NARS x Saks Audacious Lipstick Swatches
There are four limited edition NARS x Saks Audacious Lipsticks ($34.00 for 0.14 oz.) that are exclusively available at Saks (kind of inferred by the title, I suppose). There is also some amusement to be had given that there’s a warning on the box that says “store away from high temperatures and high humidity,” as one of mine came loose from the base and melted partially against the interior of the cap (though it seemed fairly wedged into the base still upon using it).
I guess these aren’t as limited edition as they might want us to believe. I picked up 2 of them last fall from Saks and am surprised that nearly 6 months later, they’re still available.
That’s a shame about your one bullet and pretty hilarious about the disclaimer on the box 😀
Interesting – it is the first I saw of them online (they popped up under new last week) – did you get yours in stores?
No, that’s the weird thing. I ordered them off the Saks site at the end of November. Maybe they restocked them again ??♀️
Really love the 2 I got though (Delphine and Isabella) they’re such gorgeous shades!!
I must have missed it then! I’m usually pretty good (load up the “new” sections for Saks every morning, lol), bummer!
Or they might’ve reformulated or changed the packaging-that happens fairly frequently.
Not a loser in the bunch from what I can tell. They all look very consistent in quality and up to Audacious standards that we’ve come to expect. Personally, I’m feeling a way about Margot as a perfect “hotter than the sun” orange based vivid red!
Oh no, the bullet damage. Isn’t seeing that beautiful bullet half the fun of getting a new lipstick? It is for me. When I was younger and my OCD was in high gear, I use to try and see how long I could keep the bullet shaped like a bullet. Now, I rarely use one shade consistently enough to change the shape, LOL!! Shades are lovely but nothing I need so an easy pass for me.
Awww, poor Isabella! I hate opening up a lipstick and finding it smooshed.
Margot is a pretty perfect bright red.

That is interesting… the boxes/press release do say Saks, but I just spotted them online last week!
I’m sure the Saks release is legit, maybe Nars just really spaced out the release timing for whatever retailers were interested in the “exclusive”.
They were listed as LE on Mecca and those four particular shades are no longer available here, so.
I think Delphine is very pretty too 🙂

And that sucks about the bullet Christine, I have had that happen to me too, even when it hasn’t been hot or humid.
They all look like winners for application (though Bella is both peachy and pastel, so … two strikes against it for color).

Bella would probably not be for me, Isabella on the other hand could easily become a favourite. I do think, and hope I have dupes for the reds.
Awaiting reviews! If these do well, will purchase even if I have dupes! The Nars formula is one of the few I can wear all day comfortably

So interesting Christine… I have had these shades for well over a year now. These shades were developed as part of the MECCA 20 X NARS AUDACIOUS collab for the beauty retailer Mecca in Australia… makes me wonder how many shades are repackaged as LE then re-released??
Not to be pedantic as I am a real sucker for the colour selection in this particular release (as well as the audacious formula) and I’m glad more people have access to it now.. but in principle it peeves me a little 😛
Sorry, I just went by the information as it was on Saks’ website, since I don’t shop at Mecca (it being out of my geo!) – didn’t mean to pass on any wrong information!
Oh no I didn’t mean to accuse you or anything haha – I just thought it was odd that these supposedly “exclusive” shades were being repackaged, that’s all! Australia is a bit out of the way anyway and we have opposite seasons and terrible makeup distribution haha, so I’m not surprised that we are out of sync with the rest of the world.
