Introducing Livefyre Commenting System
We are currently trialing Livefyre’s commenting system, which we chose because we believe it offers some really key features that will improve engagement and interaction. If you haven’t seen Livefyre before, you may be more familiar with its competitor, Disqus. At its simplest, they’re both similar (but they are different overall)–they’re another commenting platform that allows for more features/options than the natural WordPress commenting platform. There are several ways to login using existing IDs you may have around the web as well as a guest (or anonymous) option. You can follow conversations, get notified of replies to your comments, tag other users in your comments, share with friends, like/flag comments, and more!
We hope you’ll enjoy the additional features, and we’ll be following the process carefully to ensure it’s a good fit for our readers! 🙂
Update: Livefyre has addressed some of our concerns about features, which will be added very shortly, so we’ve re-enabled it 🙂 See, ask and you shall receive!
P.S. — With 700,000+ comments, the import process may take up to three days. The most recent comments are being imported first, so there should be little disruption overall.
