ColourPop Orange You Glad Palette Swatches
ColourPop Orange You Glad Palette ($12.00 for 0.36 oz.) is the newest palette in the brand’s monochromatic series, and this one features shades of orange (well, per the brand). There are two shimmer eyeshadows, one Pressed Glitter, and five matte shades. Three of the matte shades are Pressed Pigments (Rise N Grind, Sunkiss’d, Mimosa Mami), so they are “not intended for use in the immediate eye area,” and Clementine, the Pressed Glitter, carries the same warning.
I didn’t think I would like this until I saw your eye look with it. Oranges aren’t colours I normally reach for.
The swatches look great! I suppose the glitters are going to be in every 9-pan monochrome palette now. That part sucks, though the glitters are beautiful. I just hate getting “cheated” out of an eyeshadow/pigment, since they are not eye safe. For the price, I can’t complain too much.
I totally agree I’m not a fan of glitters much and the not eye safe makes me wary.
I love it but I refuse to use the shades that are not intended for use in the eye area so there is no point in me buying this palette.
Because of that stupidly dangerous pressed glitter, I’m getting Huda’s instead! Like; WHY ColourPop?!? Not everyone who buys this will have checked for warnings, nor read/watched reviews warning about it. Very irresponsible of the brand, if you ask me.
Oh Nancy T you are so right! This seriously makes me so angry. Maybe it sounds stupid but I used to figure I was fine purchasing something advertised as an eye palette. Selling an eye palette that’s unsafe for use in the immediate eye area…what an insult. Would this be considered an oxymoron? Seems ColourPop thinks it’s customers are morons. That eye look is gorgeous but I have nightmares of that glitter scratching my eyeballs. I never read up on stuff before coming here unless I had a bad reaction. If you think about it, the entire eye area isn’t really that big. I don’t want to take the chance. Besides, there are plenty of eye palettes in the sea!
I don’t prefer warm tones on my skin, but WOW is this beautiful to look at. Heck, for the price I might get it just to play with. I bought the UR Thriving Lux Lipstick and it pulls quite orangey on me and I think this palette + that lipstick could create some beautiful monochromatic looks. I have disliked the glitter on all previous 9 pans, but for some reason I like this one and how you did it under your eye is very pretty.
I don’t get the inclusion of the glitter shade but damn I can rock an orange eye look haha!

This is a such cute palette, but all those shades in the mid-tone range make it a one trick pony. I wish CP would do like they did w It's My Pleasure (purple mono) and its really nice balance of light, mid and deep…for $12, that was seriously cohesive w great depth…the green one (Just My Luck) runs a close second, IMHO. Cute as this is, it's lazy like the yellow one. They're super cute at a glance and in theory, but lacking in depth. In the CP orange game, Sol did it better.
Color-wise It brought up the inevitable comparison to Huda Topaz, and running it through your palette comparison matrix brought up 6 shades in CP that dupe/are closest to all the Huda mid-tones. Bullet dodged. 😀
Guess I can wait for dupes, but I big love orange. I have no problem with the unsafe eye pigments, oddly enough, because I have more allergies than IQ points… and would use everything except the true glitter topper. Haven’t fallen for a CP mono yet, though. Do like the concept, but like everyone else, could do without the glitter. Your look is glorious.
Is it just me – looking at the palette I feel like they have many colours they’ve released very similar to these. Also less than impressed that Colourpop keep putting shades that aren’t eye safe in their palettes – in thiscase 4 out of the 9!

Non eye safe eyeshadow shades are really a no- no and Clementine is a bit of a fail. Personally I am not too keen on the whole orange palette – because you really do have to use other palettes to complement it and it does seem to need more lighter and darker shades.
I’m curious, what is the purpose of shades not intended for the immediate eye area? I genuinely don’t understand how they’re supposed to be used.
At this point, brands put the warning to cover themselves legally (whether it’s enough, I’m not sure – I don’t think it’s been tested in court), because they’re using ingredients that aren’t approved for use on the eye in the US (so by the FDA). From what I have seen, the ingredients found in “Pigment” products aren’t restricted in the EU but are restricted in the US so it seems “safe” by certain regulatory bodies.
A lot of the ones I have from other companies have this label. I use them on my eyes and I have a lot of allergies, nothing happens. Some of those non-eyesafe pigments stain the skin, but I use a primer and haven’t really had this problem.
Over here in Europe we don’t even have those warnings about products being safe for the eyes or not. I believe this is something only the FDA say because they’re a bit out of date on the whole cosmetics front. I’ve been wearing glitter and pigments and all things apparently not eye safe right on my eyelids for decades and I’m not dead yet soooo….
I”m on the fence about this palette. Would it work as a compliment to UD Naked Heat?
