Essie Winter 2008 Collection Review & Swatches
Essie’s Winter 2008 Collection features six stunning shades of rich jewel-toned polishes. Each polish goes for $8, but you can snag all six as a set for $45. My favorites were Sexy Divide, a gorgeous, deep dark royal purple; and It’s Genius for its softer, lighter magenta-purple tone. Essie polishes have always worked well for me, and this set is no different overall. All of the polishes are pigmented and go on smoothly with the exception of Shifting Power, which I’d probably do three coats of. Because Shifting Power has a more metallic finish, it’s easier to see the stroke lines, too.
See nail swatches…
Each swatch shown is done with two coats of polish with no base or top coat. These are also not done with perfection in mind–they’re purely so you can see the color on the nail–so that’s why there may be some oopsies 😉

I REALLY like Rock Star Skinny, but to be honest, I think they’re all colours I’d wear. I’m very tempted by these, even though I don’t tend to buy many nail polishes.
It was hard to pick two favorites, but I picked the ones I did partially because they’re very unique amongst the colors I already have. I love reds, but I never wear them and have a ton. I do like the subtle shimmer of Rock Star Skinny!
I am loving the winter polish collections this year! I already bought the mini set from OPI and I really want these and Zoya’s fall collection as well!
OMG, I know. I adore, adore Zoya’s too. (Swatches coming soon!)
Sexy Divide is gorgeous!!
Agreed! I can’t decide what color to paint my nails, LOL.
sexy divine is mine.
Haha 😉
seeing colors like these makes me wanna take off my acrylic nails and start painting them again. damsel in a dress & sexy divide are gorgeous…i LOVE dark purples on nails.
LOL! Awww. They are hard to resist 😉
