Illamasqua Nomad Nail Varnish
Illamasqua Nomad Nail Varnish
Illamasqua Nomad Nail Varnish ($14.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “bright jade” with a glossy finish. It’s a vibrant aqua-green with just a little too much green and aqua in it to be a true mint green. It’s like the lightest, brightest jade. China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint is much, much lighter. MAC Peppermint Patti is the closest shade I could think of, though it’s not as bright. Essie Turquoise & Caicos is bluer.
Illamasqua makes one of my favorite polish formulas, not just because the formula itself is excellent with impeccable wear (it’s one of the longest-wearing formulas on me–I’ve literally wore a color for 10-14 days with minor tip wear), but they often set and create trends and do so at a much more palatable price point than some higher-end brands like MAC, NARS, Dior, Chanel, and so forth. Nomad is no exception. I wore this shade for seven days with barely any tip wear and no chipping.
Nomad turns opaque in two coats, and the formula is a dream to work with–not too thick or too thin. It flowed fluidly across the nail and yielded even color, though it did take a little longer to dry than the average polish. The finish is slightly glossy, but I’d still recommend using a shiny top coat for a truly glossy finish.

So pretty! ^-^ Like the older sister of mint.
It’s a beautiful colour, but not one that would look good with my skin tone unfortunatly..
I want this as Essie Turquoise & Caicos and me didn’t get along when applying it. lol
Part of me wishes there was some subtle shimmer in there– then it’d be the perfect summer toe color.
So true, a little bit of shimmer would make this colour more original or at least stand out more to me.
you could always layer something over it..
I just bought this from Sephora a few days ago and I’m so glad that it’s not a disappointment. It’s my first Illamasqua polish and it was not cheap lol
I just put this on!
I NEED this nail polish, it’s gorgeous x
So beautiful…. so Jade!
How close is it to china glaze for audrey??
For Audrey is bluer 🙂
This is so gorgeous!
that is absolutely gorgeous!!
Wow, that is just amazing! Still not ready to take the plunge on an illamasqua polish, but I think I might soon, always amazing.. Thanks for the review!
A whole new way to wear brights with the 2 new releases from Illamasqua. Loving it and the shade released with it, Stance
This is not limited edition, correct?
Nevermind! Sorry for the bother! I must have missed it the first time!
I compared Orly Mint Mojito with Nomad last week and they were not identical but VERY VERY close!!
I love this color! I need it!! I feel like I have similar things already (like many mint shades) so the purchase wouldn’t be justified, but like you said it’s slightly different from mint. It’s deeper and more aqua/turquoise-like.
Christine, I wish you had reviewed this last week so I could have snagged it with the VIB discount! Oh well, I’m still gonna get it anyways, haha!
Sorry, I was testing the wear!
Love this! I find that because mint is such a trend, in a couple seasons I won’t like to still wear it (both polish and attire) but this is something that is close enough to still be on trend but last until the bottle runs out! Making this my first Illamasqua purchase for sure ^^
I would still rock that nail polish for Spring. 😉
I really like this color on you! Thanks for sharing your awesome swatches :>
I love this shade <3
Gorgeous color! Reminds me a lot of my Eyeko Vintage nail polish, such a shame they don´t make nail polishes anymore, because the colors were so pretty and cheap! 🙁
Ahh I love this color!!
Christine, if you read this could you consider doing a review on illamasqua load?
Sorry, I do not have that!
I’m totally in a mint fase, loved it
Wearing a similar color….Love it!!
There are a lot of duplicates out there! I’ll save some money!
Lovely color! I didn’t think I would want it at first because it looks similiar to other minty greens. Once I saw it in person I had to have it. It practically glowed on the new display! It’s definitely more green/aqua than any mint shade I’ve seen. ‘Thanks for the review! I love how you always have a consistent amount of photos for your polish reviews.
If you live in Italy, Germany, France, Spain or UK, you could find a dupe of this shade in Kiko Nail Polish number 389 🙂
Thank you, your review had me totally convinced!
Thanks for talking about the application, how it compared to other brands and dupes… It’s fantastic how comprehensive you are and the information is well-structured and easy to read too
No prob, Kyu! 🙂
