Powder Blush

Admittedly, most of my favorites are powder blushes, but they tend to have the better longevity in terms of sitting around in a drawer being used a handful of times a year (I don’t keep most of the cream products I tested due to shelf life!). When powder blushes are too dry, they can be harder to apply and blend out, and it can be frustrating to try and fix that type of error/issue.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! What I like about them is that they aren’t as fussy as other blush formulas to apply, they last better on my cheeks throughout the day, and I don’t need to worry about them “turning”, either. My UD Rapture and Bittersweet are maybe 6 years old and still apply perfectly fine, don’t have any weird odor or anything. They are my favorite blush formula.

What I don’t like: that would be when one is prone to applying splotchy and uneven. Or is too dry looking and powdery. Another downer is when it has a strong fragrance to it.

I like pretty much EVERYTHING – ease of use, the ability to buff out for a more natural look or intensify for a more “I’m having a hot flash here” look (yeah, right – like anyone deliberately does that!). I like that generally they last for ages without going “off” or the texture changing (sure some do get “hard pan” but I think I’ve only had 1 or 2 do that and it’s easy enough to remedy and usually it happens quite close to the end of their “lives” so it’s not a huge heart-break if I can’t fix it by scraping off the hardened bit). I like that they don’t disturb my foundation or CC cream and I like the variety of finishes.

I LOVE powder blushes. Whenever there is a new cream blush launch that looks tempting, like the Fenty ones, I think “I can be that girl that uses cream blush”. Nope- Who am I kidding- it never works for me! Powder is so easy to apply, has a long shelf life and can be easily fixed if over applied.
