PEARLY RED LIPSTICKS. I just feel like red is a classic, holiday kind of color, and then duh, add shimmer. I remember years ago, I’d always look forward to a great, MAC holiday shimmery, red lipstick. There actually aren’t THAT many (relative to how many reds and brands exist) exist in permanent ranges compared to matte reds.

For me, it would be a really exciting eye palette – maybe eyeshadows and a liner or two. But even so, it would have to be really, REALLY exciting and a good value because, as I’ve said so often before, I think I’ve reached “critical mass” with my makeup collection.

….yikes! I just checked and those beauties are all $53 here in Canada (plus taxes – that brings the price up to the $60 vicinity which is really steep for a lipstick). Sure is lovely, though.
Totally agree! I’d love a shimmery red that didn’t turn pink on me or fade to a weird patchy mess. I’ve given up on reds at this point.
I’m the same Kitty, very few reds work on me. Clarin’s Joli Rouge Red Terra is a good one.
Products i’m interested in! (Just joking…but not really). My birthday is in October so i like to treat myself to some of the holiday releases but there is honestly nothing that i’m interestes in. My usual go-to’s hourglass, kevyn aucoin, nars, mac aren’t interesting to me this year. Im missing face palettes where i feel like i would use all of the shades and lip kits for the nars velvet lip glide which has been my fav formula of late. May pick up something from the chantecaille holiday launch when that is released but nothing else is drawing me in

Silvers! I want to see more silvery eyeshadow palettes to reflect the iciness of the season, lol. Don’t get me wrong, warm-toned palettes are totally on point for this time of year, but I’m still feeling a little bit of burnout with reds and golds. Maybe a silver and gold palette for the best of both worlds?
Did you happen to see Colourpop’s latest release of the 9 pan color palette? It’s basically all silvers.
You’re definitely correct about shimmery red lipstick! And always a deeper, richer red cream or matte from MAC, too!
This year it does feel like something is “off”. Cannot quite put my finger on it, but I do sense something(s) are missing. Usually, MAC at least picks up any slack left in the wake by the other brands holiday offerings. Not sensing that they will this year just based off of sneak peeks I’ve been seeing floating around on IG. I hope there’s more that we just haven’t seen yet.
I agree, Nancy. It just doesn’t seem as exciting this year. I am with you in that I can’t put my finger on what it is but I am usually so much more pumped for holiday releases and very little has even gotten a second look from me. I am looking towards more Indie brands for more unusual things. Rachel is my Indie brand guru so I stalk her hauls, LOL!
I am finding all of the holiday releases to be underwhelming…hoping that’s not it for this year! The only thing I’m remotely attracted to is the Tarte Winter Wonderglam palette, and only after swatching the glitter shades in Sephora. I’d like to find a smaller (cheaper) palette with just those glitters!
I’ve been a little bored with my makeup collection lately but also trying to stick to a budget, so I don’t want to splurge unless it’s something I really want and really feel like I’ll use to it’s full potential.
I would love it if there was an Urban Decay, MAC, or Bite Beauty mini lip liner set. I would love to fill out what I own with some travel sized ones.
Shimmery red lipstick is definitely missing. Anything really festive and dazzling seems to be in short supply this year.
Wouldn’t you think Pat McGrath’s BlitzTrance reds qualify for the shimmery lipsticks? I also liked the Chatecaille Polar Ice sparkle lipsticks, but those were released in the Spring and are sold out now, which I am wondering if they will bring back for the Fall/Holiday season.

Hmm – you are quite right Christine, I haven’t seen a good creamy red for awhile now. I just don’t want the red lipstick to turn pink on me.
Nars and Dior have shimmery red lip sticks in their holiday collections. There’s a lot of great holiday collections coming out. But I haven’t seen any fragrance holiday stuff yet. I’d like to see some perfume sets that include lotions or mini purse size additions. Wish Tom Ford did body creams for the holidays!
I’m not seeing anything this year that I really like. Maybe the Hourglass blush quad, but I’d have to swatch it first. I usually look for good skincare sets, but I haven’t seen many of those yet. Hopefully, more collections will come out. If not…money saved!
