Technically the same, but I am not as experimental with eyeshadow color as I was. I tend to stick to neutral eyeshadow shades these days. They just work better on this particular face. This means, of course, that a lot of my colorful palettes are going to waste.

Less. As I’ve gotten older I feel less of the need to ‘create’ a face and just go with the one I have. And I don’t have the patience to try new things! Though you will take my mascara out of this blonde’s cold dead hands.

I use less product, but somewhat the same products than a few years ago.

With the past few years I have noticed that I use less product in quantity, especially for primers, foundation, concealer, powders. It’s not that I started liking a more sheer coverage, I started wanting products that give me more (primers with multiple benefits, high coverage foundations and concealers that don’t require building, powders that set my make-up all day with a sheer swipe).

Product wise in the last few years I started being a brow pencil + brow gel person more often (usually I was a brow gel only), I almost never use eye pencils (I used to wear something on my waterline almost everyday), I gave up to the 1-2 lip liners I used to have, I started layering multiple face powders (I only used either blush, contour or bronzer, nowadays I would contour and add a little but of blush as well), face primer became a must, give or take I wear a similar number of products, maybe slightly fewer.

I think I use more, but convince myself it looks like the same or less :). Shadows tend more neutral, probably same # (2-3 max). I’ve added color correcting, highlighting and contouring to my daily routine, along with regular brow pencil. Also using lip primer followed by liner – seems more important now as my lips lose definition, shrink and change shape. Sounds worse than it feels, but I do sometimes wonder if seeing a cosmetic dermatologist might save me some time and trouble (money even?) in the long run.

More! I took a break for a few years while I worked on liking how I look without makeup. I feel like I’m in a better place now to not feel like I’m using it to feel better about myself, but to just enjoy it.

I’ll often wear it at home (I work from home) as part of “getting ready” and into the working mindset. As an added bonus, it scratches the creative itch, and it beats the advice of wearing jeans while working from home… so uncomfortable. ?

Less — but only because I have a tiny human to care for and it takes up a lot of the free time I used to use for makeup. 🙂 When I do wear makeup, I usually use roughly the same amount of products as I used to — maybe a little less eye makeup, but otherwise the same.

I wear pretty much the same amount of makeup as I have always worn. Being so fair, I have felt that I needed foundation to even out my skin tones and cover a little bit of redness on my cheeks. I have needed to wear blush and lipstick to add colour. I guess the only big difference is that I wear more eyeshadows and better quality ones to those I used a decade ago. I have experimented with lots of different shades and I love the effect.

I find myself wearing less makeup as I grow older. I have figured out what works best for me and don’t often try new things. Mostly, I use what I have then purchase more of the same when I run out. I say that, but just today I purchased the Essence Pure Nude Highlighter in “Be My Spacelight.” It’s really nice! ?

The older I get the less I wear. Due to having crepe-like eyelids, fine lines, more wrinkles, almost any foundation just accentuates all the fine lines. I cannot apply eyeliner like I used to due to saggy eyelids and any attempts at fancier eyeshadow application is gone with my hooded eyelids – so simple is best. If I had botox it would help correct this, but I’m not sure I want to start investing in that again.

I’ve paired it down to concealer correcting (or some color correcting) on my face to get rid of redness and a good mascara, some blush, and a very good lipstick. I might have a swipe of single color eyeshadow and maybe a gel eyeliner if my skincare has been smoothing out the fine lines, but that’s it.

More. Much, much more.
A few years ago: 1-2 e/s shades, mascara, occasionally blush, and a nude lipstick.

Now: moisturizer, spf, powder, primer, setting spray, setting powder, foundation, cream blush, contour, bronzer, set with powder blush, contour, bronzer, eyelid primer, 6+ e/s, inner corner and browbone highlights, concealer, undereye setting powder, eyelash primer and mascara, brow pencil and powder, cheek highlight, nose and chin highlight, and sometimes shimmer or glow on selected areas after everything is set.

Yup. Every day. And I love every minute of it.

I would say I wear less. Years ago I preferred full coverage and heavier contouring, more products on my brows and eyes. For a while now I try to create a more natural finish on my face accepting my imperfections and features. I still love eyeshadows and go heavier on my eyes and barely use anything on my lips as they are narrow and uneven.
