I carry as little makeup as possible because I like small uncluttered purses. I always have Kat Von D’s Lock-It Blotting Powder compact (it’s never part of my normal routine, but I keep it in my bag for quick touch ups) and my lipstick du jour (today it’s MAC Vegas Volt).

I keep a couple lippies – currently Cherry Chapstick, Neutrogena Norwegian Formula lip balm, clarins Instant Light Perfector, Estee Lauder Pure Color in Pink Parfait, and MAC Vamplify in Tuned In. I also threw a mini of Benefit Gimme Brow in my bag and have kept it in there for the past week or so. These are all in my work bag – but there‘s nothing in my normal purse!

I carry a separate beauty bag inside my bag:
Tweezerman slanted tweezers, compact mirror, Sephora clear waterproof lip liner, lipstick of the week (MAC Como La Flor), Aerin rose lip gloss or balm (can’t remember), dental floss, little plastic container of all my vitamins/supplements, eye drops, silver gel, silver spray/hand sanatizer, and a little baggie of q-tips and bandaids.

I have a pretty basic collection in my school bag. Some powder and a brush, Basketcase eyeliner, Pawpaw ointment and whatever lipstick I am feeling that day. I usually also throw in a tiny perfume for the days I am sweaty after walking to class, and some First Aid Beauty ultra repair cream.

Currently in my bag I have a package of blotting papers, the rimmel stay matte powder, my holy grail park ave princess amazonian butter lipstick, essence make me brow, mac blankety, and marc jacobs daisy rollerball. These are all pretty much constants in my bag – I always have blotting sheets, a pressed powder, a nude lipstick, and a rollerball.

I carry around more than most, but I like options for when need or whim strike. So usually three lipsticks (today: UD Lovelight, Almay ‘Butter Kiss’ in Berry Light-Medium; EL Naked Truth); Jack Black balm; two concealers (Cle de Peau for general use, NARS Soft Matte for spots); Rimmel Stay Matte translucent powder; Shiseido blotting papers. Plus staples like emery board, nail clippers, sample size hand cream (lately Philosophy). I keep a blush (MAC Prism) in desk for touch ups during the day.

I keep a locally made lip balm and LOTD in my bag. Today’s lippie is KVD Miss Argentina.

Other than that, it’s just a small compact mirror to make lipstick application easier!

Astrild Avatar

Two concealers that I mix to get the right color. Two brow pencils, same reason. And, of course, a bunch of lip products (several lip balms, a couple of lipsticks and a couple of lip glosses)

Nancy T Avatar

Actually had to grab my purse and look, because it changes every time I go out! But there are staples that stay in it: WnW Coverall Pressed Powder in Medium and a mini Kabuki brush to t/up oily breakthrough, a Bite mirror, Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Medium, MAC Prep & Prime for Lips, MUFE waterproof black eye pencil, Smashbox Always On Gel Liner in Fishnet (black), Prestige Waterproof Lipliner in Diva (hot fuchsia because I was wearing MAC Mittai Pink last time I was out and about), and a sample size of MAC Ruby Woo fragrance just in case.

I have Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation which I carry for touch ups and am just about finished with. I am not going to repurchase. It tends to go a little cakey on me. I have four shades of lipstick including Fenty Stunna Lip Color, L’Oréal Colour Riche Shine in Map to Nirvana, MAC Twig and Whirl. I have a hand held compact mirror with magnification and a rollerball of Tokymilk Femme Fatal scent in Tainted Love 69. I have the Colour Science Sunscreen in the brush applicator form for adding sunscreen during the day.

Roop Chorcha Avatar

Well, let’s see… Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask, MAC Ruby Woo, Clarins Fix’ Makeup Spray, Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk compact, Becca Liptuitive Glow Gloss, Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black EDP rollerball, Marc Jacobs Daisy EDP rollerball, Chloe EDP rollerball, Loccitaine Shea hand cream, Boscia Green Tea blotting sheets, that’s it 🙂

Tarte Natural Beauty Blush, Smashbox Red Rage lipstick, Rimmel pressed powder and Harry’s (the Harry’s Razor Company) lip balm (which, sadly, they no longer make). And Gravol (because of vertigo issues, I have Gravol EVERYWHERE – gym bag, school bag, purse makeup bag….)

Brenda C Avatar

I too have Gravol, for the nausea I get with my migraines and IBS. Otherwise, the most current Pat McGrath lip color that I am wearing, same with the eyeliner that I am wearing for the day and a cover up stick just in case. Nudestix makeup eraser, in case of mascara transfer or anything else that needs to be touched up. Last but not least the Beauty Blender Face Blotter for my t zone.

CeeBee Avatar

Cripes, I have Colourpop lippie stix in Lumiere and Cami in my makeup purse at all times… without actually checking I’d say there is also Lanolips Lemon-aid lip balm, Time Balm concealer, Rimmel crayon balm stain stick thing in On Fire, Jordana 12hr Made To Last eyeliner in Black Point and a NYX soft matte cream in either Cannes or Milan or Rome…

And sitting right next to my makeup bag is the brand spanking new Viseart Tryst palette I received about 20 minutes ago (drool…)

uris Avatar

a tooon of lippies! I too have fenty glossbomb, bobbi brown bare, nyx plush, rimmel lip oil in orange mode, an essence lipliner, colourpop brink and strip, a burt’s bees and carmex lipbalm! 🙂

Rachel R. Avatar

MUFE Studio Case eyeshadows, which I depotted into a small Z-palette, Tony Moly Cats Wink Powder, Jersey Shore Suns Mongongo lip balm, UD 24/7 Eye Pencils in Perversion and Twice Baked, Nyx Photogenic HD Concealer in Porcelain, e.l.f. Makeup Remover Pen, deluxe sample of Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara, rollerball of Lady Gaga Fame Black Fluid, and 4 or 5 lippies (I keep forgetting to take them out).

Gilad Avatar

I often put on base products at home and do the rest of my makeup in the car. So makeup bag includes: mascara, brown eyeliner, contour/bronzer, nude-pink lipliner, a couple of lipsticks, a gloss, a tiny and wonderful eyeshadow quad (gwp from EL), eye cream, a tiny decant of foundation, concealer if (when) mascara smudges. I admire all the light packers out there. I change up the lipsticks when I get bored – after maybe a month or two.

Amy E Henry Avatar

I have a Stowaway eye shadow palette, a Laura Mercier caviar stick, a IT Cos brow pencil for brow and liner, marc jacobs mini Omega, a MJ perfume/lip gloss double thing, a makeup remover wipe, BB blush.

sleepybird Avatar

One tiny Smashbix eyeshadow duo sample for emergencies, a travel size mascara, Revlon powder compact and way too many lippies! I discovered I was carrying UD Naked gloss, Vice lipsticks in F Bomb and Manic, UD Sheer Revolution in Beso, Smashbox lipstick in Cognac, and a mini Buxom lip polish in Clair. Plus two Yes to Coconut lip balms (My HG). Guess it’s time to declutter my bag!

Lea Avatar

An insane number of lip options, always something I apply on my way out the door or on my commute, lip balm, my CdP concealer and a Chantecaille illuminating concealer (in case I need to cover or brighten) and a mini Marc Jacobs Blacquer. Did I mention the absolutely insane number of lip products?

bibi Avatar

A Travelo perfume mini atomizer with Carnal Flower in it, a Chanel glossimer lipgloss in a shimmery pale pink, Estee Lauder’s Pure Color lippy in Pink Parfait, dental floss, a nail file, a travel size tube of L’Occitane’s shea butter hand cream, 2 single use packs of face wipes. & an IT Cosmetics compact of Your Skin But Better CC+ Airbrush Perfecting Powder SPF 50+

Nikki Avatar

Short answer: lip balm (a Cinnabon lip balm by Lotta Luv from a random drugstore purchase-I think it’s discontinued now-if anyone knows or can find out where to buy it, I’d much appreciate it!) and Revlon Super Lustrous Wild Orchid lipstick.
Long answer: I carry purses as infrequently as I can-not a big handbag girl-and don’t usually think to grab a tote on my way out, so I pretty much always have on me a small makeup case that fits in my pocket and holds my lip balm, lipstick, ID, and money. If I need to carry another product-like powder, mascara, etc.-with me on a particular day, I carry a larger makeup case like you would a clutch and put my small case in it along with the other product.

Tawny Avatar

I always have LipSense Gloss- usually Sand & Matte, Karite Lip balm, Glossier Boy Brow, Becca Opal highlighter (the mini size), essential oil roller ball (usually YL Stress Away + Lemon Myrtle or Joy) and Trader Joe’s hand cream.

Bonnie Avatar

I’m not dumping my purse out to look, but from memory (which means I’m sure there’s more): about 10 lipsticks/glosses, Miracle Blur, Neutrogena Hydroboost Moisturizer (in case I feel dry during the day), hand cream, 1 or 2 little perfumes, then the makeup bag…Naked Basics, ELF Brow Pencil, Jordana black eyeliner, Chapstick, Milani Blur stick, about 10 more lipsticks, some mascara from a subscription box brand, pencil sharpener, tweezers, floss, nail file…and about 3 bottles of nail polish.

I need a foundation in there now. Maybe my mini Hourglass stick.

Adrianna Avatar

Let’s see… TF Honey Bear never leaves the purse. (I have 3 of them) lippie du jour-today is Revlon Sassy Mauve (dupe for MAC Syrup), Brow Wiz, Tarte blush Paaaaarty (bday gift from Sephora), IT Bye bye pores compact…Hmmmmm… Hourglass 1.8? Mm liner in Canyon and a powder and blush brush.
In a separate pocket in the purse is a tiny CetaPhil lotion and OH! My Gloss Bomb!
It’s been MIA for a week. Yay! I didn’t lose it!

Silvia Avatar

Always a cute small mirror, a retractable lip brush, always Chapstick. and a few lipsticks like 5-7 (don’t ask why?) just love carrying my ton of lipsticks instead of a gun I feel safer with my lipsticks lol! I show them to my mom and she thinks I’m crazy why so many. and one gloss or a sort of softer stick than my chapsticks to give them glow sometimes or mix. But I never carry blush or eyeshadow even when traveling I’ll leave them at he hotel don’t want to brake any just my lipsticks besides they can work as blush in a rush.

Mo Merrell Avatar

I have today’s lipstick which is nars power matte in Star Woman and I always keep a liphloss which was Fenty gloss bomb but i lost it.
