Look, I like Viseart and think they’re great quality, but I am so done with a) rainbow palettes & b) huge palettes. I’m out. I’m just sick of these.

Alex Avatar

This is geared towards pros, even the way they are calibrated and arranged. It completes the neutrals and intense darks of GP1. Also, being magnetic, they can be rearranged into custom palettes.

Only positive thing about these is that Viseart has empty palettes for these. You can carry your own 12 pan. And these aren’t crazy bulky.
I still like the first edition the best.

Nancy, my thoughts exactly! I immediately thought “where are the purples??” How do you do a 30 pan palette that is intentionally a rainbow palette without purple?

Lucie Avatar

I have no use for at least a third of the colors in this palette (different story if I was a MUA or a younger, far more creative version of myself not in an office job), but of all the mega/rainbow(ish) palettes to have come out in the last couple of months, this is at least visually appealing. I can appreciate a nice layout and by color and hue. It just clearly is intended for a different target audience than I am in, but I appreciate it for what it is – it looks very nice.

Definitely will consider picking this up in next year’s BTGT sale at Muse Beauty. Out of the 3 Grande Pro palettes, it’s the one I am drawn to the most. Despite this being a rainbow palette, I think the gradient is useful especially for someone who does not have a lot of shadows. I can’t wait to see your review on it as well as comparisons for dupes. I just picked up Milieu and the Editorial Brights and I can see a few similar shades across the two palettes already just from these stock photos; I hope they’re not too similar though.

Okay, so I think this concept is gorgeous. I love that the left side appears decidedly cool toned with the right being warm toned (assuming they swatch that way and I have been fooled before!). The shade range between those mixes appears to be very good with the exception of a good brow bone highlight on the cool toned side. In general, Viseart shadows are good quality and I know they are not marketing their shadows as stand alone palettes.
Now for the reasons I won’t be buying this! There are too many similar shades within each side of the palette. That seems to be my pet peeve lately and maybe I am too focused on it but the top of the “cool” toned side appears to read as pretty much just a black shade. Some of the orange/red shades on the warm side do not have enough colour variation and will read the same on the eyes. The cost and size are the main reason’s for skipping. Viseart shadows are not cheap and while they are good quality I think the brand values themselves a bit more than what they actually are worth. The size of the palette means that I would not use it for travelling and I would doubt that I would get it out at home when there are more manageable sized palettes in the drawer next to it!
Having said all of that, if this reviews well and it turns out that the shades are more unique than they look in the pan, I might consider it but for $175 probably not. I can buy a lot of other makeup and eye shadow palettes for that kind of money.

If this reviews well, I am planning to get this. Apart from the orange row, these are shades that I love and wear– especially in the cool toned half of the palette. I love the yellow row too. And the cooler toned red and orange rows– would be curious to see if they could be use as a blush. I would probably make a smaller palette for the teals and greens and add the yellows to my existing palette with Absinth and mustard shades. I am not doing the pre-order because the shipping timing is not good for me, but will hope to pick it up after you review it, Christine. For me, this has far more usable shades than a number of the other palettes this season. I put that down to Anastasia V. Sparrow’s having heard our pleas for greens. And even though it is pricey, I do love these shades and want to support her efforts to expand their color offerings.

The Makeup Revolution x Alexis Stone Instinct palette looks very similar, that I’m pretty sure that has both pink and purple in it. It’s not Viseart quality or price though, so there is that…

I don’t do rainbow palettes (I got the Colourpop one for free MONTHS ago and still haven’t even touched it) so I don’t need either 😀 (I did snatch up the MR Alexis Transformation palette though!)

Ehem…Viseart,
Back when the dinosaurs roamed the earth (when I was in elementary school!), we were taught the colors of the “light spectrum”, aka “rainbow”.
All of the colors could be remembered by the mnenomic device
ROY G BIV.
R=red O=orange Y=yellow
G=green
B=blue I=INDIGO V=VIOLET
Since you have obviously omitted the Indigos and the Violets in your “Rainbow Pallette”, I will assume that Grande Pro 4 will be a breathtaking 30 pan collection exclusively consisting ONLY of indigo and violet shades.
Saving the best for last, eh Viseart????

Anastasia Avatar

Guys, these palettes are about the size of a ND 15 pan palette, the $129 ones — so its not big. I hope there’s a bundle deal with the 1st Grande Pro. But omg, if they make a purple -pink-indigo one next yr!!

Valerie Avatar

It’s a pretty good color story that makes sense internally, at least compared with the recent ABH pro release. Agree purples would make it a better story, but it’s decently cohesive. I already have the Viseart brights palette and barely use it. But I’ll probably pick this up at some point, if only for those greens, teals, and pastel colors ?
