Survey Says... August 4th, 2021
Happy Wednesday! Here's this week's survey, which you can copy and paste and share as a comment.
- Your skin tone/coloring:
- Your go-to special occasion look?
- Lipstick that makes you feel more confident?
- Most versatile palette you own?
Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green/gray/blue eyes, warm brown hair.
Your go-to special occasion look? Usually neutrals with a twist, like a peachy/neutral crease and a super sparkly shade or multichrome on my lids, more long-wearing foundation, more of a contour (which is still a subtle one), natural blush and lip.
Lipstick that makes you feel more confident? Bite Beauty Virgo.
Most versatile palette you own? Oh, thatβs a hard one. Probably my ND Safari palette. I can pair it with anything, it can go colorful or neutral, light or deep. I know a lot of people didnβt like it and a lot of the names of the shades are inappropriate, but it is a good palette.
Bite Beauty Virgo is gorgeous! As a Virgo, I bought it when it came out and was not disappointed!
I’m a fellow Virgo! Its truly a perfect red and I’m so sad that Bite is no longer making beautiful lipsticks.
Your skin tone/coloring: light, MAC NC 20
Your go-to special occasion look? Something using Viseart Cashmere Theory
Lipstick that makes you feel more confident? MAC Hug Me
Most versatile palette you own? ABH Modern Renaissance
Your skin tone/coloring: above
Your go-to special occasion look? I often go with glittery gold, a red lip and a goldish highlighter!
Lipstick that makes you feel more confident? Mac Ruby Woo
Most versatile palette you own? Maybe one of my Lorac Mega Pros? Or the Natasha Denona Metropolis?
Your skin tone/coloring: Above.
Your go-to special occasion look? Something that involves PMG MTHRSHP Sublime Bronze Temptation or La Vie en Rose.
Lipstick that makes you feel more confident? Not so much more confident, but rather a lipstick that “makes me feel good… about me ” , to quote Jack Nicholson from As Good as It Gets π . So, it’s a toss-up between Lisa Eldridge Rose Official and CT Amazing Grace. Will go with Rose Official.
Most versatile palette you own? ABH x Mario.
Your skin tone/coloring: pale, cool
Your go-to special occasion look? not all that different from my every day look, though I might go a bit darker/smokier on the eyes (crease/outer corner)
Lipstick that makes you feel more confident? MAC Craving (which is why I wear it almost every single day) or Givenchy Fuchsia in the Know or Smashbox Red Rage
Most versatile palette you own? Probably one of the Vice palettes (I have 2 and 3) because of the range of neutrals and a few bright and very dark shades.
Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name (blue-green eyes, dark hair)
Your go-to special occasion look? It depends on what I’m wearing, but usually it’s either a perfect neutral eye with a bit of sparkle and a cat-eye liner with a red or bold lip, or a smoky eye and a glossy nude lip.
Lipstick that makes you feel more confident? A perfect red lip!
Most versatile palette you own? UD Born To Run!
YOUR SKIN TONE/COLORING: Under my name; cherry cola hair with a violet tint; hazel/green eyes.
YOUR GO-TO SPECIAL OCCASION LOOK? I don’t have one, as it depends on my mood and the occasion. My conservative or “when in doubt” look is matte face, neutral pin-up eye with black cat eye liner on the top lid, Laura Geller Baked Original Highlighter in French Vanilla, red-leaning coral blush, and red lipstick (usually MAC Von Tease or La Vie En Rouge).
A fancier ‘when in doubt” look is a shimmery smokey gold, brown, or bronze eye with more neutral cheeks and lips.
LIPSTICK THAT MAKES YOU fFEEL MORE CONFIDENT? MAC La Vie En Rouge. Reds in general.
MOST VERSATILE PALETTE YOU OWN? It depends a bit on what I’m looking for, and how I look at the application of the word “versatile” Contenders:
*UD Born to Run — Neutrals, colors, and a wonderfully blendable black that darkens but does not take over or muddy the other shadows.
*Sydney Grace x Temptalia On the Horizon (Light) — Goes warmer, cooler, grungy, or glamorous. It’s just as easy to make several different monochrome looks as it is to combine shades for a more colorful look. It has a couple good one-and-done shades. Works well on its own and as a companion palette.
*Juvia”s Place Blushed Rose Eye Palette — Makes just as good a
cheek palette as it does an eyeshadow palette. There’s enough variation in the shades to keep it from being one-note for either use.
*Juvias Place Mini Masquerade Palette (mini is DC, but full-sized pan version is still available) — Half neutral; half colorful; all beautiful.
*UD Naked Basics (DC) — Works for light, barely there looks to pin-up looks to smokey eyes. Has shades I can use for face highlighter, contour, brows, and the black makes a good eyeliner. This one usually on trips with me, especially where space is an issue.
*ABH Modern Renaissance — an oldie but a goodie. Even though I no longer support ABH, I love this palette and always go back to it. So much can be done with it.
Your skin tone/coloring: fair/cool, MAC NW15ish
Your go-to special occasion look? I love a shimmery nude shadow with a contoured crease for dimension, dramatic lashes/liner, and a great red lip
Lipstick that makes you feel more confident? PMG Major Red Luxetrance
Most versatile palette you own? SGxTemptalia On the Horizon is really showing itβs versatility for me lately! Love the mix between cool & warm shades, plus its easy to go more subtle or dramatic.
Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Your go-to special occasion look? It really depends on what I am wearing and the colours that I choose to co-ordinate my look with – so I will reach for a variety of eye palettes to choose my shades.
Lipstick that makes you feel more confident? Maybelline’s Spice for Me
Most versatile palette you own? ND’s Glam, Lorac’s Pro Metal and On the Horizons Light palette
Your skin tone/coloring: Light neutral skin tone, green eyes, s&p hair
Your go-to special occasion look? Itβs been so long since Iβve been to any kind of special occasion thanks to the pandemic. But my basic dressy look was a cool neutral eye using Dior Backstage Cool Neutrals, with a red or fuchsia lipstick. Laura Mercier Boudoir was one of my favorite special occasion lipsticks. I think it’s been discontinued, unfortunately.
Lipstick that makes you feel more confident? It used to be red or fuchsia lipstick, but these days I love a good βnudeβ lip. My current favorite is KVD Bow βnβ Arrow Studded Kiss Lipstick. It makes my lips look very full.
Most versatile palette you own? I havenβt used palettes in a year and a half, and theyβre all put away since I canβt use them anymore, so I donβt really remember.
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair skin, dark hair and eyes
Your go-to special occasion look? I’ve worn gold lipstick (House of Beauty’s Anubis) and neutral eyeshadow to art events and high school prom. Mauve-pink lipstick for other special occasions.
Lipstick that makes you feel more confident? Becca Sorbet
Most versatile palette you own? Nars Extreme Effects
Your skin tone/coloring: pale, cool skin (foundation matches: Fenty Pro Filtβr 110, Urban Decay All Nighter 2.5, NARS Natural Radiant Longwear 2.0 Mont Blanc, Kevyn Aucoin The Etherealist Light EF 02, LβOreal True Match C3 Creamy Natural), gray eyes, brown hair with red highlights and scattered blonde/blue strands. My everyday base products are Fenty-Amber Match Stick as cheek contour and Pro Filtβr concealer and Soft Matte foundation in 110.
Your go-to special occasion look? I don’t have one-I coordinate my makeup with my clothes as a general rule, so I just do that with the color of whatever I’m wearing for the special occasion.
Lipstick that makes you feel more confident? I can’t narrow it down to any one shade, but anything in the red/pink color family.
Most versatile palette you own? I have several possibilities, and they’re all UD-Born to Run, Naked Ultraviolet, or Naked Wild West.
Your skin tone/coloring: Light-medium with yellow warm undertones, dark brown hair and eyes.
Your go-to special occasion look? Smoked out grey eyeshadow, cool toned plum blush, winged eyeliner, either a beige nude (my lips but better) or a burgundy (if it doesn’t involve eating π ).
Lipstick that makes you feel more confident? MAC Diva.
Most versatile palette you own? I own only one custom made palette… so that’s my most versatile. π
Your skin tone/coloring: Above. Grey-green eyes, dark brown hair.
Your go-to special occasion look? I can’t even remember when I was on a special occasion, but if I was to go to one now, I’d go with a shimmery mobile lid, gradient or just one great shimmer, transition and upward to match, eyeliner, possibly dark grey or dark plum, mascara. EstΓ©e Lauder DW foundation, setting powder, a satin blush, maybe a highlighter and a lipstick that looks good with whatever I was wearing.
Lipstick that makes you feel more confident? All or none, I feel the same with or without, but I really love how F-Bomb looks.
Most versatile palette you own? I don’t know. I have so many, and most of them are palettes that I can use without adding an outside shade. I’m starting to feel I should have UD Born to Run as it is mentioned by so many. As it is it’s probably one of the Naked palettes (1-3 and Smokey):
Your go-to special occasion look? My makeup style has changed somewhat since I’ve dressed up for a special occasion, but at the time I’d go with a 2000s-style blue eyeshadow with a red lip
Lipstick that makes you feel more confident? For a nude lip, Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo in “Futurist”, for a red lip Urban Decay Comfort Matte in “Bad Blood”
Most versatile palette you own? Urban Decay Born to Run
