What are some holiday palettes you'd love to see?
I’d love to see something in the spirit of Pat McGrath’s Decadence palette–those rich metallics–but in a more cohesive story (so mattes and satins with those rich metallics), perhaps a combo of jewel-tones, like ruby red, emerald green, and sapphire, plus your typical golds but maybe one really warm, rich gold and an intense, pewter gold (so a “cooler” gold). I hope we get another 28-pan midi palette from ND this season!
Do you think Natasha would ever release her 28 pan purple/blue and green/brown in the midi size? Or do you think she considerS those old news and probably wouldn’t go back to that?
Oh! I’m hoping for something like that too but I would love to have the Gold and Lila palettes in the midi size!
My kingdom for cooler golds/antique golds/pewter’s ? whenever I see yellow golds or strong green-leaning golds I get Sad ?
I have yet to come across a deeply rich, metallic & shimmery navy blue. I think that’d work well for holidays!
The Friendcation palette by Dose has one.
My thoughts exactly Joyce – navy is such a neglected shade and what is out there is either poorly done or in a finish that really doesn’t suit me. I would LOVE a rich metallic navy blue – not like a blackened navy, but a true French navy.
The holiday collections seem less robust this year. I wonder if pandemic times effected manufacturing and supply chain? Saves me money but usually, I get so excited around the holidays and make my biggest purchases this time of year.
I’d love a Nutcracker ballet-inspired palette but *not* from Too Faced, who would be the likeliest to do it lol. Going to see that ballet has always been a highlight of the holidays for me (my city stages a spectacular production) since I was a kid and it’s what I’ll miss most this season. I’d like a color representing each segment of the ballet but which would work together as a whole.
Remember that stunning purple/lilac/plum/lavender mock-up Pat McGrath Mothership Palette you did a few months ago? That! ?
Or that green tones one, I’d take that one, too! ?
Oh, yes, that would be lovely.
Create your own palette with a special case from Natasha Denona. You fill it with any of her existing shades and it holds 15 of her regular sized pans (Biba size, not midi size).
Yes, I think that is an excellent idea Cameron. I would use all the shades from the Bronze and Gold palettes that I love and not the mattes and pink/red shades that I don’t.
Between the pandemic and the civil unrest it is hard to get excited about makeup or even Christmas for that matter. I hadn’t really thought about what I would like to see but have to admit that your idea for a palette sounds great to me, Christine. If it is a larger palette, more than 4 or 6 shades, then I would want it to be a stand alone palette for me so it was good for traveling.
Shades inspired by Tanzanite, Morganite, etc. Add some different jewel tones than ruby, emerald, and sapphire.
Smaller palettes. Or if doing a larger one, include a minI palette holder so you can snap out some of your shades to carry with you in a more portable manner.
From ND I was hoping for a cooler, or more neutral palette midi (15/28 doesn’t matter), we’ve got the glam, but I am still not satisfied. To be honest, I don’t think she is going to release similar any soon, but I still hope she is going to create something for winter. I wish for greys and mauves, muted blue, navy… We will see. I am hoping.
I would also like to see a new, traditional ABH 14 pan palette, not collab, but her own creation. I miss those beautiful and unique themes she used to come up with.
I would love to see something with greens and related olive like colors that are a rich and vibrant in a smaller palette with satins, shimmers and maybe a few metallics. I’d like to see ND create more in the smaller 15 pan palette or even the smaller five pans that will allow people to mix and match.
It would also be cool for brands to do a series of nude palettes for blending, highlighting, crease colors, shimmer toppers, et al that addresses all of our different coloring while addressing variations in cool vs warm undertones. I recently built a custom one that I adore. But I can think of at least 3 different friends who I would get this for if it were from a brand like ND or Pat. The culture is ripe for it. And we are only seeing brands starting to address lippies and foundation in general.
I’d like to see a blush, highlighter and glitter topper palette – 4 matte blushes, 3 – 4 shimmery highlighters and a couple of iridescent glitter or multi reflect semi sheer toppers that could be used on both cheeks and eyes.
I’m thinking a deep neutral biscuit brown, a tawny kinda caramel coral, bright rose and a more muted mauve for the blushes. Rose gold, 24k gold, cool greyed lavender and a gold shimmered apricot for the highlighters. One warm (copper, gold and pink) and one cool (lilac, teal and silver) toppers.
The Decadence IV Mothership is definitely my favorite out of the bunch, but I agree a blue/violet palette would be interesting from her.
I would love to see a TF palette in the form of the one lone ago called Pink Glow. It was housed in a round compact , easy to stash in a bag, everything you need for a simple look. It was in a summer collection, right? I really miss that one! It was my first TF purchase. It was expensive (yet much cheaper than PMG) so I waited to purchase it, and when I finally decided to, I had to hunt it down, literally!
I am really into the combination of gray, burgundy/red, and teal, so a palette with that color story would be cool. I also really enjoyed the direction the Mac 2018 holiday shiny pretty shadows went in; wearable duochrome (eye safe) glitter shadows. A palette of interesting cool toned mattes and duochrome metallics or glittery shades would be nice.
I want something interesting. An all duo- and/or multi- chrome palette would be amazing.
I would dearly love to see an autumn themed palette containing golds, bronzes, warm browns, olive greens and genuinely good soft shimmer or satin navy shade. No reds, pinks or oranges please. No matte blacks or white shades either. Antique golds and pewter shades definitely welcome too.
While scrolling thru ULTA new products pages I saw a palette by Makeup Revolution. It was shades of silver to gray, deep and smoky blues, deep purples and burgundy. I would like to see someone like Pat McGrath or Natasha Denona do it incorporating mattes, shimmer, and metallics. I’d also buy it if Sydney Grace produced it. Makeup Revolution doesn’t have the quality, but the concept was nice.
I would love any of those PMG concept palettes you did a few months back. They were gorgeous and so well-thought out.
