How much do you keep up with new launches?

I try to keep up with the major ones and a select more indie/up-and-coming brands as there are a lot of brands around, so trying to keep up with everything is overwhelming.

Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Pretty good! Although it depends on the launch and whether or not it interests me. Some barely make a ding in my radar, while others can set off my OCD badly, for example; PMG x Star Wars ( I was so hyped up last night feeling happy for a few pals getting their stuff that I barely slept! Celebratory mood, I tell ya.?). And I do keep up with Natasha Denona, MAC, Chanel, Marc Jacobs, UD everything and anything.

I don’t know if it’s just the holidays, but MAC really slowed down with releases in the last months, especially with the limited edition collections. It’s easier to keep up. 😆
I really like that MAC `sat down` a little more to focus on promoting the re-launch of Studio Fix Fluid (and the now overwhelming shade range) and the new types of lip products (the Powder Kiss formula and now the Patent Paint Lip Lacquer). I feel like it this time for brands to focus on their core/permanent line of products, extend, improve, expand shades/selections, rather than throwing limited collection every month.

Not so much. I really only learn about them here, from you, Christine. I remember waaaay back in time, before the internet, when the place to learn about new launches was in the visually gorgeous but essentially uninformative ads in the fashion magazines (so many of which have folded now) and I’d so eagerly wait for the new ads from Estee Lauder, Charles of the Ritz (there’s a name from the past), Elizabeth Arden (which was then at the forefront of the industry). Now, I come here to see the best of what’s new and get your take on it but, once again, because I’ve got way too much stuff anyway, I don’t really “keep up” so much as wait to see if something amazing catches my eye (the last thing to do that was the Chanel quad for this holiday season, along with the new Natasha Denona mini you showed yesterday).

Because I’m following temptalia and a couple of beauty bloggers, information wise I’m quite up to speed with launches, although I lost track long ago with brands like Colourpop and Tarte (I sometimes enter Tarte website just to be amazed on how many products they have, especially skincare, almost no one hears about 😆 ).

Shopping wise, I’m not even trying to keep up; I buy new release maybe 1-5% of time, mostly I wait for more reviews or re-purchase old favorites. Also, since I buy products only to replace the ones I finish, most times even if I want a new launch, I’ll wait 1-2 months at least to finish current items.

The only way I keep up with new launches is to read about them here on this blog. Otherwise I would never know because we tend to get beauty products here in Aus in a more haphazard way, eg some products in a collection but not others. At our local Sephora, only 1/4 of PMG’s products are for sale…
Before I started reading Temptalia, I had no idea that brands such as UD, Tarte, Too Faced etc even existed. It was certainly an eye opener for me.

It is Christmas Day here in Aus and I would like to wish you, Christine and your family, a lovely Christmas.
To all of those who partake in this heavenly blog, a very safe and happy Christmas to you too.

Only ones that interest me… Since I’ve gotten older I go for more high end because I can and they actually work better for me…believe me dry wrinkly eyelids are troublesome so yo save time and make things easier I go for better formulas…. And the revolution and colorpop have way too many releases and I don’t bother with them

I only keep track of the brands I like. Since many brands are coming out with new launches at a dizzying rate, I simply can’t be bothered keeping track of them all and, to be perfectly honest, when I see reviews of brands in which I have no interest, I just skip over them.

I don’t exactly keep up with them but I will watch YT videos about new products for insight about how I can use my current products better since I am finding that everything looks the same once it’s on my face. I am interested in new launches of base products and skin care.

I follow Trendmood on IG and get alerts when she posts something new, so pretty much major and some of the indie ones show up in my phone notifications. for brands she doezsn’t seem to cover that I really like, I check out their website a few times a week. Same with Sephora. I generally check out Ulta’s new releases daily M-F.
