We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Best makeup remover? Either Shiseido or Lancome BiFacil. MAC wipes are pretty good as well.
Double cleanse or single cleanse? Double cleanse!
How good are you at removing your makeup? Very – I make sure I cleanse properly and consistently.

Your skin tone/coloring: By my name! (with blue-green eyes)

Best makeup remover? One of two things. Either unrefined coconut oil followed with FAB Pure Skin Face Cleanser or Drunk Elephant Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser. Afterwards, I go in with a Simple Exfoliating Facial Cleansing Wipe to get anything left behind, especially pesky waterproof tightline pencil!

Double cleanse or single cleanse? Double, if I wore foundation. Single, if bb cream (coconut oil to loosen it up, then a Simple Exfoliating Facial Cleansing Wipe to wisk it all off in one fell swoop)

How good are you at removing your makeup? Extremely! And even then, I’ll find black eye gunk in the morning occasionally!

Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green/gray/blue eyes, warm brown hair.

Best makeup remover? I don’t really use a make up remover, but I do use a cleansing balm.

Double cleanse or single cleanse? Double cleanse, definitely. I use the Pixi Beauty cleansing balm to loosen things up, then use a microfiber cloth with warm water to get my make up off. Then I go in with the DermaE Hydrating Cleanser to get off whatever is left over.

How good are you at removing your makeup? I would say pretty good! I don’t see anything left over on my cotton pad when I go in with my toner post-cleansing.

Your skin tone/coloring: Porcelain – extra dry, sensitive, prone to redness.

Best makeup remover? I like Klorane makeup remover water for eye/lip and Burt’s Bees brightening cleanser for face.

Double cleanse or single cleanse? Kind of double, I use a wet makeup eraser cloth first, then Burt’s Bees cleanser and a Foreo.

How good are you at removing your makeup? Really good because if I don’t do it well I get red blotchy spots and break out on my chin/nose/cheeks.

Best makeup remover? Clinique Take The Day Off Balm
It’s absolutely the best make-up remover in term of efficiency, I love using a balm to remove make-up (rather than lotions, wipes, micellar waters, etc.) and I like it so much that I can pass by the price (although it’s quite cost efficient per use) and the fact in comes in a tube.

Double cleanse or single cleanse? Always double cleanse!

How good are you at removing your makeup? I’m the most due-diligent, I never skip cleaning my face once I get home. I usually workout in the evening, so I remove my make-up before and cleanse my skin, than clean it once again before I go to sleep.

Skin tone: Very fair with neutral undertones, grey hair and dark brown eyes.

Favorite makeup remover: Tatcha Camellia Cleansing Oil is my favorite but I also do like Farmacy Green Clean. I find the Tatcha to remove my makeup, including waterproof mascara, in one swipe. It doesn’t leave a greasy film, doesn’t bother my eyes, wipes off completely and doesn’t strip my skin. The Farmacy removes my makeup but I do have to work a little harder to get my waterproof mascara off, when using it.

Overall, I am very thorough in removing my makeup and remove my makeup every night. I did go through a period of about 2 weeks recently, that I didn’t remove my makeup and that is an anomaly in my usual routine. I did find that my skin reacted badly to leaving my makeup on and I had a few break outs which isn’t something I normally have. I also noticed my skin became increasingly drier as I wasn’t applying my usual night time moisturizer’s. I am never going there again!!

Definitely double cleanse.

Best makeup remover? Good Molecules Instant Cleansing Balm! And I like the Holika Holika foaming face washes too, you only need the teeniest, tiniest amount.

Double cleanse or single cleanse? Double!

How good are you at removing your makeup? Bordering on fanatical.

Erica Avatar

Your skin tone/coloring: light, MAC NC 15-20, med brown hair and eyes, oily skin

Best makeup remover? Garnier Micellar Water with the blue top. I don’t think that technically counts as a makeup remover but it’s what I use currently
Double cleanse or single cleanse? Double I guess. I start with the Micellar Water or a cleansing balm and then I wash with Cera Ve Foaming Cleanser
How good are you at removing your makeup? I try to get every last bit!

Light to medium with yellow undertones.

Paula’s Choice Cleansing Oil, Clinique Take the day off balm, or Algenist Cleasing Balm (my fav) the Bioderma Sensibio for stubborn eye makeup followed by DE Beste.

Single or Double cleanse? Sometimes Triple! Sometimes I’ll do a quick Cetaphil cleanse (lotion type) to finish. Do I think I cleanse well? Definitely!

Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name

Best makeup remover? Honestly, I haven’t tried a ton. I like Garnier Micellar Water. I’ve been buying the BH Cosmetics eye and lip makeup remover for years, and honestly it does a great job of taking off eye makeup for me, so I haven’t switched.

Double cleanse or single cleanse? Usually, I just single cleanse. If I’ve been wearing really heavy makeup, especially on the eyes, I’ll double-cleanse.

How good are you at removing your makeup? Usually really good. If I don’t, I’ll get acne. Not removing eye makeup usually leads to itchy eyes and sometimes even styes. So I try to be thorough and diligent. On the other hand, I have to admit I still occasionally fall asleep without taking it off, and I always regret it. If I’m sick or exhausted, I try to at least give my face a pass with a washcloth or face wipe and clean better in the morning.

Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name. Green eyes, s&p hair.

Best makeup remover? I rarely use remover. I wash my face with Clinique Liquid Facial Soap and that’s usually enough to remove it. If I need something more, I use Neutrogena Extra Gentle Eye Makeup Remover Pads.

Double cleanse or single cleanse? It depends on how much makeup I’m wearing.

How good are you at removing your makeup? Very good. I like my face to be completely clean when I go to bed.

Your skin tone/coloring: Dark brown NW45/Fenty 430

Best makeup remover? Hands down Clinique Take the Day Away balm. Love it!

Double cleanse or single cleanse? Double

How good are you at removing your makeup? At this point, I’m pretty rigid about making sure my skin is clean & hydrated.

Genevieve Avatar

Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones.

Best makeup remover? I prefer creamy cleansers – so Swisse Sweet Almond cream cleanser or Burt’s Bees Sensitive cream cleanser

Double cleanse or single cleanse? Hmm – sometimes both – if I have a lot of makeup on, I’ll do a double cleanse, if it is light on – just a single cleanse.

How good are you at removing your makeup? Excellent- I was pretty average in my younger days – and there wasn’t really many products around, but for quite a long time I have made an investment into my skin and started cleaning it properly every single night, no matter what.

Mariella Avatar

Your skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Best makeup remover? I have 5 or 6 or more that are all really good so I couldn’t choose a “favourite”; for eyes, removers from Clarins, Lancome and Clinique; for face (or face and eyes) balms and oils from Clinique, MAC, Tatcha and The Body Shop
Double cleanse or single cleanse? usually just a single cleanse (except for eye makeup) and if I feel my cleanser might need a bit of help, I will use my Foreo or a konjac sponge, but if I’m wearing foundation or a lot of makeup, I will double cleanse
How good are you at removing your makeup? Pretty good – I think maybe once or twice a year I’m so tired or feeling so ill that I will just give my face a wipe with a warm face-cloth but other than that, I’m pretty religious about removing makeup and sunscreen at the end of the day

Skin tone/Coloring: Warm Tan skin, dark brown hair, dark green eyes
Best Makeup Remover: For eyes, hands down Vaseline. No irritation. Everything else, a Neutrogena wipe.
Double vs Single Cleanse: Single is working just fine for me.
How Good Are You At Removing Your Makeup: Very. I always do the Vaseline to remove my makeup and wash my face with a cleanser at night. I never go to bed without evening oral care and skin care.
