  • Haul/Rediscoveries: Natasha Denona Liquid Chroma Crystal Eyeshadows, Melt Blushes/Highlighters (x4), Natasha Denona Tropic Mini… next week’s haul will be massive, though…
  • Weekend plans: Work through some of the Nordstrom beauty exclusives!
  • Do you have any vacations planned?: Nope! Going on vacation is almost like a punishment, since I have to put in 18-20 hour days for every day I’m gone. I don’t sleep well as it is, and I sleep even worse (like 1-2 hours) in hotels, so I basically loathe going on “vacation.”

Haul: I found the ND Biba for a good price, so I splurged on that since I did a purge of my neutral palettes. I know I’ll get a lot of use out of it; Perricone MD No Lipstick Lipstick (hopefully the shade works for me), and Paula’s Choice Super Light Daily Wrinkle Defense SPF 50.

Rediscoveries: I’m back on the Physician’s Formula The Healthy Foundation, I love it so much and use it as my concealer as well! It especially looks beautiful with really moisturized and prepped skin.

Weekend plans: I have a friend coming in to town that I haven’t seen in a year. So excited!

Do you have any vacations planned?: My family and I are planning a vacation to WDW at the end of January. We’re not fans of hot weather, so we tend to go to slightly warmer climates in the fall/winter.

Marti Avatar

Haul: Saucebox eyeshadow singles! I’ve played with a few and they are nice and soft some shades have been prone to sheering but do build up with some patience.

Weekend plans: I have some family coming in from out of town so it’ll be a busy weekend. Although with 4 kids and a dog I can’t actually remember not being busy!

Vacations: going to Japan in October and the kids are staying with my parents! I can’t wait!

And hello, I’m new! Christine I love your blog and all of the work you do is so appreciated!

Kira Avatar

Haul/Rediscoveries: Kat Von D Eyebrow pomade in Scarlet. I don’t love Kat Von D, but I’ve been really wanting to try the Japanese trend with a dot of color in the middle of your lower lash line that my friend Rin Rin Doll does 🙂
Weekend plans: Picnic, firefly watching, and maybe the beach!
Do you have any vacations planned?: I’m a little frustrated that my boyfriend had a hard time picking a date or location, so this year I don’t have any planned. Brooklyn is vacation enough for me though since there’s so much for this Philly girl to see!

Nancy T Avatar

Sweet Mellan standing at attention, although I cannot tell what he sees or hears… Coyote? Bunny? Bobcat? Food?

Haul: Packages have been arriving intermittently. One last package due to arrive today containing PMG Lady Stardust Blitztrance and Heavy Petal LUST Gloss. I did buy the Sephora half priced Anastasia Brow Whiz pencil in Ebony. Very subtle and more natural looking than my usual brow pencil! Also, MAC Marble Faun Lipglass. WOW! Very interesting mix of gold and silver microglitter!

Weekend plans: Just my usual M.O. Hair, maybe nails, and meeting on Sunday. Would love to go see a movie with one of my kids, for a nice change…

Vacation? I wish! Although I have the same issues with sleeping in hotels as you do, Christine. A little better at 3-5 hours per night, after a usually sleepless first night. Hotel beds are the bane of my existence! But, I so want to get together with some of my East Coast friends and visit the shore!

Haul: a bunch more little travel things for our trip. Yes To grapefruit glow sheet masks so when my parents are here next week mom and I can do masks one night.

Rediscovery: My Saucebox singles! I stuck them in a Z palette and they got shoved in the back of my palette drawer. I reorganized a little bit this week and was like oh yeah I love these! Made sure they got put in with my other loose singles so I’d use them more often 🙂

Weekend Plans: Deep clean the garage and all the vehicles.

Vacation plans: We’re going to Europe for 3 weeks in September – we’ll be visiting Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, France, and the Netherlands. Partly exploring on our own, partly with another couple, and 1 week is a Viking river cruise on the Rhine.

Kitty Avatar

He does crinkle! So cute!

Haul: ColourPop Brown Sugar palette and single shades Sideline, Mr. Sandbar and Tiny Tangerines.

Weekend plans: work in garden (weeding, pulling up invasive plants, etc.), make lasagna, change/wash bed sheets.

Yes, we’ve got short term and long term vacation plans. We’re retired now and this is the prime time (health wise) for us to travel. Next vacation will be a road trip loop through some nearby states that we haven’t visited yet. We just got done doing three one-week or longer trips the last three months so are taking a break for a couple months I think.

Haul: This is my haul from just arriving in Seattle. Frankly, I haven’t found that much that I really wanted to pick up. The only thing I am still looking at is the La Mer cushion foundation. So, Sephora: Sunday Riley Good Genes, Cover FX Monochromatic Blushes in Mohave Mauve, Sephora collection Rouge Lip Tint in 01 Rose and 08 Red, Ciate Marbled Metal Eye Shadows in Entwine and Wicked, Dior Rouge Blush in the shade 999 and Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Fog which I may return before I leave Seattle. It swatched more grey but on my eyes it is pulling a bit blue and not a blue I love so likely will return. I am waiting to shop the Nordstrom sale to pick up other things on my lips but I did go through and look at what I am interested in. I looked at the Tom Ford sale items and was a little meh in person. Nordstrom’s here doesn’t have any of the Dior Backstage products so that is a bust and La Mer at the Tacoma Mall doesn’t carry the cushion so will likely have to go to downtown Seattle. So far, not wowed by anything.

Weekend plans: I am seeing Adam Lambert and 1/2 of Queen tonight at the Tacoma Dome. It is the reason for the trip here in the first place. I didn’t get to see them when Freddie was alive and John was touring with them. I was working relentlessly through the 80’s and always thought I would have plenty of time to see them. If something really speaks to your heart, don’t delay. So much can go wrong and you can never get that experience back. I was talking to a friend about it yesterday and actually started crying in a restaurant! Tonight is going to be amazingly emotional. To be in the same room with Brian and Roger is a life long dream. I have tickets for the floor, middle section and row 5 so will be relatively close. The remainder of the weekend will be shopping and then heading home to Montana.

Vacation plans: I don’t have anything huge planned yet. My daughter and I are still talking about trying to go back to Europe in December and spending Christmas in London and New Year in Paris. I am trying to decide how much I am willing to spend and since it is the holidays, it may prove more expensive than I want to go. We are going to California in October so she can see The Jonas Brothers. I think I mentioned here on the blog that they were the first real “band” that my daughter saw. She was in middle school and I bought tickets to see them and for her to bring a friend. She chose her best friend, Laurie, and I had a devil of a time talking Laurie’s mom into letting her go on a school night. The band hadn’t hit it big yet and they were playing a small venue in Sacramento. They had to cancel due to an illness and rescheduled. They hit it big just before their return date so the girls got to see this hugely popular boy band in a small venue at the height of their popularity. Well, they are back together and touring and they are coming to Sacramento so the two girls got tickets and are going to relive their first concert experience together. I purchased tickets for them to see High School Musical, One Direction,
Ed Sheeran and a few other tours. They have a lot of history together and are both really looking forward to seeing the old “favorite boy band”. It also gives me the opportunity to visit some friends.

AJ Avatar

Given what you said about missing Queen in the 80s, I think it’s lovely that you’ve helped your daughter and her friend see their favorite bands so they won’t have the same regrets later (though I hope none of their beloved musicians die tragically young like Freddie Mercury).

Nancy T Avatar

Deborah, I sure do hope that you thoroughly enjoy the Queen w/ Adam Lambert concert! Nothing beats watching a favorite band play live, that’s for sure. Definitely know what you mean about regretting not catching one of their shows while Freddie was still alive. I only got to see him on TV with his phenomenal Live Aid show. Wish I’d gone in person, too. But life, y’know? Now my son wants to go to see the Stones last tour show in August… however, I’m looking at going to see Joan Jett and Heart instead. I’m torn! I do realize that the Rolling Stones is a once in a lifetime experience, though.

Genevieve Avatar

I sincerely hope you love the show, I have heard it is very good. You are quite right about seeing artists when you can. My husband is an avid Elvis fan and really regrets not seeing him in concert in Hawai when he was able to.
Brian May is actual quite brilliant, he recently received his doctorate in astrophysics at Oxford univerity, I think.
I feel like I am like you when it comes to visiting some big makeup stores – most of the shades are just not for me and I find that there is nothing much I really like – a big letdown sometimes.

Seraphine Avatar

Mellan is so adorable!

Haul: Tarte Unleashed Eye Palette. I love this palette so much! Not only is the lenticular packaging gorgeous and sturdy, the shades are all beautiful, and perfect for creating varied looks. To make this purchase even better, I used a Macy’s $10 reward that I had earned recently.

Weekend plans: Giving a makeup lesson to a family member, chores, relaxing.

Do you have any vacations planned? Not until 2020, though we’ll probably do a long weekend trip at some point later in the year.

Wendy Avatar

Haul: I haven’t been purchasing much this year. But I finally cashed in my Ulta points. I spent it mostly on skincare, but I did select the NARS Voyageur palette in Suede and I replaced my ancient Viva Glam I lipstick with the one in the 25th Anniversary packaging.
During the 20% off sale I rebought the Pat McGrath mini Subliminal palette in Platinum Bronze. It’s my favorite palette. I dropped it onto hard tile, and the plastic fell out of the packaging and one color was wrecked. I had the dumb idea to depot the rest. I wrecked 2 more shadows.
Rediscoveries: I have been using my three products from MAC’s Fruity Juicy almost daily. It is such a fun summer collection. The Love in the Glades eyeshadow palette is wonderful. Cool and sultry! The Oh My Passion powder is probably going to reach the end of its life at the end of this summer. And Si Si Me lipstick is pretty.
Weekend plans: Cleaning, a trip to the farmers’ market, and a re-showing of the original Star Wars movie with my family on Sunday.
Vacation plans: Driving my youngest and his stuff back to Chicago for college. Hoping to squeeze in a day of fun after we drop him off.

Haul:

Maria Nila Stockholm Sheer Silver Shampoo, conditioner, and hair mask. I have been growing my grey out for 13 months now. It is not very grey, just a mix of faded-looking dark with some dull grey and just a little white. I have very curly hair that grows painstakingly slow, so it will be two years or longer before this process is complete (if I make it that long, lol.) I decided to give silver shampoo and conditioner a roll to see if it would make my greys a little prettier. The salon girl was gushing about this particular line (Maria Mila Stockholm) so I decided to go with her recommendation. I gotta admit, it gave me pause when I read the instructions that told me to wear gloves and warning that the products could cause blindness. So far I’ve used these products twice with no visible difference. Or wait, maybe I can’t see the difference because I’m losing my vision???

Denman Cushion Brush. All the curly haired ladies I follow on YouTube and Instagram have been raving about this brush. FYI, if one’s hair is truly curly, there is no scenario where brushing dry hair is a good thing, with maybe Halloween or costume parties being the exceptions. But you can brush product through your hair when it’s wet, and this brush is pretty freaking awesome for increasing the definition of my curls and reducing frizz. On wash day, that is. Every day after wash day is still a choose-your-own-adventure situation, where my hair gets to choose the adventure and I am forced to go along for the ride.

MAC Electric Wonder Life in Sepia lipstick and Rock Starz Lipglass. This was one of those immediate Oh My God No moments where I ran for a wet wipe to remove these items from my lips. Either my lips or my face instantly turned the color of grey-green olives, I don’t know which, I was in too much of a hurry to get it off my lips. I will give this combo one more try in the fall, and if they still make me green, they will get passed on to my pale grand daughter, who will probably look stunning in these colors.

UD Sparkle Out Loud lip gloss in Hot Love. Meh. Probably another one I will pass on to my granddaughter.

Rediscoveries:

Does anyone remember the MAC’s 2014 Sharon and Kelly Osbourne collection? I accidentally ordered the Kelly Osbourne blush Cheeky Buggar blush when I meant to order the Sharon Osbourne one. There is no way this blush should have shown up on my medium warm skintone, but it does, and it is one of my favorite pink blushes of all time. Happy accident.

I dug out my classic Guerlain Terracotta Bronzer in 03 this week and damn, this bronzer is still gorgeous!

I pulled out MAC’s Strange New Worlds powder from their 2016 Star Trek collection this week and was blown away by how pretty this is on the cheeks. One of the prettiest cheek products I’ve ever owned. I am now committed to keeping it in rotation for the remainder of summer.

Weekend: I think it all started and ended with the Nordstrom anniversary sale. I did some serious online shopping this morning at Nordstrom. This year I ordered the Tom Ford set with the eyeshadow palette, eyeliner, mascara and lip. I regretted it last year so I decided to go for it this year. I picked up a couple other beauty items, two coats, four pair of shoes, and some of those Wubby sweatshirts.

Other weekend: Celebrating my husband’s 59th and grandaughter’s 14th birthday party. It’ll be a big party with lots of food and cake. I am surprising my granddaughter with the Anastasia Soft Glam Palette and the Benefit Cheekleaders Bronze palette.

Vacation: Saving all my vacation time this year for my youngest son’s September/October visit. He will be finishing Air Force Tech school in Mississippi and will be home with us for a couple weeks before heading off to his first base in Idaho.

AJ Avatar

Haul: Nothing this week, but I did spend last night at the spa with a friend who received two day passes for her birthday. Ahhhhh.

Rediscovery: I rediscovered that I look oddly good in teal lipstick. Going to test all of the teals I have and see which is the best on me. It was ABH’s liquid lipstick in Requiem that spurred this, but it was my first time wearing that particular color.

Weekend plans: Tomorrow night we’ve got tickets to see Eddie Izzard, and Sunday night we’re going to a five-course meal hosted by one of our favorite restaurants and one of our favorite ice cream places (a big splurge to celebrate a couple bits of good news my partner has recently received). Weather and schedule allowing we’re also hoping to get in a short hike. And of course the usual weekend errands and chores!

Do I have any vacations planned? I’m going down to Portland for a dance festival in a couple of weeks and then to New Mexico for a week-long dance retreat. Wish my partner and I could take a vacation together, just the two of us, but friends and family sort of ate up all of our potential travel time this year :/

Haul/Nordstrom Anniversary Sale:
PMD Clean Facial Cleansing Device
Herbivore Emerald, Orchid and Phoenix oils
Herbivore Pink, Blue and Charcoal cleansing soaps
Shiseido Eyelash curler
Tom Ford Soleil Eye, Lip and Face set
Tom Ford Eye and Mini Lip set
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Kit – my first CT purchase
Lancome Bi-Facil Trio

Weekend plans: The usual chores and just laying low this weekend which I’m glad for – we’ve been going, going, going lately. I’ll do my masks and nails on Sunday. I’m hoping for it to be very leisurely but if my parents call for a visit, I won’t say no.

Vacation plans: We’ve been doing little day-cations or overnight stays but then home again the next day. I am preferring that lately. I do a lot better with packing for only overnight and next day because any more than 2 days and I pack the same as I would for a week stay.

Haul/Rediscoveries:
—-KGD Long Lush Treatment Mascara (25% off on their site). Such beautiful packaging but the stuff is hard to remove so it won’t be my everyday mascara.
—-Good Molecules niacinamide brightening toner. I am looking to simplify my skin care and I am hoping this can replace TO Niacinamide serum and Maelove Glow Maker. Plus Beautilish sent a free mini Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo.
—-Ulta sale: First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream minis, Real Techniques foundation blender brush and face + body blender brush, and not on sale, Cover Girl SuperThick Lash waterproof mascara

Weekend plans: The usual farmer’s market visit. Nothing else planned. It has been a lazy summer.

Vacation plans? None for the summer. I really don’t want to leave my kitties. I need to figure out some day trips.

Wednesday Avatar

Haul: I just quickly grabbed the ND Tropic mini and a couple of Oribe hair products. I do not seem to have much of anything on my radar lately. I’m down with that. Once again I’m noticing an influx of new foundations, but I’m waiting for… the ONE… you know…

I also want to do a shout out for Syndey Grace because I have been pressed for time this week and relying on quick looks to pull myself together. I’m so impressed by their cream shadow, Glory. It’s everything the ND liquid eyeshadow Nightfall is not. It takes me seconds to press this into my lid and blend into crease with a brush. I add a bit of a Mcubed (mandatory matte mid-tone) shadow to push back my hoods and I’m done. The tube splooges out a bit too much product, but you need the teensiest amount because the product is beautifully pigmented!

Weekend plans: Relax, I just got shot up with a wack of vaccinations because sadly my autoimmune has reared its ugly head and I am no longer in remission. I am participating in drug study and will be back on a biologic med as soon as possible in order to mitigate joint damage. I cannot play piano right now, let alone twist off a lid. They are getting me locked and loaded before I start my new medication. Been there done it and cannot wait to start feeling better again.

Vacation: wot dat? My dogs prevent me from making any commitment to travel and they are so worth the sacrifice. I travelled very extensively in my 30’s and enjoy a more grounded lifestyle in my 50’s. I have a few trips I would like to take at some point; a river cruise in the Baltic region, a train trip through the Canadian rockies.. someday.

Maggie Avatar

Haul/Rediscoveries: colourpop order: fame palette, Ursula highlighter, drop of a hat blush, songbird Lippie stix, jelly shadows in cursed and hallucinogenius. The jelly shadows feel quite soothing to put on so that’s a pleasant surprise. Skincare: Timeless vitamin C serum, differin, blue lizard SPF, Paula’s choice SPF 30.

Weekend plans: library and a beach walk. Lots of cleaning and tidying!

Vacation Plans: meant to go camping this weekend but not feeling well enough to drive 9 hours to camp in summer desert climate. Bummed that I had to miss out.

CeeBee Avatar

Haul: Pat McGrath Subversive palette, all the new Colourpop lip tint crayon things (though they haven’t arrived yet), a big bunch of cheap and cheerful Revolution Pro primers and lipsticks and cheek colours that I have yet to sort through, some Sephora matte lip colours, LA Girl Feverish eyeshadow palette (LOVE), Marc Jacobs Omega All Over Foil Luminizer in Gilty (super pretty!) and I ordered Sonia G Builder One and Builder Pro from Beautylish yesterday…

Weekend plans: Absolutely nothing. The last 3 weeks have been a bit frantic with various members of my family in and out of hospital (they’re all okay, one might be blind, but we’ll see ha ha whoops! <- he would think that's funny…) so it will be nice to have some time to myself to decompress.

Going on vacation: Yes, I going to the beach in 2 weeks! It's winter here but it's free accommodation and it will be good to get away from the daily grind for a bit. Also planning to go to Niue later this year but I have to get my passport sorted first!

Genevieve Avatar

You have hauled yourself some really pretty things CeeBee to offset the winter weather and make you all colourful and bright.
I hope your family members are recovering well – it is tricky when a few of them are in and out of hospital and it is quite exhausting, what with the travelling to the hospital, finding a car park etc. So it is good for you to do nothing at all.
Best wishes to NZ in the World Cup – I am supporting them (always have when they have played Aus. The Australian cricket team, I find, has been so arrogant in the past decade that they deserve to lose a few matches).

Genevieve Avatar

Mellon, standing to attention – how adorable he is!
Haul: I couldn’t believe it this week, I ran out of cleanser! I usually have my skincare bag full of goodies, and I do have lots of other products, but not cleansers.
Picked up Swisse Sweet Almond cream cleanser, Cetaphill Gentle cream cleanser and I am looking for some others.
Rediscoveries: None really this week. Just using whatever suits my outfits at the moment.

Weekend Plans: Friday – we had Lachlan over and between showers and wind gusts, we made a couple of visits to the park behind our place. Lachlan’s sweet comment: ” It’s not fair that Daddy has a brother like David, I want David to be my brother so I can play with him in the mornings”…..
Saturday – Freezing cold and wet is the order of the day. Just shopping and housework.
Sunday – hopefully a drive out to the local hills for lunch. My favourite thing to do.

Vacation: Yes, my eldest son David and I are going on a road trip in late July right up the East coast of Australia to the very tip of Cooktown and then we are heading back inland. I will be about 6 weeks of travelling, with lots of stops along the way. I cannot wait.

Genevieve Avatar

Yep, Mariella it is going to be a long trip and up the East coast of Aus (from Melbourne) will take awhile. Mostly we only plan to drive 3-4 hours a day and have rest days every few days. We have all the tourist attractions planned and booked too. So exciting.

Genevieve Avatar

Thank you Denise, Lachlan is at that beautiful age where he comes out with some pure gold. Like when he was waiting for my husband to come out of the bathroom to put together his new balance bike, it was like “What’s he doing in there? How long does it take him to do his business? It only takes me 5 minutes!”
Some of my friends thought their children weren’t interested in having kids either, but lately a few have changed their minds. So hopefully it will happen with you too. I can see you being a wonderful nanna Denise.

Genevieve Avatar

It will be lovely Rachel because I have never been to the far North before, only to the Gold Coast and Brisbane, and that was a few years ago.
If you come to Australia Rachel, the best time is between April to September, otherwise it is extremely hot, the monsoon season comes to the Northern parts of NSW and Qld – lots of humidity.
Our winters aren’t as cold as yours, I think, although it can get chilly.
I hope your road trip is going really well.

Rachel R. Avatar

Sorry for the late reply! Internet was extremely spotty during my trip. We were in mountains, canyons, and basins much of the time.

I’m glad you’ll get to go somewhere new on your trip. It will be hard not to overpack for that long of a trip. Layers, I suppose?

Thank you for the weather advice. I didn’t even know about the monsoons. Oregon winters are usually pretty moderate, but I’ve been through some super cold ones, too. I’d rather avoid snow and ice, though.

Mariella Avatar

Haul: I wasn’t planning on buying anything at all but was in Winners “just looking” in case a product I’ve been hunting for turns up there. Well, I didn’t find that BUT I did find Becca Luminous Blush in Foxglove for $12.99! Considering it sells here for $45, there was no way I wasn’t going to buy it. I wanted it very much when it first launched and then passed on it but I am so happy to have found it. I also got a nice free gift sent to me by Sephora (though maybe this was last week – can’t recall if I already posted about it) – the Huda Beauty Gemstone eyeshadow palette! That’s all, folks!

Weekend plans: I’ve a friend staying (she arrived early today and is staying til Sunday). We went out to celebrate her retirement today and did some fabric and pattern shopping; tomorrow she’s going with me and my husband to the gym then we’re coming home, showering and heading out to visit an historic house in my city followed by more fabric and pattern shopping and then dinner downtown. Sunday we might go to the Royal Botanical Gardens after brunching out at a favourite place.

Vacation plans: hubs and I already went to Ottawa for a few days’ getaway. But I can’t abide the heat so don’t really like travelling in the summer – how can you enjoy sightseeing and exploring when it’s 35C and unbearable? So since I can book off whenever I like and he’s got some holiday days still available but has a messy big trial starting in the fall, we’ll fit in some sort of holiday at some point in the late autumn. Our “big” trip will be next spring or early summer to Denmark and perhaps Norway.

Genevieve Avatar

What a lovely weekend you have planned with your friend and celebrating her retirement so joyfully. I am sure she is going to love every single minute of it.
I cannot do sightseeing and so on when it is hot either, I just swelter and find I get heat exhaustion so easily. I much prefer exploring during autumn or winter myself. Spring is OK too. I hope the weather hasn’t been too hot for you.
That’s a good find at Winners – it’s a beautiful shade and should look really good on you.

Rachel R. Avatar

Haul:. I didn’t buy anything this week, but some orders arrived on Monday.
*Sephora #Lipstories in Margs
*Nomad Cosmetics Berlin Underground and Tokyo Harajuku Palettes
*Nordstrom Rack — Too Faced Throwback Lipstick in Miss Thing, Stila Color Balm Lipstick in Becky, and Lime Crime Velvetines Metallic Liquid Lipstick in Mercury

Weekend plans:. Still on our camping vacation. We’ll be checking out more National parks and pretty scenery, and maybe visiting the Moab giants. We had a couple days of nothing but disasters, including having to have the entire A/C system in our truck replaced. Delays, stress, and $$$$$. Things are going much better now. (Knock on wood!)

Do you have any vacations planned?: I’m on vacation right now. We’re in Utah with our two sons visiting national parks and dinosaur stuff. then we’re going to stargaze in Kodachrome Basin. We went to the Dinosaur National Monument and saw the fossils wall, and did a self-guided driving tour.

Genevieve Avatar

Oh Rachel, how awful that your A/C system broke down – you really need it where you are travelling and these things are so, so expensive. It’s good to see you are not daunted and are now having a fabulous time. It sounds amazing where you’ve been and where you are going to next. Enjoy your time.

Rachel R. Avatar

Thanks, Genevieve. We’re home safe and sound now. It was between 101-105°F every day we were in Utah, so we really needed the A/C. On the bright side, we were close enough to a city to get it fixed, and the repair shop was honest and fast. We easily could have been stranded without it in the middle of nowhere surrounded by mountains or desert. If it had to happen, we were lucky it happened how it did.

The rest of the trip went mostly smoothly, and the sites were amazing! It’s nice to be home, though!

Haul: Sephora ($15 off $50): Natasha Denona Liquid Chroma Crystal Eyeshadows in Sienna and Zone. Both very sparkly but Sienna is brown/green tone that is stunning! Once on, they don’t budge, even with hooded eyes and in 1000% humidity.

Lisa Eldridge: Pink collection lipsticks in Skyscraper Rose (a stunning bright fuschia), Rainbow Spill (untried), and Love of My Life (beautiful everyday pink rose shade).

Weekend Plans: Finish watching Stranger Things and prepare for the week ahead that is expected to be 96F with humidity all week. This is the time of year when I dislike living in the Midwest. I’m not built for hot temps with high humidity. So, preparing easy summer dinners for the week ahead.

Vacation: I just returned from 3 weeks home in Canada. Expecting another week in August when family comes home. I need a change of scenery for intellectual and emotional stimulation and to re-energize in general.
