St. Ives Apricot Scrub is not just the best favorite body scrub this year, but it’s the best Facial Cleanser/Scrub! It won with 16% of votes, with Cetaphil trailing in second place with 12% of votes. MAC’s Volcanic Ash Exfoliator came in third place with 11% of votes.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural won by a landslide with a huge margin of 17%, coming in with 35% of votes. Make Up For Ever’s HD Microfinish Powder finds itself in second place with 18% of votes. MAC Blot Powder comes in third place with 17% of votes, just barely losing to HD.
MAC Select Tint is just barely the favorite, with 24% of the vote, but it’s enough to put Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer in second place, with 23% of the vote. Clinique’s Moisture Sheer Tint (which I didn’t even know existed!) came in third place with 11% of your votes.
NARS Orgasm wins this category, and it’s really not shocking, as 30% of you considered it the best everyday blush of the year. MAC Dainty, which came out in 2008, came in second with 14% of the votes. Another MAC favorite was Stark Naked, which made third place with 11% of the votes.
Neutrogena Dry-Touch was voted into first place as the best sunscreen of 2008 with 26% of the votes. MAC Prep + Prime (Face) SPF50 trailed first only slightly, coming in second place with 22% of the vote. Clinique’s City Block got itself into third with 15% of the vote.
That’s cool, I have that face scrub, didn’t knew it was that popular! Love it too, don’t really like the smell but it works great.
Oh wait, I see it’s about the body scrub, never mind :p
Why is that apricot scrub still so darn popular? The granules are so uneven and sharp that it scratches and rips the skin. Not good.
I love this brown sugar face polish from C.O. Bigelow (can be found at Bath and Body Works.) It’s a wonderful product because you can use it as a scrub or a mask and it leaves your face feeling like a baby’s…well…you know lol…its like less than 20 bucks and is amazing! I would compare it to pretty much the same thing from Fresh that has a 55 dollar price tag….

I used to be a big fan of the St Ives Apricot Scrub… until I discovered Olay Thermal Face Polish. And I think I love Chanel powder blush best of all… Enchantress is gorgeous!
My sister works at Estee Lauder and they are told over and over that the St Ives scrub has a tendency to actually rip tiny holes in the skin. She said it has something to do with the irregular shaped granules or something. I don’t know if that’s just Lauder’s way of saying “our stuff is better” but I thought I’d spread the word just in case.
I’m an aesthetician and I (as well as most aestheticians I know) tell people the same thing, its not just Lauder. Any scrub containing ‘natural’ exfoliating particles such as apricot or walnut shells has the potential to microscopically tear the skin and thus cause irritation. Scrubs that have man-made spherical beads tend to be better b/c there are no sharp edges to tear the skin.
I have used the St. Ives apricot scrub as well and did not find it anything worthwhile other than being the right price.
