- Haul/Rediscoveries: Good Molcules Hyaluronic Acid Serum, Farmacy Green Clean Balm,
- Weekend plans: Edit photos! Edit photos! So many photos I need to edit, and there’s been some emergency every day for the last three days in a row, so I am behind, LOL! Every time Thursday evening rolls around and I prep FFHF, I can’t believe it’s already Friday and can’t figure out how my week flew by!
- Do you wear any jewelry regularly?: My wedding band/engagement ring, and then usually earrings of some sort! I’m terrible at wearing necklaces and bracelets (bother me while typing).

I recently discovered these dollar AOA liquid lipsticks mentioned by a youtuber and thought what the heck? For a dollar i’ll give them a try! They’re actually not bad! Not by any means are they on par with a like a MAC product or anything like that but they dry down and stay through coffee and doughnuts at work and i’ve gotten compliments while wearing some of them. The nude shades are a bit patchy but I have had good luck with some of the reds, magentas and bright pinks! Overall for a dollar i’m satisfied with what they are!
For this weekend I need to cleanup my bedroom and bathroom area and that definitely includes my mess of a makeup collection! While getting ready for work I don’t always put everything away back as neatly as I should!
I generally wear earrings, including an ear cuff and a fitbit watch because I’m trying to encourage myself to hit better health goals! I am trying harder to build cohesive outfits for work and accessorize with a bracelet or necklace/barrette in my hair, etc but don’t always remember to! I got a jewelry hanger and have it hanging on the wall by my bathroom sink to try to help me remind me 🙂
Is the Fitbit working for you? I have one and I always forget to put it on in the morning.
It is making me get up and move more for sure! I used to work in a job where I was on my feet all day and now am in an office setting so I definitely need the reminders! I had a Charge 2 at first but my family chipped in together and got me a Versa for Christmas. I really love it!
I adore the AOA Metallic Liquid Lipsticks! Its the best metallic formula I’ve come across so far, and they’re a steal at only a buck a piece. They’re actually transfer proof and not sticky or tacky, unlike the ColourPop or Wet N Wild metallic lippies. I just wish they’d add more shades.
I agree! The metallics so far have been my favs!
Haul: Colourpop Sweet Talk palette, Misunderstood palette, and Flower Szn lipstick.
Rediscoveries: Tom Ford Creme Eyeshadow in Sphinx. I always forget how beautiful this is; I love it so much. I used it with the Melt Gemini palette today.
Weekend plans: Taking care of a sick baby.
Do you wear any jewelry regularly?: I always wear earrings, my Apple Watch and wedding rings. And a hairtie around my opposite wrist.
I hope the baby gets well soon.
I hope your bubba gets well soon, I guess it means not much sleep for you.
Here’s hoping that your little one is doing much better today than Friday, Celesta. It’s no fun when they get sick!
What a good boy! Mine would have destroyed those octopus arms in seconds!
Haul: Four Brow Wiz pencils during the Ulta half-off sale. I think my brows are set for the rest of the year!
Weekend Plans: Going out to dinner, visiting family, chores, and possibly a manicure, if I find the time.
Do you wear any jewelry regularly? My wedding/engagement ring is always on. On a daily basis, I usually wear simple, small earring studs; a chain with a small pendant; and a Celtic knotwork ring or two. My jewelry is sterling silver or white gold. I don’t like yellow gold against my skin tone.
Haul/Rediscovery: Nothing!
Weekend plans: It’s going to be a busy one. I’ve got a massage tomorrow, and if it’s not raining we’ll take a walk around the lake nearby. Then we have a bunch of errands to run, and we’ll swing by the local gin distillery who is doing a book drive — donate a book, get a gin and tonic 🙂 Sunday I’ve got an online dance conditioning class, and then we’ll tidy up the apartment for our new-new housesitter to meet our dog (the old-new housesitter had to cancel two weeks before our trip for totally legit reasons, so I hope the new-new one works out!).
Do I regularly wear jewelry? Heck yeah I do! I wear my wedding ring and FitBit on the regular, and then I have a selection of other jewelry to choose from depending on mood, occasion, and outfit. I really like handmade jewelry! I also do beadwork, though I find I don’t wear my own work as often — I guess I got bored of it, LOL.
Hauls/rediscoveries: No purchases this week. I have rediscovered Chanel’s blush in Foschia Rosa, a BEAUTIFUL coral blush that leans towards orange sherbet, but softer. I have been using NARS Impudique (one of my favorite blushes of all time) as an all over blush, and then popping Foschia Rosa on the apples of my cheeks. This blush combo is perfectly accompanied by my new Chanel Rouge Coco Flash lipstick in Pulse.
Other rediscoveries: I have finished a color cosmetic! This almost never happens! I rediscovered MAC’s Beurre lipliner, used it all, and now am sad because I don’t think they make this color anymore. I used it this week to SLIGHTLY overline my lips (I can’t stand noticeable overlining), then lined the regular edge of my lips with NARS Menton (a coral lip liner), filled the lip in with Lancome’s Color Design lipstick in Vintage Rose (pinky mauve nude), and topped with Estée Lauder’s Pure Color Envy gloss in Intense Spice (a lovely orange-leaning Bronze). This combination should not have worked but it was so so pretty. I ended up wearing it three days in a row because I was so infatuated with the way it turned out. I will be experimenting more often with cool and warm together in the future.
Oh, and one more rediscovery: I have mentioned before that the Dior Backstage Cheek Palette is my favorite highlighter palette I’ve ever purchased and might be my overall favorite purchase of 2018. Not a week goes by when I don’t reach for this palette for my cheeks, eyes, and even sometimes to pop a little shimmer on my lips. I’ve also mentioned that I absolutely love NARS Orgasm Liquid blush (I do not love the powder version and gave mine away years ago). I have been wearing the liquid every week for the past month because it looks so fresh for spring. Well today I layered the pink highlighter/blush in the Dior Backstage Cheek palette on top of the NARS Orgasm Liquid blush, the highlighted the top of my cheekbones with the white highlighter from Backstage. I don’t think I will ever be able to create a prettier pink spring cheek look. This is THE ONE?
Weekend: Sunday is our 29th wedding anniversary! I remember all those years of wondering if we would make it, not because we were poorly matched but more because divorce is so prevalent. I am happy we have made it to 29 and am hopeful for many good years ahead.
Jewelry: The only rings I wear are my wedding bands and I also wear earrings. I don’t wear necklaces or bracelets. I have had a nose ring for about a decade and I love it.
Happy Anniversary!
29 years is wonderful in this day and age, Tammy! Big congrats on your wedding anniversary and I hope you guys get to enjoy your day! ?
Congratulations on 29 years! That is an achievement in this day and age. I only made it to 11 years although in fairness, we lived together for quite awhile, 1981-1993, married from 1993-2005. My siblings and I have all been divorced at least once and we all thought we would be married for our entire lives to the same person because we had such a great role model for marriage. My parents were married for almost 60 years when my father passed away. They were 15 and 19 when they married and no one thought it would last. Just goes to show, you never know!!
Have a wonderful anniversary day.
Also, I purchased the Dior Backstage palette last spring, because of you and I really love it also.
Congratulations Tammy on your Wedding Anniversary – are you going out to celebrate?
Haul/Rediscoveries: Rediscovered Buxom glosses with the Ulta sale – pulled out my old ones and have been wearing them and splurged on two new shades since they were on sale; I bought Colourpop Villains palette and the Maleficent collection.
Weekend plans: Go to a friend’s house warming party. :o)
Do you wear any jewelry regularly?: My wedding band and engagement ring and a mini diamond ring from Kendra Scott that my husband bought for my last birthday. I also wear mostly silver due to my skin tone…earrings and necklaces. I wear a Fossil watch for work but not on the weekends.
Your puppy is so adorable with the octopus hugging him!
Haul: nothing at all; Rediscovery: MAC Birds & Berries eyeshadow (from the Give Me Liberty of London collection many years ago) under my lower lashes – it is really lovely with my brown eyes
Weekend plans: blissfully nothing important – hot yoga tonight, the gym tomorrow and a bit of grocery shopping so I can make a batch of chili for lunches; other than that, just relax and watch Richard Armitage in Spooks again!
Jewelry – the only thing I wear every day is a pair of diamond studs that belonged to my late mother; other than that, I do like to wear pins on my jackets (some sophisticated, some funky/goofy and some I’ve found at yard sales). Because I wash my hands so often, I tend not to wear my rings but I also do wear a watch (actually a Garmin fitness tracker doodley thing).
It’s lovely to have a ‘nothing’ weekend so you can snooze and relax and catch up on every day chores. I did a batch of cooking yesterday (Saturday here) too. Minestrone soup, Swedish meatballs (with lots of vegies in them) and a casserole. It just makes it easier for the week ahead when I have some cooked dishes in the fridge.
Enjoy your weekend Mariella.
Haul/Rediscoveries:
Finally received my Cult Beauty order today to discover that NARS All Day Luminous Weightless separates on my skin in a couple of hours and turns a shade lighter, for whatever reason 🙁 I’m going to see if a primer will change that, but I still feel like I should have gone with the Hourglass Immaculate that I have already tried and tested and approved for my oily face, and I’m not one to keep trying to make a product work.
On the other hand I got the Natasha Denona Diamond and Glow duo in the same order, and I am in LOVE, Champagne Pink is an amazingly lovely shade!
Weekend plans: Finishing up some work I should have finished aaaages ago, while dreaming of new foundation 😀
Do you wear any jewelry regularly?: Not really, but I often wear a tradish silver ring 🙂
????: Nothing, but I have orders from ColourPop (Villains Collection), NARS, and Apocalyptic Beauty en route for next week.
?????????????: Just using all the stuff I’ve been buying recently but haven’t yet gotten to use much. I’m going on a very low buy, as it looks like I might — at least temporarily — lose my present job.
??????? ?????: I had my annual physical this morning, and my younger son and I have eye exams this afternoon. Yesterday was my husband’s birthday, and Sunday is my younger son’s birthday, so we’ll be going out to dinner and having cake and ice cream at home.
?? ??? ???? ??? ??????? ??????????: Yes. I always wear my wedding set, a nose ring or stud, nipple barbells, and most of my ear piercings jewelry. I also usually wear at least a couple rings on my right hand and earrings in my lobes.
Job stress is tough. Good luck
Thank you, AB!
What a shame Rachel about your job – I hope the powers that be change their minds.
Happy birthday to your husband and son, it’s lovely to celebrate at a restaurant.
Enjoy your weekend.
Thanks, Genevieve. We’ll be OK. It’s pretty easy for me to get temp agency work if I need; I’ve got skills and education. I’m a paid caregiver for my son currently, but he’s changing from child to adult services since he’s turning 22. If he doesn’t qualify for the program as an adult, I’ll need to find new work, and he could lose his internship program. They are covering him till his adult determination is made, even beyond his birthday, so that’s really nice of them.
A couple departments of the hotel he’s interning at have said they want him to apply when he’s done with the program, plus we’ve got a couple other programs that can help with job placement for him. He’ll be OK, and I’ll help him regardless of whether I’m paid for it, of course.
That’s great news about your son doing so well in the intern program that they want him to apply for positions there. You and your husband have been amazing parents to get him that far. How proud you must feel of hime. Congratulations. I hope the powers that be decide to continue to support both him and you, as in the long run, this is most cost effective for them and beneficial for all of you. I will cross my fingers for you all.
Thanks so much! He’s work so hard to get where he is. We’re very proud. I got notice today that the state put a rush job on his application, and approved him state services. There will be no gaps in coverage, so he’ll have funding for his internship program, and I’ll still get paid to be his caregiver. We’re very lucky!
I’m loving just how chill Mellan is with that ? on him! Hahaha! ?
Haul: One item. And it isn’t even the one I waltzed into MAC to get at 25% off sale! I went in all set to finally get See Sheer. Somehow, I walked out with the unrealistically neon Hi-Fructease…because I tried it on and the SA said it would look great with my Cherry Mochi Lipglass over it. And so I tried that combo, and it really is a super flattering way for me to get away with wearing straight up pink. Still want See Sheer, though!
Weekend plans: Interesting update on LAST weekend’s plans….apparently I got my Assembly date all wrong in my own head despite the announcement of the date on SEVERAL occasions! It is actually tomorrow. Last weekend was a nightmare because of my mix up. I was so stressed out due to not having everything organized and put together. Hadn’t called anyone yet for my ride there and back. Hadn’t picked up lunch fixings. Nor figured out how I would navigate an hour long car trip while on Lasix. This weekend, I have everything together, thank God! Literally!
Do you wear jewelry regularly? Just my very old nameplate necklace, two silver rings, and if I’m going out someplace, even running errands, I wear usually wear earrings, too. Other than that, no. I cannot stand the feeling of bracelets or even a watch on my wrists at all! It’s a sensory thing. Before getting my nameplate around 20 years ago, I really didn’t like the feel of wearing necklaces, either.
I’m Okay with bracelets, but I cannot stand to wear wristwatches. They just feel weird to me.
Rachel, yes, they feel weird to me, too. Unless they are snug, but not tight, and even then I rather not deal with them. The only bracelet I have ever been able to deal with have been bangles or a cuff bracelet. And lately, neither one.
Thank goodness you have every thing sorted for this weekend Nancy. What a state you must have been in due to the mix up. It can easily happen. So I hope you enjoy yourself tomorrow.
It really was a bizarre mix-up, Genevieve! They had announced the date on several occasions as 3/30, but my brain was registering 3/24. We did have a wonderful time yesterday when we attended. I really enjoyed the 2 talks given by a special visiting speaker from Bethel in NY. That he used analogies and word pictures to make important points made for teaching moments not so easily forgotten, and very impactful.
Pleased to hear Nancy that you arrived there all in one piece and that the speakers were inspiring. Analagies and word pictures really help those who learn best from visual memory. I am glad that you had a good weekend.
Haul/Rediscoveries: Nothing hauled or rediscovered this week, but I really need to get myself a good sweat-proof SPF for warm weather hiking / running.
Weekend plans: Enjoying an weekend with no rain in the Bay Area! Hopefully no muddy trails for my Saturday hike! On Sunday I will be attending a `Star Wars` in concert show, already planning my make-up for that event.
Do you wear any jewelry regularly? No; I can’t stand bracelets, rings and necklaces. I feel that they limit my movements. 😀 I only wear one pair of earrings I got from my mom… almost 20 years of wearing them.
Haul: Nothing, nary a thing. Have been in low-buy mood lately, probably because I’ve become increasingly aware of how much I own and ought to try to use up plus I’m working to save for some upcoming expenses. Rediscoveries: I been using Colourpop’s Wait For It shadow as a dusting on top for a bit of brightness lately; I like it.
Weekend: I am starting to organize for a move to another state, but not until July. So for now, I’m taking on 2-3 projects a weekend to ease what will surely be a crunch as the date nears. So this weekend, going through clothes and shoes, and if I can also books.
Jewelry regularly: Yes. Workdays uniform: wraparound ribbons style gold ring that’s strong, classic, but with a style to it; two gold link bracelets; simple gold hoops. Weekends: large turquoise and silver ring from Navajo jeweler; copper or silver hoops; silver bracelet. I love every piece, almost every one has some history for me. I wear my mother’s watch every day, and I inherited other pieces I do mix in often. (Yes, jewelry — along with makeup — can be my kryptonite).
Haul: Nothing! I’m trying to stick to a low/no buy.
Rediscoveries: ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Partridge. I love it for simple “one and done” eye looks. I think I’ve worn it every day this week aside from Tuesday.
Weekend plans: Digging apart our house to find the title to my husbands truck. Supposed to be doing a trade this weekend for it. Otherwise, cleaning up the lingering messes from everyone in the house having an intestinal flu this week.
Do you wear any jewelry regularly?: My wedding ring, and then I have facial and ear piercings. Otherwise, no necklaces or things like that.
Haul: Marc Jacob’s Steelo eye shadow palette and Kinks and Kisses blush 25% sale.
Weekend Plans: I need to return phone calls to some family members, organize my closet Go out for dinner or get some good carryout. Finishing up a couple good books.
Do you wear any jewelry regularly?: Usually earrings, necklace- cross or gemstone and my Apple watch.
Haul: Nothing this week. Still waiting for the Sephora sale. I do have a couple of temptations lurking which haven’t gone live yet so may cave for a couple of those depending on how it works out. I also got a restock notice for a lipstick I wanted at Sephora and not sure whether to buy it now and get it or wait for sale and risk not getting one. I usually use the sale to stock up on repurchases of skin care and hair care but since I have’t purchased anything makeup related in awhile, I may add some coloured products to this sale. I am adopting the attitude that if it isn’t there when I want to buy it then it wasn’t meant to be rather than stewing about it and spending countless hours searching relentlessly on-line to find it and then pay an exorbitant amount for it.
Weekend plans: Not much. I am still enjoying working on mixed media projects and will soon start scrapbooking photos from our trip to Europe. I have about 3000 photos between my daughter and I and have been going through and trying to weed out duplicated, poor quality, not getting the actual intended target as obscured by too many people, etc. I am almost done with that and will be ready to print the best ones for actually putting into an album. I usually have all the pictures put onto a disc or a thumbdrive and keep it with the album in a back pocket so that all of the pictures are there but don’t need to print them all. We have so many beautiful pictures so I am anxious to get started. I have been picking up supplies for awhile now. I make my own albums from scratch so it isn’t a quick project.
Jewelry: Almost always. I wear earrings most days although I haven’t for about a month now because I lost the screw on back to my diamond studs and need to take it to a bigger city to have a new back threaded. I have had those studs for 44 years as I bought them as a present to myself when I graduated from nursing school and I have never had the screw on back get anywhere near falling off but somehow, I managed to lose it. I thought I had lost the earring also but found it on the bathroom rug. The back was no where to be found so may have gone down the drain while showering. Other jewelry I like to wear when I am going out but don’t usually bother when sitting around home.
I am so glad you found your lost earring – they sound very special! 😀
All rugged up – Mellon looks so cosy there.
Haul – nothing this week.
Rediscoveries: I have been using a lot of my City Color eyeshadow singles this week in Cleo and Sandstorm. Great shades of gold and soft brown.
Weekend plans:
Friday – we had Lachlan over, as per usual on a Friday and he was happy to just play outside at our place and build train tracks. When it was time to have his afternoon nap, he wanted Nono (my husband) to lie down with him in our bed and it was a toss up as to who went to sleep first……
Saturday – our first taste of winter – a very cold day with lots of much needed rain. The weather this week was balmy, so the chillier weather comes as a shock. Just shopping and housework today.
Sunday – will probably go out for an afternoon drive and a lunch somewhere in the country side.
Jewelry – I generally don’t wear jewelry around the house as it is annoying when doing housework, but when I go out I do put on some necklaces. I am not really a jewelry person, but my twin sister is and has even done gemstone courses and is a regular at gemstone fairs. She has bought me some beautiful and interesting pieces to wear, which is lovely.
Mellan looks nice and cozy.
Haul/Rediscoveries: Yesterday I ordered the 5 Eyedols from PMG, Pale Fire, Divine Mink, Lapis Luxury, Statuesque, and Rose Venus. I should receive them on Monday. I pulled out some previously worn Sephora false eyelashes and put them on to go out for dinner this evening and my husband complimented me on my makeup when he got home lol!
Weekend plans: We’re finally getting together tonight to celebrate my daughter’s and my husband’s birthdays.
Do you wear any jewelry regularly? Only if I am going out I put all my rings on and everything else. I have lots of ear piercings that are permanent that I don’t take out, helix, tragus, anti-tragus, industrial, conch, daith and snugs. Oh and a tiny gold nose ring.
Haul: Ulta bath. House brand concealer in medium cool is pretty orange, way too dark and like a corrector for a tan to deep skin tone. My fault for not going to stores, but will rectify. Poppy (LQ) in the Chestnut shade of the nudes (sale.). Plans: ssdw; Jewelry: interesting question. I have always loved semiprecious stones, rather than classic gems. So, have accumulated lots of SW Native American, Larimar, jade, watermelon tourmaline, ametrine, some very unusual agates (Botswana, crazy lace…), jaspers, lapis, unusuals like Victoria stone, boulder opal, fossilized Dino bone, ammonites, fossilized turtle dung (really!), lots of malachite, etc. (because: green!). Every colorway to go with any possible outfit. And, like m/u and ‘outfits’ often do not make the effort to wear it. I wear a man’s Swiss army watch and a dangle evil eye bracelet on the same arm. Too hard to get it off, even bathe with it. If the mood strikes, I do make an effort, but seldom. I inherited a fair amount of classic gold from my mum, rope sets, handmade bangles, hinged and straight bangles of all sizes, oriental baroque (not cultured/real) pearls in all lengths, ev-ry-thing. TMS, TBH. Some of this non-wear is bec it’s not appropriate to either of my jobs, and I might come off as overly advantaged or showy. And some of it is psychological, I suppose. And despite not utilizing what I have, still want Medusa quartz. It looks like wee jellyfish in a clear quartz. Just like still wanting more SG e/s, I guess.
I had to look up some of the stones I don’t know. The Medusa quartz is beautiful. Now I know about coprolite jewelry, and it’s quite pretty. I had no idea! (Part of me also likes the idea of giving some to relatives I’m not fond of, and having them never know it’s literally s*it.)
Haul: Colourpop Sweet Talk palette (which I love more then I should!) and all the new spring Lux lipsticks. Revolution Pro Mauve and Peach blush palettes, a shimmery skin finish in Opalescent, the full coverage foundation and concealer and the knock off dupe for the Huda Rose Gold palette. Refills of my Natio Rosewater gel moisturiser and botanic clay mask, which came with a lovely GWP as well 🙂
Weekend plans: I have to go pants shopping and also buy a new swimsuit. Going to my BIL’s place for Sunday afternoon to watch motorsports and have a few drinks, then dinner and possibly a spa if he has the pool going (see swimsuit purchasing necessity, since I tore the (ancient, brittle) elastic halter on my current one piece 🙁 It was $12 when I bought it over a decade ago so it had a good run, but it’s finally given up the ghost…)
Jewelry: Hell yes, I make my own earrings, bracelets and necklaces with Swarovski chaton and rivoli crystals and hypoallergenic cup chains in various metal finishes, I have a fairly substantial collection to choose from so you can bet I wear at least something most days than not. Even if I’m just wearing my ratty old jeans and a hoody to work and will probably get covered in sawdust, I still usually chuck on some bling.
Haul/Rediscoveries: I’m waiting for the U.D brow blade ink stain to be released in my country.
Weekend plans: Helping with the preparation of my son to travel for studies, after a week’s visit.
Do you wear any jewelry regularly?: Always my Minas (greek designer) small star earrings, for decades.
Haul: Chanel – Voyage de Chanel Face Palette, Net-A-Porter (15% off) – Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon in Dark Pearl and Legendary Brows in Linda; The Bay ($20 off $100) – Guerlain Meteorites Highlighter Duo (tickled to have it!) and MAC Gentle Off Makeup Remover; SDM (20% off) – Chanel Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow in Lueurs Ambrees.
Rediscovery: Anastasia lip gloss in Metallic Rose. I paired it with a Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Dusty Pink and it looked like the perfect Spring lip shade on me.
Weekend Plans: Lunch with a friend, cooking a pork roast with peach sauce (takes 6-7 hours), and finishing a few tasks that take should have long been off the to-do list.
Wear Jewelry Regularly: Yes! I regularly wear my wedding ring, another ring, stud earrings, and a watch. I feel odd when I don’t have these items on. When I go out, I’ll add other accessories, like a light necklace, a different pair of earrings, and sometimes a bracelet. At Christmas, I treated myself to a sleek arm cuff made by a local artist, and hope to have that on my arm when warm weather arrives.
Haul: Went to the CCO and picked up TF Seductive Rose and Seventh Sin lipstick.
Weekend plans: Went to live taping of a national TV show and then went to hear Bobby McFerrin and his group perform — that was awesome. Been doing household chores, and a little weekend work. Today will meet a friend for coffee, workout, do some grocery shopping. Tonight participate in an on-line training.
Jewelry– apart from wedding ring, not much. Earrings don’t agree with me. I have a couple of friends who do artisan work which I support through buying an occasional piece so if I am dressing up, I might wear one of their pieces. Wore one last night. I do have some jewelry but it’s more stuff lying around the house.
