Cult Nails Happy Ending Nail Lacquer Review, Photos, Swatches

Cult Nails Happy Ending Nail Lacquer

Cult Nails Happy Ending Nail Lacquer ($10.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) contains shredded multi-colored flakes suspended in a clear base. There’s aqua-blue, copper, gold, and lavender from what I can see–I swear I see a hint of green, but I think it might be the gold. I don’t have anything like this, and I’m not even sure if I have more than one or two shredded polishes on hand. Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday is the closest I could think of, but it’s multi-sized glitter particles (squares and hexagons) with a lot of green in it. Even though the sizes/shapes are different, I think the two yield at least a comparable feel: a big ol’ glitter-party on your nails.

The consistency of Happy Ending is on the thicker side–if you have a lot of glitters in clear bases, it definitely has a sort of gel-like consistency that gives it a thicker feel and look.  It does help suspend and keep the glitter shards in it, though, which means you don’t have to try and grab the pieces out of the bottle. They do need to be pushed around to get an even (sort of) layer of shredded glitter.  I dabbled a blob of it on the center of the nail and then pushed and maneuvered the pieces around.  It’s unique enough to be worth the trouble, but it’s not something I’d reach for often, just because it takes patience and some skill to use.

I guess this looks Messy to me Vs Artfully Messy. I picked up some crazy Fergie for WnW colors last night. I think she’s a total goof but the colors are dreamy. Thank you for doing the more unusual brands, Christine 🙂

2 weeks ago at Walgreen’s I bought almost every single polish of hers. They were all glitters. Have you seen the stars suspended in clear polish? Very grade school-esque. LOL! I don’t care for her … but hot damn those colours are just lush. I am missing 4 that I’d like to look at. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll get a chance to go by Walgreen’s.

Right? I’m in love with Rock n’ Roll, the pewter one with holo glitter- it covers easily, dries fast and is cheap and cruelty free- what more could I want? Other then it not being a Fergie collection( and maybe the bottles not being so ruddy cheesy)of course. They are “lush”, that’s a great descriptor, Walk of Fame is the one with the stars, I believe, and is nowhere to be found around these parts 🙁 It completely reminds me of my early polishing days. I’m waiting for the full display to arrive so I can ravage them. >=D

Wow…this looks EXACTLY like my Forever21 Love & Beauty nail polish in “Crystal/Multi” except there is more flakes in only one swipe. Also it was only $2.80.

Love it! I know some glitters and flakies are nightmares but I am loving the way they are just so dang cra-cra about the way they lay about. It’s funny because I am OCD about quite a few things but glitters and flakies running amok tend not to bother me much. LOL!

I really like this polish, but I totally agree with the grade you gave it. Application of this was difficult, especially since it wasn’t what I was expecting.

What a mess! Cult should never have let this one out the door! Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday always the way to go for a rainbow glitter hands down.

Icing has a very similar polish called Pregame, it’s got the same multi-coloured ‘shredded’ glitter but in a thinner base with denser coverage. It costs half as much and if I’m not mistaken appeared on the market well before Cult came out with this polish.

UGH – looks bloody awful. Looks like cheap nursery school craft glitter… the kind that comes in bulk and kids toss all over the floor instead of using for art.
