If you had to pick one eyeshadow pre-made palette to use all summer, what would you pick?
Pat McGrath Midnight Sun or Sydney Grace Autumn’s Reign, but it would be hard for me to commit to a single palette, haha.

I don’t think I could choose! I love variety too much.
Probably the ColourPop princess palette—I’ve been feeling warm pinks and golds lately, and that would meet those needs. 🙂
Oh, this is a tough one. Maybe Urban Decay Vice 2 or the Tarte Tarteist Pro Remix palette (the LE one) because they’re large and have pretty much all the colours I need and not too many of the sorts of colours I don’t wear or struggle with. At the opposite end of the spectrum, the small but mighty Smashbox Smoky or Minimalist palettes would work too.
Clinique Teddy Bear quad.
I love Autumn’s Reign and might choose that one. Or, I have been loving Nabla’s Secret Garden lately. Maybe Natasha Denona’s Gold Palette or maybe her Lila as I haven’t used that as much since I bought it. Sydney Grace’s Mountain Trail bundle was fantastic and sort of counts as a palette, I suppose. I have such a short attention span with regards to color cosmetics, though. I have a hard time sticking to one palette for a week, let alone an entire summer!
I’ve been trying to “shop my stash” lately and have fallen back in love with the original Lorac Unzipped – they’re just so easy and always look good. I also love the Nudestix Nude Beach set from last year (does that count as a palette, though?). Their products are always pretty summer-proof on my combo-oily skin.
I loved that palette!!! I got mine water damaged while traveling with it (and got mold because cardboard takes to much time to dry) I had neglected to buy another one but that palette is great
This was very difficult, but I think I’ll go with one of my oldest palettes, Urban Decay Naked3. I almost chose ColourPop Fame, but I think Naked3 has the best range of shades I think I’ll be using over the next couple months.
Maybe my Too Faced White Peach palette, or perhaps the Aether Rose Quartz. Both are so pretty and fresh-looking.
UD Born to Run, because summer is when I like to use blue and green and this is my only palette with such shades. But I would be happier if I could use my blue and green singles plus Viseart Petit Pro Soleil. If I put all that in a Z palette, is it too much of a cheat?
I could never commit to just one, but probably Urban Decay Born to Run for the variety of shades.
I think most of us would have a hard time committing to one palette for a week, let alone the whole summer! I briefly thought of choosing Born to Run but it has a few shades in it that are difficult for me to wear attractively and if I’m making believe that I have to use only this palette til Labour Day, I realized I needed a BIG palette with (for me) more wearable shades.
Out of ones I actually own? Either PML Midnight Sun Mothership or UD Game Of Thrones Palette. Both would allow me to create warm neutral, purple, or some other color like either teal or green. Both contain some really good matte shades that I can use for my transition, crease and to define, too.
Ooooh, Nancy – a whole new dimension to this question – choosing a palette I don’t already own. Oh, my goodness – the possibilities! I would choose the Sydney Grace Enduring Love palette but (probably the “light” version or I could take a leaf out of Rachel’s book and choose 2 and thereby choose both the light and dark versions…redundant a bit but what the heck; it’s “let’s pretend”. I considered the UD Game of Thrones palette (which I do own) but there are a few clunkers in it that would make it not the best choice for 2.5 months or more but I adore so many of the shades in that one (Casterly Rock, Nymeria, Dothraki, Winter is Here, Stormborn, Frozen North). If only the round shades at the side were better (especially Winterfell – SO disappointing, that one). Do you have the GOT palette?
I do have the GOT Palette, Mariella! It’s a fun one for summer, I think. You’re right about there being a few subpar shades in it, but I use those with a damp brush, if at all. Overall, I do still love the palette still!
I wasn’t sure if you were talking about a palette you don’t have but wish you had! Have you had any luck with Winterfell??? That’s one of the shades I fell in love with but it’s so disappointing and I can apply it with a damp brush but it’s not worth the trouble as I have similar better shades (because that sort of shade really is my Achilles heel). I used Frozen North – such a gorgeous shade – the other week as more of a liner under my lashes and was rather appalled to find smeared little particles of it on my cheeks later in the day (thank heavens I was home).
Winterfell I only use as a topper over looks I’ve done using the King’s Landing quad of shades as a “bridge” between Red Keep and Casterly Rock. It is a pain in the butt, though gorgeous when it sits right! A very fussy one!
I’ve also gotten that major fallout using Frozen North, but it’s still one of my absolute favorite shades of teal ever.
I do wish Winterfell could have been better and more like it looks in the pan. I fell head over heels (or maybe lashes over lids?) for Casterly Rock, so much in fact that I bought the Marc Jacobs dupe lest I ever run out (not ever likely, really, but it’s that whole thing of loving an LE product so much you need a back up for a dupe). I tend to steer well clear of red and burgundy eyeshadows but Weirwood Leaves is so lovely that I figured I had to learn how to use it and it became a favourite this past autumn.
Very difficult question! Currently I’m in love with huda beauty mint obsession palette, but it’s no a stand-alone palette, so I have to do a different choice no? Maybe huda beauty mercury retrograde, which is complete and very funny. But also violet voss hastagh palette screams summer, having a lot of warm tone shades
Tarte ROTS Vol. 1. For most of summer I just do shimmery nude one-and-done eye looks, and this palette is perfect for that. I have plenty of colorful singles and eyeliners if I need them for cooler summer days.
And I realized as I was reading Christine’s posts, I used the term “nude.” My apologies. Shimmery beiges, pinky beiges, and light taupes. I’ll try to do better in the future!
Good catch Rachel ..!.
“Nude” has become so normalized … 🙂 every time I look at beige I still think “Nude” ..
Thank you. This old dog will learn this new, better trick eventually. I’ll be practicing! *smile(
It would probably be the So jaded Colourpop palette. There’s much lighter shades than my usual grungy year round palettes. The rearranged blue and peachy row are especially suited for a quick beach makeup. But if I don’t go anywhere near water I would go with brighter looks probably using the discontinued Hasina 2 palette.
I almost picked this one. It was definitely a contender.
Natasha Denona Tropics or Safari palette. I’ve acquired both recently and love them and I would be satisfied with either!
ND Safari gets my vote too. Colourful, yet can be done understated as well.
I’m thinking too since it’s Summer, it would be so easy to take a color from the Safari, throw it in the crease and call it a day. No fuss which is dearly needed in the warm, humid days of Summer!
Maybe Born To Run or Metropolis – I’d want the variety.
I would probably use Huda’s New Nudes palette. It’s still my favorite due to the color story and many different types of shadows.
I just got the Milani “ Gilded Gold “ palette and so far it’s providing enough variety ,I think I could live with it for a Summer
It is a tricky one to choose, but for summer I tend to use either Dior’s Bonne Etoile quint, Guerlain’s Les Gris quad and Naked 2.
Can I cheat a little? I made myself a 24-pan Colourpop singles palette that is my perfect palette – grays, cool browns, warm browns, yellows, oranges, and pinks/purples. One row of each. It has all the neutrals and colors that I either go for regularly or love as an accent. I actually always have this on my vanity, so if there’s anything missing from whatever of my bajillion palettes I’m using that day, I’m covered.
If I can’t use that, then I guess my ND Star palette, because it’s my most expensive, new to me, and gorgeous.
Definitely Natasha Denona Sunrise, it’s such a summer palette to me
Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Pro Vol 3!
KVD Vegan Beauty Lolita por Vida. It’s got a nice selection of warm neutrals and pretty mauves/plums, with a couple of duochromes, a glitter pot for those who are into that, and some ‘wet look’ shadows that have a very interesting finish. It’s too bad that release got looked over because of Kat von D’s abhorrent behavior, it’s actually a really good palette.
