Technically the last thing I bought was Native deodorant. It’s hyped so much on YouTube by influencers I had to try. I think it’s OK and too expensive for mediocre results. It does a pretty good job of holding off sweat on hot humid 90 plus degree days. The scent doesn’t hold up in an 8 hour plus work day esp with the hot, humid 90 plus degree work day though. It’s not worst deodorant nor the worst aluminum free deodorant but it’s not the best deodorant that keeps me sweat free and smelling nice on long hot humid high temp days. I still prefer Dove or Old Spice Lavender deodorants. They are $8 roughly. Native is $12. Sorry I just don’t think it’s as good as it’s hyped up to be! I’m not converted and I’ll stick to my old stand bys!
The only thing that entices me about Native is their new plastic free packaging, but they don’t have a fragrance free option for the version. For me all those YouTube reviews and sponsorships, especially over saturing the videos almost have the opposite impact on me, making me not want to buy it. ? So I appreciate hearing an opinion from someone else perspective.
My husband got me the ABH x Carli Bybel palette for my birthday! I’ve used it a few times, so here’s my review so far: It’s a great palette for light looks on people with light skin tones. The shadows are high quality. The metallics are super metallic. The deeper shade, Boie, is really the only shade I can use to deepen things up, but it doesn’t quite get deep enough for my tastes and it seems to have an odd olive undertone that contrasts with the peachy/mauvey tones of the palette and not in the best way. But if you like lighter looks and you have a light to medium skin tone, this is a great quality palette, and it’s on sale on the ABH website. If you have a lot of neutral palettes, it’s not anything revolutionary and you can probably find plenty of dupes in your collection.
My last really wonderful purchase was the Suede Voyageur palette from NARS but I’m not quite sure how I can review it as it’s not in the Temptalia database, so far as I can tell…
You can add any product to the database!
You forget – I’m a Luddite when it comes to stuff like that. But I’ll give it a go when I have a bit of time (incoming “bubble” company just now).
Certainly you can add it, Mariella. But I think Christine meant for you to review it here, in the post. Hey, do both. I have seen your reviews, when I look ‘deeper’ into the site.
Yes! The QOTD definitely meant to review it here as a comment 🙂 But for a formal review, anyone can add a product!
Such a long time no shopping ? , it was so difficult to think of something. One of my more recent purchases was the Paula’s Choice retinol and bakuchiol treatment. I love retinol, this product isn’t as good as my all time favorite (the 1% retinol Clinical treatment), but I still love the results, how my skin texture looks and feels. I have very high tolerance to retinol, so off course I didn’t get any irritation.
Last thing I purchased was Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic Acid & Retinol Eye Serum. This was a many times over repurchase. Have been buying it ever since a fellow reader (Wednesday) recommendation of it. It’s pretty pricey, but it actually WORKS. My eye area definitely doesn’t look 61 years old! Also, even though I have extremely sensitive eyes, I have never experienced any sort of stinging, redness or irritation. This eye serum is a gem!
I finally bought the Anastasia contour/foundation stick in Mink and wow wow wow! Blended out, it looks so incredibly natural! As if I were born with chiseled cheekbones.
I’m a little devastated that ABH is discontinuing them, so fingers crossed that I find this on sale somewhere so I can get a couple backups… ?
Hoping your hubby gets through his surgery with the desired outcome.
Hugs to you all! And, absolutely love your blog. I know when David Muir (ABC NEWS) is over I’m in for a treat, even though I’m too old for most of your looks, but I buy most of my cosmetics after seeing them on your blog.
All the best,

Thank you, Leigh! I’m glad it has helped you make some great purchases!!
Kosas natural deodorant. I had such hopes for this!!
It is a gel/goo formula with a squeeze-tube roller ball delivering system. Very strange. Also difficult to apply adequate product. Additionally, it doesn’t really work for a regular work day in an AC office. Certainly doesn’t work in heat, outdoors or during sports and activities.
The hunt continues…..
The last product I bought was the flat version of the Coloured Raine Juicy Boost Palette, but because I’ve only got it a day ago, I haven’t tried it on my eyes yet. I swatched it, and was pretty happy. The colors are mostly really vibrant and finger blended nicely. I adore the ultra-bright neon pink shades. Pink Grapefruit and Citrus Ginger weren’t quite as pigmented and didn’t blend as nice on my arm. Not awful, but not as nice as the rest. The shimmers are stunning! I wish there were more of them.
Been on a drugstore tinted lip balm bender in this hot, humid & masked August-
Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip Balm SPF 20 – Loving this! Comes in 6 shades (I have Healthy Blush, Sunny Berry, & Petal Glow). Sheer, comfortably emollient, has a light banana flavor, wears about 3 hours, has SPF, & easy to apply from an elegant black oval tube. Best for those preferring a natural look, just adds a healthy-looking hint of color.
Chapstick Total Hydration Vitamin Enriched Tinted Lip Oil – Can’t be without this1 Comes in 6 shades (I have Blushed Bronze, Warm Pink, & Subtle Pink). All shades apply sheer & lighter than they appear in the tube. Has a flavor reminiscent of Juicy Fruit gum. Totally non-sticky, very moisturizing, subtly shiny, feels & wears like Chanel’s Glossimers for 3-4 hours. Not sure why more people aren’t talking about this product!
Nivea Lip Care Blackberry – Great product! Easy to apply, gorgeous, sheer, deep plummy mauve tint. Comfortable to wear and lasts 4 hours. Healed my chapped lips in a day. Now my preferred “before bed” overnight repair balm.
