We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Bobbi Brown Love in the Afternoon palette, Em Cosmetics Serum Blush in Soft Amethyst (on my lips as well), CoverFX Monochromatic Blush in Soft Peach, and Em Cosmetics Morning Dew Gloss in Quartz.
I’ve been dreaming about the soft peach blush. Is it worth it?
ColourPop All Star Mattefying Primer, Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage Foundation in F0.2, RCMA No Color Powder, Sephora Color Contour in Tranquil, Juvia’s Place The Tribe Palette (eyes, blush, and highlighter), UD 24/7 Eye Pencil in Perversion, UD Perversion Mascara, DIY setting spray, and Lime Crime Unicorn Lipstick in Soft Spot. Fragrance was Elizabeth & James Black Nirvana.
How do you like the mattifying primer? I’ve been wondering about it.
Hi, Katherine! I LOVE it! For reference, I have oily, aging, post-menopausal skin. I feel like it makes the skin surface look really smooth and makes my foundations look amazing. It keeps face oils from breaking through, but does not give a super-matte, dry, or cakey appearance. It’s lightweight and doesn’t have a heavy silicone feel.
ColourPop Going Coconuts palette, Clinique Cheek Pop blushes, MAC Lipsticks, Tarte Lights Camera Lashes mascara, Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliner, Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup, RCMA No Color Powder, Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil.
I can’t really remember for sure but I’m betting it was my new Natasha Denona Mini Glam palette mixed with a few shadows I already have – ND Dark Sepia and Smashbox Hundo (seems to have become my “go to” look) and MAC standbys – Sweet Sentiment Blush and Craving lipstick. I’ve also pulled out a very old but unused PUR Minerals mineral powder foundation – I still find powder foundations to be the easiest and quickest way to improve the look of my skin without looking like makeup.
On New Year’s Day, I only wore DE D-Bronzi. I just wanted something to give me just a touch of warmth.
PMG x Star Wars Dark Galaxy Palette, Melt Nevermore Blushlight, UD Bittersweet Afterglow Blush, MAC OtherEarthly highlighter, PMG Omi MatteTrance Lipstick, MAC Marbled Faun Lipglass.
The first makeup products I wore in 2020 were:
Pixi Beauty Reflex Light – the shades of Nude Lustre, Auburn Blaze and Cocoa Glaze
Covergirl Clean Air blush in Peach/coral shades
CP’s Gallop lipstick.
Chapstick’s Total Hydration Lip OIl in Subtle Pink (My lips are always on the brink of destruction in winter weather- this Chapstick product hides & treats a multitude of problems while looking good), Milani Soft & Sultry palette (eyes & brows) , my new DIY extensions from Lashify, and on old fave: Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Rose.
I didn’t go anywhere or see anyone on New Year’s Day, so I didn’t use any makeup (super rare for me).
When I got back to work, I used my Maybelline Urban Cover since I’m trying to finish that. It keeps feeling empty but keeps giving me enough for my whole face. Dose of Colors concealer, Elf Poreless Putty primer, My tried and true Nyx shadow base, some little 4 pan shadow palette that I got in Fashionsta Box (really pretty glitters in there), Benefit Precisely My Brow, ABH brow gel, CP lipliner in As If, Billion Dollar Brows brow highlighter, the deep cream blush in Natasha Denona’s Bloom Palette, a Morphe contour palette, Revolution Beauty Coconut baking powder, Maybelline City Bronzer in 300, a Space Case blush from an Ipsy bag (similar to a CP Super Shock Blush), Maybelline Master Chrome Highlight jelly in Rose (might be Rose Gold) topped with a highlight from a no-name palette from that Fashionsta box. Kat Von D (sorry, I know we all hater KVD but it was in my Boxy and it’s good) Trooper liner, a Mac mini lipstick from the Xmas collection – I don’t remember which shade, Tarte setting spray, L’Oreal lash primer, and the newest HG product I own – Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extension Mascara. If you haven’t tried that mascara yet, get on it. It’s a game changer.
I can’t believe it but I haven’t worn makeup yet this year. I will tomorrow evening. Dinner with old friends. It’s always fun.
I think it was the Balm What’s for Tea? Hot Tea palette (I waited until it was on sale to purchase). And a Burt’s Bee’s lipstick I bought in the States during Thanksgiving (so like Burt ! Ha!)
