Guerlain Launches Rouge G L'Extrait Lip Matte Colour

Guerlain Launches Rouge G L’Extrait Lip Matte Colour

As the creator of the first tube of lipstick in 1870, Guerlain has continued to offer break-through lip innovations and this fall our Rouge G L’Extrait is the newest to be unveiled. Liquid, creamy, consistent, ultra-pigmented and velvety, this exceptional lip color is the perfect combination of a lipstick and a gloss and will ensure an incredibly sophisticated look. The liquid texture glides gently over the lip and within a few moments, the silky color becomes matte. This non-sticky, non-drying and non-feathering texture leaves your lips looking flawless for hours.

Rouge G L’Extrait ($48.00)

  • Avarice (M06) Beige for greed
  • Colere (M25) Red for wrath
  • Luxure (M27) Deeper red for lust
  • Envie (M41) Orange for envy
  • Paresse (M65) Pink for sloth
  • Orgueil (M69) Plum for pride
  • Gourmandise (M71) Raspberry for gluttony

These look so enticing! Then, I looked at the price. It really puts the “EEP!” in “Steep.” Christine, were you planning on reviewing these? I want to know if they will be a worthwhile splurge. Thank you! ^_^

I recently purchased Kat Von D Everlasting Love Liquid Lipstick in Berlin. I think its a very similar product. The lipstick wears all day. It lasts through my morning coffee and lunch. Its $19 a tube so I would recommend that if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative.

The new Hourglass long wears seem very similar to me (I own both) I actually like the Hourglass a little better because I find it easier to handle and apply sharply and cleanly. Although the Guerlain has a clever tube with built-in mirror- it’s heavy and, due to weird shape, is difficult to set it down anywhere. Check them both out – but Hourglass saves a lot of money and I think it is VERY similar formula

I can’t wait for these to come out 🙂 But the good news is that I *think* these are permanent, not LE, so there’s no immediate rush to get them. I think, anyway – Christine, am I wrong, do you know?

@blueraccoon Let’s hope 1.)  The formula is fantastic and 2.)  It’s not limited! 🙂  It’s Guerlain so there is big hope and expectation on my part!  I’m doing a little happy dance.  LoL

@wwendalynne I’m just glad it’s coming out in August, so in July I can buy my Chanel fall pieces, and in August I can buy Guerlain *g* (My mad money budget resets on the first, y’see.)

@blueraccoon I’m the same in terms of a beauty budget. At the first of every month, I take out my trusty list, and pick off a few items.

@xamyx  @blueraccoon My husband and I agreed that each of us had a discretionary budget of $X for a month, and he always goes under and I almost always go a leetle over. But it does reset at the beginning of the month.

Oh man..I can’t wait to see the colours and get my paws on these babies !  I love a matte lippie for fall/winter.. Hmmm, I find I’m gravitating to more of a matte finish in general even this spring/summer.  I’m definitely over sheer colour because I’m tired of reapplying lipstick alla freaking time.

A couple of times in my life I have pondered how much lipstick/lipgloss I have actually consumed inadvertently over the last 30 odd years.  Yup, my mind does strange things.

I can’t wait for these to come out and for Christine to review and swatch them! The container looks so luxe and I really am loving a cream lipstick lately.

Christine, have you had a chance to evaluate each color? Wanting to buy several before Neimen Marcus event was over. I need a little more specifics than what colors you say they are in this blog? Thank you very much.
