Dolce & Gabbana Cinnamon Eyeshadow Duo

Dolce & Gabbana Cinnamon Eyeshadow Duo ($36.00 for 0.17 oz.) contains a subtly yellow-toned light-medium pink with a soft, frosted finish and a warm, yellowed medium tan with a metallic-like sheen. The pink shade is warmer than Dior Garden Roses, subtler and more shimmery compared to MAC Sugar Snack, smoother than MAC Taupeless, less metallic than Inglot #431, and slightly more shimmery than MAC Pen ‘n’ Pink. The tan shade has a yellowness to it that makes it harder to dupe, actually. theBalm Stand-offish is warmer, less tan. Without the sheen, Urban Decay Naked might compare better with it, though it would still be darker.

Dolce & Gabbana’s eyeshadows are hit or miss for me; sometimes they’re stellar, but often, for as soft and silky smooth as they feel, they perform poorly on the eyes. Cinnamon was so-so; the pink shade required some packing to get it to stick and show up, but the tan shade was easier to work with. The textures of both shades was finely-milled and buttery, but the pink shade was looser, so there was a modicum of fall out during application. The pink blends out easily, but it will disappear if you aren’t careful, so I recommend using a light hand when blending. These wear about six hours before noticeably fading without a primer, and they still fade a bit after ten hours over a primer.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities!
