What's your current favorite bold eye color combination?
The last time I used brighter/bolder colors and loved the combo, it was actually using the Norvina Mini Vol. 2 palette–pink/red, green, and teal with pops of yellow.

I like to do a “citrus” eye, with orange in the inner corner, yellow in the center of the lid, and a little triangle of lime green in the outer third.
Sunset eyes, always. I love the combo of pinks/reds/oranges/purples maybe with a little bit of gold. It’s an easy scheme that can be REALLY intense or more toned down.
I don’t really like boldly colourful eye looks for myself. About the “boldest” I like to go is a rich teal/blue like some of UD’s lovely shades (Plunge) or MAC Birds & Berries, or else a more subtle green like MAC Humid or a purple like the one in NARS Kauai duo….those shades are about as colourful as I get and I generally pair them with more neutral shades, using them either in the crease or outer corner or under my lower lashes. Bold looks just aren’t my cup of tea, personally, for me.
There’s a sunset look I love to do in the summer when I’m going to the movies or doing something outside of the house. I’ll take teal-leaning blue shades and create a halo eye, and in the center I will pack on metallic orange or copper shades. Finish off with a wing, and there you have it. Bold and eye-catching.
I’ve been on a purple and green kick of late. Usually I don’t wear them together, but sometimes I will! PMG Gigabyte with Night Creature is a fun combo for when I want to go there, but keep it more smokey and mysterious looking. I will also pair something like Vermilion Venom (red) with the purple in the PMG Midnight Sun Palette.
My brights tend to be singles. I like to use Kryolan Viva Brilliant Color in Iridescent Lime with Tarteist Metallic in Dark Seas. The only palette with brights that I have is Viseart Petit Pro 5 Soleil. I use the bright matte yellow and the matte purple together, kind of like a purple iris. My eyes are deep set and I have a prominent brow bone so everything looks somewhat muted on me.
I’ve been into red smokey eyes the last couple months, using a shimmer or metallic on the lids, and maybe adding a little metallic gold.
Purple, green and gold! In any combo.
you from new orleans? that is mine also but i was born there. ???
My current favourite bold eye combo is when I use a foiled bronze over the lid, with an olive green or taupe on the lower lid, with a smidgeon of gold in the crease.
Christine…I look forward to every post to see your eye designs!!! I love how you make your eyeshadow looks look so beautiful and no matter how many colors you use, it all works. Your so talented, it looks like a work of art on your eye!!! Thank you for all the time and effort you put towards this site!!!
For me, I’m still learning and playing around with eyeshadow and have not yet mastered it. I’m very inspired by you and the love of a Smokey eye. When I try to use multiple and bolder colors, unfortunately it ends up looking like clown makeup. (No offense to clowns) I will keep watching experts, tutorials, and keep on practicing…hopefully one day I’ll make it work!!!
I have a royal blue Captain Marvel T-shirt with red and yellow icons-Captain Marvel, her plane, her energy blasts, stars, etc-scattered on it. When I wear it, I like to do a matching/coordinating red, cobalt, and acid green (the closest I can get to yellow and not wash out is either gold or acid green) eye. I usually do this using the UD Electric palette-Chaos, Slowburn (labeled as not eye safe, but UD customer service says it should be fine as an eyeshadow unless you’re tightlining with it and/or your eyes tend to be sensitive or irritate easily WRT shadows/pigments), and Thrash respectively.
No particular favorite bold eye, but you so inspire the creativity in me! This green-yellow-fuchsia is another good example! Really like it!
