Do you ever get tired of using a favorite product?
I don’t think I’ve been able to use a true favorite enough times to get sick of using it, LOL!

No way! That’s what makes it a favourite! It’s either so flattering, so easy, such good quality, so easy to use overall (or all of these things) that I never tire of it.
I like to rotate my eyeshadows a bit depending on what I’m wearing or doing, so I rarely get tired of them. I try to use most of my makeup up rather than having multiples open (usually two of each in non-COVID times, one in my home and one set in my gym bag), so I do get tired at times of a foundation that works better seasonally or is just blah after a while. Same with lipsticks although I have at least 4 variations on a light coral pink from various brands that are all unique in my eyes 😉
If I’ve been using a particular product for a long stretch, I do find myself needing to change it up, but the product still remains a favorite. Just because something is a favorite doesn’t mean you don’t need a break from it once in a while!
Sometimes using a favorite product too often will leave me feeling like I’m in a color rut–for example, it’s easy to throw on my favorite Bobbi Brown “Juicy Date” or “Give a Fig” crushed liquid lipsticks, because they match everything and make my complexion look fantastic! But then I find myself wanting something more colorful than my favorite pink-brown, and will put them away for a while so I’m forced to wear a coral or a red or bright berry instead. Same goes for go-to favorite eyeshadows (the bronzey Chanel Empriente du Desert quad; a plummy brown Natasha Denona five-pan)–they’re gorgeous, look great on me, and are indisputable favorites, but those factors combined can lead to their overuse when I have interesting pinks or greens or silvers waiting in the wings! It just takes a little extra work to veer away from favorites and try something new.
I only find myself getting tired of base products when I’m craving a different finish or opacity; but generally, it’s so hard to find a “favorite” in that category that I don’t get tired of the great ones I find!
I don’t seem to ever be bored by re-purchasing and using again and again my “core” products (foundation, concealer, powder, primers, brow products, mascara). I sometimes get tired even on my favorite eyeshadows, that’s why I like to do a rotation of the colors I have. In the past (pre-2020), I used to get tired of my favorite lip colors.
No, I don’t think so. But sometimes I do get tired of my entire stash! I don’t even know what that’s about or why I would feel like that.
Probably because you know what you have so the lack of things being spontaneous or having a new discovery makes you feel blasé. Perhaps step away from using anything for a week or so or looking at anything new, and then coming back to some hidden gems.
Not really. I have too many products that I like , and try to cycle through them in a random, mood based sorta way.
As I’ve gotten more tuned into the possibility of products spoiling, I feel good when I use something steadily for a while, because it means I’m getting closer to finishing instead of wasting it.
Tired isn’t quite how I feel about favorite beauty items, in particular palettes. More like I’m fickle 😜
If I ever get tired of using one particular eye palette – I do ‘rest’ it and have plenty more in my stash to rotate with. By rotating my eye palettes, I do get to value why I bought them in the first place. Some of my older palettes, like Naked 1 – I still use and fall in love with them again.
Favorites make me feel good so I don’t get tired of them but I will rotate my products so there is a change and then I am refreshed and renewed!
No! I shop my stash weekly on Sundays and set up my glam tray for the week so I don’t get into a rut or get tired of a favorite. I also get to do spot inventory each week and see what I haven’t been using – lends itself nicely to frequent decluttering.
Occasionally. Then I use something else for awhile. However, my favorites are favorites for a reason, and I go back to them.
With some colour cosmetics I lose inspiration, but I tend to swap it out for another favourite for a week or two then come back to it with renewed appreciation (or find tutorials that help me love it in ways I hadn’t before).
I can’t think of an example but knowing my personality it’s not outside the realm of possibility. I’m the kind of person who can obsess over something for years, use it religiously, ride or die, the whole schtick, then one day walk away as if I’ve never known it. So yeah getting tired of a favorite of anything is definitely a me thing to do.
