Pat McGrath Golden Opulence Mini Lip Gloss Trios Swatches
Pat McGrath’s Lunar New Year Collection also included two, miniature-sized gloss trios, which I’ve swatched in this post. Each trio contains two shades from the permanent range and one new, exclusive shade. Here are swatches of the two sets!
Even knowing that I would use Bronze Opulence far more often, it’s the Red trio that’s moving me to buy it! Those just look so juicy, like glazed apples!
Celestial Ruby and Lunar Bronze are the new shades. I have the other shades and Pale Fire Nectar is one of my all-time favorite glosses so it’s nice to have a pocket size. Blood and flesh I have in large sizes and barely use them. I got the trios for the new shades and love lunar bronze, it really shows up opaque and is a stunner. It doesn’t look like the new lineup has those shades, which is a shame, I would buy LB in a large size.
Lunar bronze looks gorgeous on Christine and definitely the stand out catching my eye. I have nothing like it in stash. I imagine these trios are s/o at this point… in which case disappointed too it is not part of the new lineup.
It’s still on Sephora this morning (1/20)!
All these trios look pretty good, although Pale Fire Nectar could be a little more colourful..
But the reds and bronzes are stunning.
More wasted plastic sequins – more plastic into land-fills. I’ll buy lipsticks with less unnecessary junk packaging.
arrrrg! good point! guess i’ll have to forgo these :’(
They are good quality sequins. I save them all to give to my creative friends for their craft projects. I do wish the bags they came in were resealable so they didn’t have to be cut open and tossed away. The black packaging squiggles can definitely go away forever though.
Ughh, Lunar Bronze and Celestial Ruby are gorgeous, wish I could buy them as standalone glosses!
Owning blood 2 kept me from purchasing the Red trio although they look stunning. I love love the bronze trio. The look great against my milk chocolate skin. I was scared the pale fire nectar would be too light but it actually made it to my purse lip gloss section alongside my favs Buxom and Fenty.
The 2 new exclusive shades are also a new formula per the page on Sephora; something called Lust Lacquer
I prefer the four with higher color payoff in this bunch — I’m still working on Pale Fire Nectar from the PMG Skin Show Nudes gloss trio. I am still thinking about these sets though, I get a lot of use out of Pat’s glosses and I love switching it up between shades! The packaging weighs in on the “cons” list.
I don’t wear gloss enough to justify buying a three-pack. I do wish could buy Celestial Ruby individually, as I’m unable to wear regular red lipstick.
