Chanel Dragon Rouge Allure Laque! 🙂 If I want to layer, then I’ll layer something like Bobbi Brown Naked Plum on top–makes it a little vampy and adds more shimmer.

I always use NYX Plush Res lip liner (since it’s the only red lip liner I own). For a dramatic red, I’ll use Kat Von D’s Adora, but I also have Chanel Dragon RAL now so maybe I’ll use that from now on! I don’t think either needs a gloss–it would ruin the metallic finish of Adora and Dragon pulls all its own weight.
But for an everyday easy red, I’ll just swipe a bit of Revlon Candy Apple lip butter without anything else. I love it!
I love NYC Sheer Red! And it’s only $1!
MUFE’s Red Aqua Lip under Guerlain’s KissKiss Extreme in 120 Rouge Infini topped with MUFE #21 lipstick. If I want gloss I’d top it off with Bourjois 3D Effet Max in 67 Beige Sunny (melon-gold shimmer in sheer base) then finally with Hard Candy Glossaholic in Rise & Shine (iridescent flakies in clear base — think Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure for your lips).
My longtime favorite red lip combination was MAC Cherry lip pencil with one of the following on top:

MAC Embellish
MAC Fanplastico
MAC Venetian
Mac’s Cherry lip liner with Ruby Woo and Lady Danger lipsticks is my faovorite combination. I’m an NC40/42 for reference.
Revlon’s Love That Red lipstick dabbed on underneath Chanel’s Big Bang lip gloss. love it! 🙂
MAC Russian Red lipstick over MAC Cherry liner is my go-to, but tomorrow I’m opting for OPI St. Petersburgundy lipstick to match my St. Petersburgundy nails. I’m hoping it’ll look fun and a little retro.
Dragon is my favorite all time red. It’s so stunning, I feel like it shines on its own and doesn’t need a combo. I do, however, like a darker red sometimes, so I’ll mix a red lipstick like MAC’s Ruby Woo and a dark brown lipstick. Makes for a beautiful vampy lip.
I only use one red lip color at a time…to let that one color stand out….and I like bold bold blue-based red lipsticks.

Wet n Wild raunchy red lippie ontop of Asda/george red twist up lip liner, with Primark Twist up liquid red Lipstick ontop for a bit of gloss.
The asda lip liner is such a smooth lipliner, and so hydrating!
I always wear mac ruby woo. For some reason I like the dry creamy texture of it instead of it bothering me.

I was about to get Gigolo at that time, but a BA there advised me to get something I would wear more often and she gave me a sample of Violine to pull more depth to it. They became my favorite red lip combo since then.

I hadn’t used red lippies for years, since I’m really picky with shades and the ones I liked – Icon lipgloss from Hourglass (from when they first came out) and this rich, deep blue red lipstick from Face Stockholm – were both discontinued.
I’m happy now, though, because MAC Runaway Red is the red I’ve been waiting for for years! Holy Grail red lip for me and I’ve worn it non-stop since it came out in the fall. Looks great with a tan or winter pale.
I like using NYX Hot Red lipliner with WnW Stoplight Red or Red Velvet matte lipsticks. This combo lasts the whooole day for me with no smudging or awkward fading. If I’m feeling more high maintainance I’ll pair the lipliner with Chanel Dragon.
I really like MAC On hold with Nars misbehave lipgloss or MAC red enriched cremestick liner with MAC So Scarlet lipstick.
Nars Mascate with a clear liner. Sometimes I put Benetint underneath, or Tarte gloss in Danny over it (from the Sandy/Danny double ended gloss).

I like MAC Dark Side. It’s deep enough for me to apply once, then I allow it to fade. This way, I don’t touch up as often. After 5 hours I get a sort of lip stain look.
I do love Chanel Dragon, but I also really like MAC Wonder Woman over Cherry lip liner. It’s a KAPOW red, yet the sparkles make it very youthful and fun.
lise watier’s lipliner in rouge, with lise watiers rouge plumpissimo in red boutique! its the nicest feel from a red lipstick, it smells like cookies and looks amazing on almost all of my customers!
i think you might only be able to buy it online or at SDM stores!
Mac Basic Red Pigment mixed with clear gloss over Mac Cherry Lipliner
I prefer a matte red lip, and I have two favorites – NARS Velvet Matte lip pencil in Cruella, and Sleek Pout Paint (I usually mix Pin Up and Peek a Bloo). Both are super long lasting and gorgeous shades of red!

Oh, how I love my reds. <3 It's hard to pick one.
I guess if I had to choose the lipstick that I fall back on the most, it's probably a Sephora lipstick I have in ruby red (I can't recall the exact name right now). It's the perfect shade of rich red, and, oddly enough, the finish is one I've had trouble duping elsewhere – the perfect medium between a matte and a gloss. I wear it with either my Covergirl liner in Passion or my Nyx liner in Hot Red.
