Is having a signature look important to you?

Nope, not at all! For me, I just want to play, and I don’t care if it comes out the same as something I did the day before or a month before.

“signature look” sounds a bit grandiose! I don’t think I have anything approaching a “signature look” but I do tend to wear the same sort of look almost all the time – neutral, natural and colours that flatter me because they look natural (which is why I don’t wear peach or coral lipstick or blush – they just clash with my skin tone) but I don’t know that I’d call it “signature”. It’s more just “every day”, which is far less “grandiose”.

Other than the fact that I always tightliner my upper lashline, curl my lashes, apply winged liner on my upper lashline; nope! Everything else I do on my face is basically just going with my mood and whatever I’m wearing that particular day. I know that eventually I will likely have a few more basic “signature looks” due to aging, though. Or so I believe.

I like the idea of having a “signature look” but for the time being I don’t. Honestly if I was to settle down to one I would feel like the rest of my makeup was going to waste! I have favorites but it’s very rare that I consciously do the same look twice.

Not really, since I love play with colours. But probably there are some aspects that are common across the different looks (i.e the fact that I use shimmers onto the lids, matte in the crease, darker shades in crease and outer corners, lighter in the centre lid etc..) but are not distinctive enough to be a real signature. Maybe a signature could be the fact that very often I use a thin line of colour eyeliner (without wings) and a coloured eyepencil in the lower lash line and that usually both these colour could be either coordinated or totally mismatched with the rest of my eyelook (i.e bronze eyeshadow+ green eyeliner; copper/plum eyeshadow+ blue eyeliner)

No – I don’t really go for signature looks – I am too busy trying to use up all of my eyeshadow palettes to focus on one kind of colour arrangement for my eyes.
Having said that, I do tend to favour a neutral shading with pops of colour nowadays, using softer colours in the background and a definite pop of colour when I am wearing a top with blues, plum, greens and burgundy.

Important? Not at all. I agree with Mariella. “Signature look” does sound grandiose and I also think it sounds contrived. We all have certain looks that we favor and tend to repeat, but why would anyone want to be locked into a particular look to the point that it could be called “signature”? That sounds boring, unimaginative, and inordinately restrictive to me.

Well if a signature look is something that I just wear to go out to run errands or appts and it’s just basics with long black eyelashes, black eyeliner and a rose colored blush, and eye corner highlight. Otherwise I don’t go with any rules, there’s way too many colors to play with.

I have no skills to have a signature look instead I love to daily play with different tones! I love a teeny bit of sparkle under eyebrows or on eyelid sometimes too! If my experimenting would be a signature it would be called the blending look. As I blend to death. I’m a pretty natural and afraid to over do it since I’m pretty pale especially with blush I need to be careful but can play a bit more with eyeshadows and lipsticks except now wearing masks is a big shame. I still wear it at home. My signature look goes towards my feet instead as I love floral booties and being getting compliments everywhere I go. Lol!

I like the confidence you exude when you say that and other comments you’ve made about what makeup brings to you or helps you express. You encourage me to be settled mentally about who I am and how I express that through my makeup. Thanks!!!
