How do you feel about mini sizes in skincare?
It depends on how mini; I like the idea of smaller, more travel-sized options, so there is enough product to give it a good go but doesn’t feel like one or two uses.

even if its priced more for oz and such i think is a great idea when im not sure about a product i want to try or ill never finish or ill want to take on the go. same as you a decent travel sized product that doesnt feel like a sample
I love them! I wish all skincare products came in mini size. I don’t buy anything full sized that I haven’t tried first now. I got sick of paying so much for something that didn’t work for my skin. Too much wasted money and product. And I like the smaller sizes for travel. Takes up less bag space and I don’t feel so bad if I lose them in transit.
I love them! For the most part, I found my skincare routine this way.
Because I have found some of my favorite HG skincare products via mini sized samples, I happen to love them and be more open to trying them out. It’s how I discovered my 7 years of using Ole Henriksen Truth Serum. And how I came to love Drunk Elephant Protini Peptide, too.
I always get tons of samples and that helps me to discover new products. Once I like something, I always buy full or even jumbo size though. I guess I am more loyal to skincare when it works and always want to try new makeup!
I love the option of mini sizes. Great to travel with. It’s also a great way to test whether a product will work for me before committing to a full-size. I’ve wasted a ton of money on full-size products that end up not working for me and I always feel bad about returning.
I agree! As a spa podcaster/youtuber, I get tons of samples to try and feel like I need at least a week’s worth to tell if I like the item enough to try it for longer term effects. I would even buy smaller amounts and wish more companies would offer that.
I wish everything came in a mini size. A sample may be enough to reveal that a product is irritating but it will not be enough to show if a product is effective.
I really like mini trial sized skin care products. Not so much the small little packets.By using a mini sized trial I was introduced to a lot of my favorite skin care products. Especially high end skin care before investing in a full sized. Gives me a chance to test out whether they irritate or help my skin.
I LOVE mini sizes and would happily buy more of them if they were offered. I don’t like the samples on a card though — not enough product. But the ones in an actual vial? Heaven. I just enjoy trying new things without the guilt of returning if I hate the color or have an allergic reaction. I actually buy perfume in sample size kits rather than one big bottle because I vastly prefer wearing different perfumes and trying new scents.
I don’t mind the mini skincare sizes, like the ones you can get as GWP. I think it’s a good way to try out the brand’s products and see if you skin likes the formula or not.
These are also handy when travelling too.
For me, they are very useful when it comes to testing a new product for potential irritations and for the way it sits under/over other skincare products and/or makeup. This is the first step for me. If everything goes well, I need the full-size to test how effective the product is (at least for a three-month period, sometimes less when it comes to chemical exfoliators, acids).
Assuming we’re talking about true minis and not sample sizes, I like them. I like the option of following up a sample with a longer trial period. I LOVE having mini skincare for travel. I have very dry skin and use quite a lot in my daily routine. Having a handful of skin care items that will last 1-2 weeks would be great. I haven’t really found that yet, outside of decanting my own, but that’s the ideal. Is it too much to ask there wouldn’t be insane markup?
I love having a travel size option available, and I also like to try the mini size before committing to the full size. This is because my sensitive skin sometimes won’t react to a product until I’ve used it for a couple weeks. Then if I’ve bought the full size, it has to go in the trash.
I love mini sizes in everything. I think it is a great way to try products, you are eyeing with. Also who has the appropriate income, great to have them for travelling (bad for the environment). Also they are easier to finish so they are not stored for a long time after opening.
