Do your base/complexion products change for fall?

My base/complexion go-tos only change if my skin changes to the point where it seems to rebel against whatever I was using! Plus, I live in Arizona, where it’s not exactly chilly in the fall, haha.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I live somewhere that doesn’t experience actual seasons. It’s either hot, dry summer or “I’m in danger of spontaneous combustion when I step outside” dry summer pretty much all year. I never go outside, though, so I’ve been the exact same color for the past five years, haha. I guess not needing to adjust my base routine is the one upside to living somewhere like this.

Really only when we get to the end of October/early November do I feel any need to adjust anything in those two areas of concern. Usually, by this time, my skin will begin to feel dryer due to the extremely dry, and still very warm air. At this point, I switch from my hot weather nighttime moisturizer Hada Labo Skin Plumping Gel Cream to Drunk Elephant Protini Peptide. Both are HG for my combo skin. For reference, I’m 61 and live in Arizona.
As for foundation, it evolves with my having to sometimes go into wearing my lighter winter shade sooner than my coloring on my body fades. I do use 30spf sunscreen, but I pick up color easily and go from Fenty 260 up into roughly MAC NC42 in very little time. Unfortunately, my face fades far sooner than the rest of me because I use 40spf on my face and neck daily, even in winter. As a result, I’m already using my Fenty 260 and having a “ghost face”, LOL.

I don’t even change my sunscreen (SPF 50 for me year round) and primer, I don’t feel the need to change my complexion products and techniques, no matter the season.
As the weather changes, maybe I become less generous with my setting powder, but foundation and concealer stay the same.

I’m more likely to wear foundation now because in the warmer months my face heats up so much everything wants to melt off despite copious use of setting spray and other measures. I usually stick to lighter things like tinted moisturizer rather than actual foundations for that part of the year. In the cooler months, however, I don’t have that problem so I get to wear them. As far as color matching, I rarely go out into the sun. I love the sunlight, but actually being out in it gets uncomfortable for me really quickly, consequently my skin tone doesn’t change much from season to season. So once I find a good match in a foundation I’m good.
