Estee Lauder Blackened Sapphire Pure Color Intense Kajal Eyeliner

Estee Lauder Blackened Sapphire Pure Color Intense Kajal Eyeliner ($20.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a deep navy blue with a hint of indigo. It has a matte finish, and it has a fair amount of pigmentation in a single pass, but it builds up really easily and well. The texture is creamy without being slippery. It has a really dense feel and wears well on the lash line for ten hours or so (waterline is less, five to six hours). I couldn’t think of any dupes–a lot of my navy blue eyeliners are lighter or have shimmer, which tends to lighten the overall appearance.

Navy blue is an excellent alternative to black while still getting a really defined eye.  It can also add a pop of color without adding brightness to your favorite neutral look (which is my favorite way to wear it).  The matte base makes it more versatile, too, because you can smudge a shimmery eyeshadow to play with the finish and dimension of it.

I saw this at the Estee Lauder counter, swatched it and loved it. I’m getting this one, the electric teal and the blackened plum. I am on a waiting list for the teal kajal. So when they call, I’m gonna get two of them along with the plum and sapphire.

wow, this is pretty – as far as new eyeliners go, i think i have to pick up at least one of these kajals and mufe aqua liner in black!

This is currently my favorite eyeliner for my waterline. I use it with UD Sabbath on my lashline. I wear it at least three or four times a week!

Love the color…don’t know if I can stomach $20 for one eyeliner pencil, though. I usually use kohl powder when I’m itching for navy eyeliner.

Hnn, I wonder how I missed this at the counter, it’s such a lovely blue. Surprising how difficult good navy liners can be to find. It’ll be a fun splurge right before classes start. 🙂 Thanks for reviewing it!
