Lush Breath of Fresh Air Toner for Dry Skin
Lush Breath of Fresh Air Toner ($7.95 to 17.45) is designed to re-hydrate dry skin while restoring your skin back to the correct pH balance. What I really love about all of Lush’s toners is that they come in handy spray-bottles. You can spritz on the go, on your face, or on a cotton pad–whatever you like–and you know you’re going to get the same amount. I find two spritzes onto a cotton pad to be perfect for half my face, then I repeat on the other side of the cotton pad to finish my face. One bottle seems to last forever–it’s definitely not a product you have to buy more than once or twice a year.
While some cleansers have made toning unnecessary, it’s still an easy step to keep to your beauty routine. I find that they are really helpful to ensure you’ve gotten every last vestige of your makeup off. If you have acne-prone skin like mine (which is terrible right, ugh!), you definitely do what you can to minimize the chance of setting off a breakout by keeping that skin clean before you go to bed! I also like that this toner really does not dry out your skin whatsoever or make it feel tight at all. It is a toner more suitable for those with dry skin, because it helps to soothe it.
The one thing I dislike about the toner is that there is perfume in the ingredients’ list. I really don’t know why it’s necessary, and I’m not sure why there isn’t a more natural way to make it smell acceptable. I just worry when perfume is listed anywhere but in the very last portion of an ingredients’ list!
Ingredients: Spring Water (Aqua), Fresh Sea Water (Aqua), Aloe Vera Gel (Aloe barbadensis), Perfume, Carrageenan Extract (Chondrus crispus), Rose Absolute (Rosa centifolia), Patchouli Oil (Pogostemon cablin), Rosemary Oil (Rosmarinus officinalis), Seaweed Absolute (Fucus vesiculosus), *Limonene, *Linalool, Methylparaben.
Do you feel like you’ve seen any major improvement in your skin with this? Like, does it feel better or look better to you? Also, what does it smell like? I like good smelling stuff, but hate patchouli…
To be honest, I wrote this review awhile ago (I’m behind a bit), and I passed this onto my sister (I’m testing other stuff now) so I don’t remember quite what it smells like. My skin has been going through hell ever since Smashbox Photofinish so it’s hard to tell you what improvement there has been, LOL.

You don’t need to worry about the perfume 😉 The website has a really handy feature: all natural ingredients are printed in green! I checked Breath Of Fresh Air and perfume is printed in green, which means it’s a few natural essential oils and they just don’t want to say which ones so other companies can’t steal the formula 🙂
I tried Breath Of Fresh Air too and I love it! It smells fresh (@Mariah: no worries about the patchouli, I hate it too but luckily you don’t smell it at all in this product) and it feels fresh and it hydrates my skin 🙂 really lovely product!

LUSH face products generally include essential oils with a purpose and lump them together under “perfume” so as not to give away the formula. I don’t think they’re there to make it smell good, but its a side effect of using essential oils to treat skin problems that the LUSH facial products smell like a variety of different things.
I’ve tried this product: It was refreshing and felt nice when I sprayed it on I suppose; it smelled good, and made my skin feel a little bit tight… Not a must, though, so I didn’t repurchase.
