Haul: J.Cat Triple Crown Baked Eyeshadow in Dolce de Leche, KL Polishes in Zoey & Das Esspensive XXVI
Weekend plans: grocery shopping, cleaning the house, church on Sunday, family dinner
What are you looking forward to in February? My husband is traveling for 2 weeks so February 23rd is on my mind!
Ohhh nooo I never play with a big rope with my dog. He loves to whip his head around with it. I always get smacked. He’s also terrible at sharing so I’m like Leslie Knope: one of us always ends up mad. ?
Haul: Sleek Au Naturel palette
Weekend plans: Daughter’s boyfriend will be staying with us, so we’ll probably take him to the pub 🙂
What are you looking forward to in February?: Getting laminate flooring in kitchen and living room, and also a new bathroom. Plus, we’re going to the Winter’s End music festival later in the month.
Oooh all good things! Hope your upgrades come out perfect! Have fun at the festival!
Best of luck with your rennovations and the Sleek Au Natural palette is really beautiful.
Haul: I finally decided on a full sized face cream to buy! Full size Farmacy honey drop moisturizer and a deluze sample of too faced primed & peachy.
Has anyone else bought the full sized honey drop? I find the cap to be really poor and it doesn’t want to close tightly. Is this across the board or is it just mine, like if I exchange it will I have one with a better cap?
Weekend plans: well we’re kinda snowed in atm. Husband worked from home this morning and has the afternoon off. We’re SUPPOSED TO have reservations at Topolobampo (a michelin star restaurant in the city) tonight but unless I can get confirmation that the roads are clear we’ll have to cancel. The rest of the weekend we’re installing a backup sump pump and a whole house water filter.
What are you looking forward to in Feb: Our family vacation to Oahu! We leave the 22nd and stay 2 days with friends in San Diego before going to Haleiwa with my mom’s extended family for a week.
We were in Oahu at the end of January. If you have not done so, there is an article on the Eater website about the best things to eat in Honolulu.
Thanks! We have reservations at Alan Wong’s for our last night, and the house we’re renting has a full kitchen so we’re doing family dinners most nights, but we might end up eating in Honolulu the day we see Pearl Harbor so another place to eat would be good to know!
Try to have lunch at The Pig and the Lady after Pearl Harbor! (Or dinner…)
We ate at MW. The chefs there trained with Alan Wong. We also liked Town.
Oh no, I hope you make it to your dinner! This snow just keeps coming down…
We just decided not to risk it and cancelled unfortunately. We live an hour from the city and IDOT is reporting I-55 as fully covered with ice/snow.
I’m sorry you had to cancel your dinner. I think it was the smart thing to do. I’m glad you’ll be safe.
Haul: The Natasha Denona Darya Palette…just got this yesterday and I am so excited to play!
And my SO bought me the SugarpillxLittleTwinStar Set…so much play this weekend!
Weekend plans: Sleeping in and some Galentine’s Day Fun!
What are you looking forward to in February?: I am looking forward to making changes; working toward my goals slowly and I am seeing progress.
Nice picks! Have fun 😉
Darya and the Sugarpill LittleTwinStar set? What a great haul! I would be excited to play too!
Haul: I might pick up some stencils, stamps, and a sticker book
Weekend plans: Going to dinner and a show with my mom and possibly going to a bakery/The Met with my sisters
What are you looking forward to in February?: Book sale next week!
Ok if I ask what you’ll be seeing?
I’m going to see Shen Yun. I saw it about 8 years ago, and I really loved it.
Oooh how fantastic! I wanted to see them when they were at the Kennedy Center. I think they’re coming back this Spring. I really need to get tickets. Enjoy!
You should definitely check it out. Make sure you don’t get seats too close to the stage! It’s better if you see it from a bit further back.
You should check it out! Definitely get seats that aren’t close to the stage though. You’ll enjoy the experience and overall show more.
Oh thanks for the tip; I wouldn’t have thought of that but of course it makes sense! I think it will be a great show to see in the Spring. I actually think it’s also coming to Baltimore which might make for a nice girls’ weekend.
Haul: I ordered some ABH shadows when they were $20/4, and I finally got those but one was the wrong item so I still have Buon Fresco on the way (and got Suede in the process). I also ordered Concrete Jungle, Barcelona Beach, Graphite, Moondust, and Tuscon Sun for half off because they were “damaged” (it’s never anything too drastic).
Weekend plans: I’m going to see Justice League on campus tonight, and then after that it’s study, study, study, and write, write, write!
What I’m looking forward to in February: “Spring break” at the end of the month (it’s not spring and the weather still sucks, but hey, it’s a week off class).
I’d love to hear your thoughts on the Tacha Silk Canvas after you try it out. I’m not sure I’d spend the money, but it looks really lovely!
Mellan looks so cuuuute by the way! He’s still such a puppy!
Haul: probably some crafty things
Weekend plans: hanging out with the fam doing various things like going to a shower, dinner, bakery, and maybe the Met!
What are you looking forward to in February?: a book sale and a weekend off at the end of the month!
Haul: I got the entire Jouer Holday 2017 gift sets in a bundle for 30% it came in two weeks ago.
I got the ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS Nude Matte Lipstick Set & Maybelline The CityKits UrbanLight Eye + Cheek Palette when I was shopping for pants for my new job. 😉
Weekend plans: Weekends are FREE….. I’m not working them anymore. So blogging, and cosplay work.
What are you looking forward to in February?: My Dad’s B-Day is at the end of the month.
Haul: Lancome’s spring macaron shaped cream blush, it should arrive today.
Weekend plans: bonfire on the beach tomorrow night!
Looking forward to in February: the highlight of the month was actually last week when we went to Banff, Alberta for a few days! It was extremely cold (negative 18 F at the lowest) but we had so much fun!
It must have been so beautiful up in Banff, do you ski?
Haul:
AmmoCosmetix (30% off): Love Ablaze Pressed Pigment Palette, Pressed Pan ( Force, Boom, Savage, Inferno) Pigment sample (Rebound, Magnetic)
Creed: Valentine’s Day Coffret for Her. I’ve only reviewed 2 Creed fragrances so thought it was a good price/opportunity to test more.
Darling Girl (8% off with my Code BINXCAT4EVER8): #mancrushmonday Trio, Enchanting Elba (GWP), Pressing Medium, Loose Pigment (Oasis)
Idun Minerals (10% off): Nordic Veil (Disa), Matte Powder (Tuva)
Idun Minerals (20% off): Eyeshadow Palette (Lavendel), Eye Shadow (Förgätmigej, Pion, Nästrot)
JINSoon Beauty (15% off): Nail Polish (Mica, Nocturne). Mica may be my very first re-order of any polish shade. Absolutely love the shade…and it wears easily 2 weeks on my natural (long) nails if I want it to even though I type all day every day and have my hands in water quite a bit.
Kiss My Sass ($5 off): Perfume (The Poet 30 ml). Review was posted on my fragrance blog.
LASplash (Sale plus 25% off with my Code BINX): Dauntless Mascara (Fearless, Feisty, Intoxicating). My absolute favorite colored mascara.
Sephora: Violet Voss The Rainbow Eyeshadow Palette, IGK Foamo Holographic Hair Foam (Meteor), Cover FX Glitter Drops (Mirage – deluxe sample), Point Redemption – Atelier Cologne Endless Love in a Bottle/ Café Tuberosa Cologne Absolue Pure Perfume (30 ml). Swatches/review of the VV palette were posted this morning on my blog and social media.
Tarte (15% off): Color Splash Shade Shifting Lipstick (Yacht Week, Scuba Dive, Pink Sand). Arrives tomorrow.
Ulta: Too Faced La Crème Mystical Effects Lipstick (Unicorn, Mermaid), IT Brushes for Ulta (Velvet Luxe Buffing Brush #301, 50% off). Swatches should be up this weekend.
Ulta ($5 off): Essence Vibrant Shock Lash & Brow Gel Mascara (01 Go Berry!, 02 Sparkle On, 04 Be Fun & Lila!), Essence Out of Space Stories Nail Polish (Intergalactic Adventure, Space Glam, Space is the Place), Essence Extreme Lasting Eye Pencil (Nighttime in the Jungle), Dose of Colors Lip Gloss (Goalz, Jazzy)
Urban Decay: Disco Queen (Holographic Highlight Powder, Holographic Disco Stick), Hi Fi Lipgloss (Naked – GWP)Posted a vid of the swatches last night although IG distorted my vid! GRRRRRR. POsted on my blog, etc. this morning.
Weekend plans: Dinner tonight with my daughter. I need to get the Too Faced, Tarte, and some other new items swatched and posted. I really need to get to write my review of a fragrance I’ve been testing the past 3 days.
What are you looking forward to in February?: Not much going on this month except work. I am getting a badly needed haircut next weekend – and yes, looking forward to it! It’s at the weird length growing out where I’m starting to have difficulty making it look ok.
Blue is certainly your color, Mellan!
Haul: Just basic stuff. Kat von D Tatoo Liner in Mad Max Brown; Laura Mercier Candleglow Sheer Perfecting Powder (not here yet).
Weekend plans: dinner tomorrow with friends visiting from out of town; brunch on Sunday with different friends.
What am I looking forward to in February? I am looking forward to it being over. I realize that I should not be wishing my life away but I always wish for the cold, nasty weather to pass.
Haul: Nada, I’m still on my no-buy.
Weekend pans: idk, I may go to a potluck a social group I’m part of is doing tomorrow. I’m sure it would be fun but I’ve been super tired and stressed lately so I’m not sure I’ll have the energy. I’ll also probably get in few hours of work
(the cause of the tiredness and stress).
What are you looking forward to in February? I’m going on vacation to Central America! 😀 😀 😀
Haul: Bite Beauty Mauvember lipstick (love the color but it feathers, even with lipliner and MAC Prep n Prime), Bite Beauty lip pencils in Violet and Tulip (Tulip is pretty but Violet is gorgeous!), and Fenty Gloss Bomb (perfect, I highly recommend). I also picked up Chikuhdo’s Z-1 Brush during the recent Visage sale, specifically for use with Hourglass Diffused Light. I love the Z series and I am excited to add this to my collection. I have an eyeshadow brush, the Trish McEvoy #23, that works amazingly well when I am working with patchy eyeshadows, and I picked up a backup this week. The backup isn’t as densely packed as my original so I am uncertain if it will work as well. I plan on trying it out this week. If it does work as well, it is a must-have brush for densely packing on color, especially if you have a shadow that is patchy.
Weekend plans: I started my new job this week. I am connecting very well with the woman training me, we have so many similar life experiences and we approach counseling in a similar manner. I started practicing mindfulness with the Headspace App because we do it with clients everyday in office. Between my mindfulness practice and the significantly lower stress level of this job, I am feeling more like myself than I have in the past three years. I knew that once I got away from my job, I would instantly recognize that I should have left sooner. And it’s true. I am feeling so much better and am glad to move on.
February: I am looking forward to learning more about my new job and actually having time with my husband and family. Stress compromised me on so many levels at my old job, and even when I was at home, I was not mentally available.
I am so happy for you, Tammy, that this new job is a much better fit and way less stressful! Decompression after a particularly stress filled peiod of time feels so wonderfully freeing and peaceful, doesn’t it? ?
Great haul! So happy you’re syncing with the new job too!
I’m glad to hear the new job is going well!
Glad to hear it, Tammy. Good for you.
I am so happy for you Tammy. We spend so much time at work and with the people we work with that it just saps the strength out of us if it isn’t a pleasant experience. I am sure the benefits will just keep growing. It also sounds like a great relationship with your preceptor/mentor so that is a good thing also.
Sorry to hear about the Bite Mauvember. It is such a beautiful color. I am going to have to check out the Tulip lip pencil. I was looking through my collection of lip pencils just today and noticed how many I have that are basically the same color and that there are lots of gaps in my collection so going to start paying more attention to lip liner releases. I am enjoying wearing lip gloss and like to put a lip pencil on and then gloss. I used MAC More to Love today and hadn’t used it in a long time. Really lovely color and I like the MAC formula as it is stiff enough not to bleed into my lip lines.
Fantastic news about your job Tammy – it sounds perfect for you plus the better working hours.
It is hard to leave a familiar place, even if it’s destroying you slowly. Now that you’re in a much better place you will feel so much happier.
Haul: Keeping strong with my low-buy, haven’t picked up anything for weeks.
Weekend plans: Mostly going to stick close to home and start tidying up the apartment for an impending in-law visit, but we might also go over to a “maker market” a couple of towns over. I also think we’ll finish watching Altered Carbon.
What I’m looking forward to in February: Aforementioned in-law visit. I’m one of those lucky people who gets along with her mother-in-law 🙂 I haven’t seen my in-laws in a few years, and it will also be really fun to get to play “tourist” for a few days, and eat out a lot.
Well done AJ on your low buy. I am just shopping my stash at the moment too.
Mellan!!! ? (Some species confusion going, I hear!)
Haul: Waiting for last week’s haulage from ColourPop to arrive this afternoon. Other than that, this week’s haul is *very* different from what I planned, unfortunately. Instead of buying the MAC x Jeremy Scott Lo-Fi eyeshadow palette, I bought UD x Kristen Leanne Kaleidoscope. Basically, MAC appears to have dropped the ball when it came to the actual EYESHADOWS within it. I’m depressed as all get out over it, because for me, this collection is so incredibly nostalgic! I’m from the age when MTV and VH1 played music videos all day long, when we wore some truly wild clothing and makeup, and I really expected this collection to deliver. It failed. Shame on MAC.
Oh, I did get a replacement of an empty MJ Blaquer Highliner and a Sephora Lip Stories in Hong Kong at Night. Redeemed 250 pts. for that adorable pin set!
Weekend plans: My usual, I suppose. Definately hair and my meeting on Sunday. *Still* growing out that right index fingernail! Via teabag patches and brush on nail glue. Almost past the quick. Mentally coming to terms that I will likely be moving out of the neighborhood. Much harder than I anticipated, too. On Wednesday, my friend and I drove out to Goodyear, picked up my son, and he gave us an apartment complex tour of that area. Not bad. But it’s not city life. No local malls. No bustling night life. Yet, this may *actually* be good for me.
What are you looking forward to in February? A cold spell, PLEASE!!! These 80°+ days are driving me buggy because late December till beginning of March we normally have some refreshing, cool weather (55°-70° daytime). Plus some rainy, colder days, too.
I think you’ll love the Kaleidoscope palette, Nancy.
Rachel, after I swatched it last night, I was a goner! The pigmentation is so rich!
Still experincing hot weather Nancy? That must be awful for you.
Did you like the apartment complex you saw? Is it far away from your friends?
I’ll say a prayer for some cold weather for you.
Haul: Too Faced Peachy Matte palette, Fenty Pro Filter Primer, Fenty Beauty Bomb Baby Mini Lip and Face set, Sephora Collection Contour Blush Spice Market Blush Palette, Shiseido Facial Cotton, and got some amazing samples from both Too Faced and Sephora, mascara samples and skincare! I also selected the Bite Beauty birthday gift.
Weekend plans: Surprise birthday trip. I am excited! My fiancee’ just told me to “pack a bag!”
What are you looking forward to in February? February is my birthday month, hence the reason for my slight haul. I have been doing really well not purchasing and shopping my stash since November so I am excited about having a few new things. I had a great actual birthday yesterday, but I do a small celebration every weekend. Last weekend, I had a girls night with my friends. This weekend, I have a surprise trip with my fiancee’. The following weekend my parents come to visit and take me to dinner/shop. The last weekend in February I usually declutter and make room for spring.
Happy birthday! Surprise trip? Wow, such a fantastic idea – have fun!
Happy birthday Elle! It is so nice to reward yourself after months of good behavior. You will have to let us know where your fiancé takes you for your birthday trip.
Happy birthday!
That’s a perfect surprise for your birthday – I love extended birthdays myself too. I hope you really enjoy the weekend and happy birthday to you.
Hello to all who wanted an update on the surprise trip. We did a quick little getaway to Birmingham, AL (about 2.5 hours from where we live) where he had a lot of nice things planned. He had an engagement photoshoot set up (we have been an engaged for a month today), tickets to a concert with some of my favorite artists, and a reservation at a really nice local restaurant, Daniel George. We also went to 2 breweries as we both love craft beer and got a chance to hangout with some of our friends from college. Overall, it was a wonderfully planned weekend and I am so thankful to have such a thoughtful fiance’.
Haul: Sephora: Repurchased my Sunday Riley Good Genes to have a backup, Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic and Retinol Eye Serum, again as backup. J One Jelly Pack for my daughter along with KVD Tatoo Liner in black and brown for her also.
Target: Pixi Milky Mist, L’Oréal Colour Rishe Shine in Coral.
Fudejapan: Chanel Spring 2018 Highlighter Powder and Guerlain Snow Finishing Powder. I have been a sucker for finishing powders lately.
Weekend Plans:: Not much. Getting a jump on spring cleaning.
Looking forward to February: I am hoping for more snow. Sounds crazy but that is what I want most for February.
Those powders sound really special.
Awwww, come play tug of war with me, Momma! Ugh, doing taxes!
*Haul– WNW Megaglo Liquid Highlighter in Halo Gorgeous
*Weekend- will be busy, dinner and lunch with friends, and also my turn to cook
*February-always excited for new makeup releases
Katherine, These new makeup releases are killing me. My wish list is large and I am trying to restrain myself! Already so many nice, new lovelies.
Ahahahaha, same here!! Every time I swear I’m going to go on a low-buy and shop my already awesome stash, the brands unleash a barrage of new and completely irresistible goodies!
Haul:
-Trader Joe’s: picked up a rose water spray toner from the new product shelf. It’s only around $4, but when I got home, I realized it’s actually twice as much per fl oz as my Thayers, haha. Still, I’m excited to try it!
-Ulta: got a $10 coupon in the mail. It says it’s for any purchase $10 or more, but the store employees wouldn’t accept it for my tube of Soap & Glory Heel Genius ($10 even). I ended up getting two tubes, rather than randomly throwing in something cheap to up the $ amount. I will definitely need and use both tubes (it’s a repurchase for me), but still kind of annoying. (But not too annoying, because I essentially got $10 free)
-Julep: my Feb maven box came in the mail. I skipped January because I’m still trying to absorb all the new products I got around the holidays, but I needed refills of a couple standbys (Ta Da! quick dry drops and Voila! nail polish thinner), plus there was a nice shimmery red (Norah) that somehow doesn’t /exactly/ dupe one of the other 20 bottles of red nail polish I already have. Also an emery board, because why not.
Weekend plans:
Still playing catch-up with the Oscars. The only BP nominee I have left to see is ‘The Post,’ so probably that. The cinema near me is also playing ‘A Fantastic Woman’ (best foreign language nominee), so I’m going to try for that too. Probably visit MoMA as well.
What are you looking forward to in February?:
I get President’s Day off!
Your comment about the red polish made me think of a .gif Muse had on. Pic of Ryan Reynolds, iirc, looking quite hot. Caption: ‘Well, it’s not exactly like any of the 500 brown eyeshadows you have at home. Better get it!’ So true. We like what we like, and tend to rationalize small tweaks in color or finish, esp in lipstick.
That’s how I am with NARS Hell Gate right now. Trying to convince myself not to get it because I have SO MANY similar dupes, but none are quite the same …
A Fantastic Woman sounds interesting. What were your favorite BP nominees?
A Fantastic Woman was pretty dark (as you might guess from the subject matter) but very worth seeing. I loooooved Call Me By Your Name more than any movie I’ve seen in years. Phantom Thread was great too — even if you don’t care for the plot (it takes an unexpected turn from what the trailers show), the clothes are amazing! I also enjoyed The Square a lot (Sweden’s foreign language submission, though about half of it’s in English), but you definitely need a stomach for awkward/cringe humor.
Haul: Summing up last weeks since my purchasing pattern has been pretty limited lately, for no particular reason: Clinique Naturally Glossy mascara and Aveeno eczema soothing lotion — because a Cover Girl mascara set off a harsh irritation on my lids, so I needed lotion and a new mascara. That might be it, actually.
Weekend: The usual errands and pilates Saturday; shopping trip with friend Sunday to check out end of season sales (for clothes).
February: Lots of family birthdays fall in this month, so some get togethers for that; and, end of month a week long business trip to Germany.
Haul: no color. Yay, me. Between U & S, a train case…the one with the Monstera leaves, finally a small bottle of Fix+, DS of Belif Water Bomb and La Neige Lip sleeping mask. So tired of Bite Agave, that barely comes out of the tube! the Ulta bar soaps, and some Shea Moisture bath in Sacha Inchi. Plans: SSDW, but Patti is walking, also had a tooth abscess. Most expensive dog ever, and I haven’t even had her a year! Start on taxes. Night job, whatever. Feb…and most months…make me realize how different adulthood has been. Used to go skiing in the Laurentians, and at nearly 70, get zero vacations and have to work 2 part time jobs. The professional one is driving most of us nuts. Lucky I have a job at all! Happy Oahu, Alice. And very glad this job is less stressful, Tammy. Always wanted Banfield/Lake Louise, Lulle. Was so annoyed that my ‘rents went without me! Central America, 13/13? Excellent. You certainly are increasing the wish list, Ms Binx! What is Rachel’s blog?
An abscess too? Oh my dear!
Poor Patticake just can’t seem to catch a break, can she! And you, either, KJH. Hopefully, there will be a much deserved respite soon.
I hope your little darling dog gets better soon – a tooth abcess is not fun at all. Just ask Tammy!
Sorry that I missed this post Friday. Poor Patti! I hope she’ll recover from the absess OK.
“What is Rachel’s blog?” Not sure if you meant me. I don’t have my own blog, but I’m the makeup writer for Dear Darkling Magazine.
http://www.deardarkling.com/category/makeup/
Haul: Not much! By Terry Cream Melba Glow Duo Stick and Slim Compact Eyeshadow Kit in the nude colorway. Not sure the shadow palette will be sticking around though – I was underwhelmed with it on the first go around. I’m going to give it more of a go, but I wasn’t wowed sadly. I also found I didn’t love working with the square in square configuration; my brushes fit, but I could see it getting problematic as you use down the powders.
Weekend plans: If I can, I may make a brief appearance at Nordstrom to see see some of the new Chantecaille releases (and get a peek at the summer and fall release book so I can plan ahead). Otherwise, hubs heads on a boys trip tomorrow, so I will continue to clean our house and prep to put it on the market and get his taxes assembled and off to the accountant. My former employer screwed mine up (again!!) so I have to wait another three weeks for my corrected forms before I can file mine.
What are you looking forward to in February?: I’m looking forward to the Olympics and hubs birthday later this month. I’ve already past the hard bits of the month with my (late) father’s birthday, so it’s all positive from here.
Haul: I went a bit wild on the Deciem site with The Ordinary and got waaaay too many things. I got the new Marine Hyaluronics as I love the Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and this is supposed to be a lighter weight version which will be great for summer. I’m also going to try their 100% Plant-Derived Squalane to see how it works in terms of hydration and maybe use it on my hair. I also got three oils, 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil, 100% Cold-Pressed Virgin Marula Oil and 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil as they’re hella cheap compared to others and I’ve really been enjoying using my Jade Roller (from Mount Lai which is also much cheaper than other jade rollers I’ve seen) with oils and they can make for a good evening pamper. THEN I also got some acids, which is very new for me, but Gothamista and some other research convinced me my skin might be able to handle them. I got the Lactic Acid 5% + HA 2% for overall as the 5% part may mean my skin can take it, and I got the AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution for more targeted (aka all over my chin) use as many people with sensitive skin have had surprisingly good things to say about it. Then I put two primers and two foundations in my cart, their High-Spreadability Fluid Primer and High-Adherence Silicone Primer, and the Serum Foundation and Coverage Foundation. I’m testing those out partly because if they work I have super cheap options, and partly for my sister who needs to wear makeup for Audi shows and is pretty broke. I already have the Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, the Buffet, the Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG and the Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA at home, so when everything comes in I will literally own FIFTEEN items from The Ordinary… But it barely broke the bank and whatever works out will be a great cheaper option than other products I have used.
Weekend plans: Stay in as well, also prep, but for more injections and finally getting to see the pain psychologist who will hopefully be good as they’re going to be integral in fixing some runaway pain pathways my brain decided to make.
What are you looking forward to in February?: Not really sure. Maybe doing something small for the Lunar New Year?
Haul: Trader Joes goodies where are amazing! Ordinary and Shiedo on the way too. Oh and points stuff!
Weekend: Shopping, cleaning, maybe a dog outing, and getting my hubby’s car worked on. Monday… the final signing!
What am I looking forward to: MY HUSBAND MADE V DAY PLANS HIMSELF! It’s only a nice french restaurant but he didn’t have to be told, it’s not the month after, and he made the plans without being told to and didn’t throw a fit. Maybe at 32, he’s no longer a man baby.
are amazing, Jesus I need a nap. I got a body oil, face mist, and a new hand soap!
Aw – how sweet! Hope the two of you enjoy – you deserve it!
Awww, how sweet of your hubby. Have a great night out!
It’s great news when a man grows up and makes really good social plans himself. Congratulations Erin.
Good luck for the signing of your house…hope it all goes smoothly.
He is still such a puppy, wanting to play!
Haul: Nothing this week, apart from repurchasing the La Roche Posay’s Ultra light sunscreen SPF50
Weekend Plans: After another scorching week, we are finally getting some cooler weather on Sunday.
Saturday – just shopping and chores and on Sunday we are heading up into the mountains to visit some country towns.
Looking forward to in Feburary: This is one of my least favourite months of the year as it is always so, so hot, so I am looking forward to when the month is over and I can see autumn on the horizon.
On the brighter side, our grandson Lachlan’s birthday is on the first and we had lots of little birthday parties for him last week. He is really becoming a little boy, not a baby anymore.
Haul:
*Notoriously Morbid — From the new Ghouls & Graves Collection: Diablo Lip Rouge in Sepulcher; Mystic Mattes in Tomb and Vault; Semi-Loose Shadows in Shrine, Altar, and Sanctuary; Highlighters in Ossuary and Exsanguination. Other: Eyeshadow in Party Like It’s 2018, Semi-Loose Shadow in The Night Court, and Divinations Blush in Astrology.
*Darling Girl Cosmetics — Diamond Dust in Comet, A Doctor’s Dream, and Smelly Cat; eyeshadow/pigments in Demon Kitty, Love Arrow, and “I love Ross. I hate Ross.”
*Macy’s — Tweezerman LED 15x Lighted Mirror
*Amazon — Ardell Professional Magnetic Accents magnetic eyelashes. I haven’t tried them yet, but Phyrra Nyx seems to like them, and they look gorgeous on her.
*Juvia’s Place — Douce Eyeshadow Palette. I was boycotting them, but I have to compare some pastel palettes for research. At least it’s a really good palette, and I didn’t pay much for it (whopping big coupon on top of the last sale).
Weekend plans: Nothing special.
What are you looking forward to in February?: Nothing at the moment. My older son’s 23rd birthday is near the end of the month, so maybe I can plan something fun for the family. So far Feb. is shaping up to be as awful as Jan. was, so we’ll see. *knocks on wood*
Haul: I picked up some eyeshadow brushes at Marshall’s for dirt cheap – a MAC 234 and Sigma E30 and E55; also Butter London nail polish in the shade Snog and finally a tube of Embryolisse, which I absolutely adore and which is just what my skin needs in this long, harsh winter.
Weekend plans: maybe the gym but shoveling out all the on-going snow may end up being our workout tomorrow. I also want to make some soup and some other comfort foods – maybe meatloaf. I haven’t felt at all like cooking in the past week or so but feel I should make some home cooked “real” food.
What are you looking forward to in February: mostly, I’m looking forward to it being over. We’ve got a few social obligations (parties and such) that I’d really like to get past. Friends’ daughter is having a wedding party (not the actual wedding but a post wedding party) that I thought was going to be casual and fun but which is actually formal so I had to rush out and try to find something suitable to wear and now I have to take the pants (dressy evening trousers) to be shortened and taken in a bit (I love to sew but had to alter ready-to-wear stuff). A few other things – a dinner party, a house-warming….all things I’m not looking forward to which isn’t like me (I think the dreadful weather is sort of sucking the fun out of stuff like this….I just want to stay home or at least be in warm, comfy clothes).
Haul: Tom Ford Soleil d’Ambre Eye and Cheek Palette (though DHL hauled my time before this finally got into my hands). The palette is gorgeous! Also picked up a Chanel waterproof liquid brow liner, likely my last purchase before my local counter closes.
Weekend Plans: Watching Olympics, finalizing paperwork, and going out for dinner Saturday night.
What I’m Looking Forward to in Feb: I love the Winter Olympics and watch as many events as I can. Will watch latter part of the Games in Canada with family and friends. (My maple leaf mitts await!)
Haul: a backup of Essence Make Me Brow Gel in Soft Browny Brows 03, Essence Eyebrow Designer Pencil in Soft Blond 05, and freebie deluxe sample of Laura Geller Baked Highlighter in French Vanilla (so pretty!)
Weekend plans: Olympics, Sims Freeplay, and Chinese food
What are you looking forward to in February?: Seeing my local AHL team play next weekend
Haul: I ordered the Sandbar bronzer from Devinah Cosmetics. I’ve never ordered anything from them before but the tone and depth of this bronzer intrigued me, and it was on sale.
Weekend Plans: Sleeeep!
What are you looking forward to in February? In two weeks, I’m going to see John Mulaney at Radio City with my friend as a joint birthday gift for the two of us (she’s late January, I’m late February), so I’m super excited for that!
Haul: My skin is changing due to the acne treatment that I’m doing so I need new skincare products for normal/dry skin so I bought the Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturizer, Simple Kind To Skin Moisturising Facial Wash, The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil, The Ordinary High-Spreadability Fluid Primer, The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution, The Ordinary 100% Cold-Pressed Virgin Marula Oil, The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA and Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm because my lips are suuuper dry. I already have the Simple products because I bought them in a local store, the others should arrive this week.
Makeup wise I only bought two necessary things, because I’m trying so hard not to spend more money on makeup but it’s been difficult. I bought another tube of the Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara, but I bought it again in the mini size because I was going to buy a set that was super cheap with the full size + other two products but it went out of stock so I decided to go for the mini size again, and I also bought the Lancôme Grandiose Extreme Mascara Set that comes with a full size GE mascara, a mini makeup remover and a mini eye pencil for only 27€! I go through mascara so quickly so I always need to have some. Can’t wait to try the GE!
Weekend plans: Where I live we celebrate Carnival for 5 days, so I’m having fun!
What are you looking forward to in February?: I don’t know, maybe to see progress on how my skin looks, and hoping my life gets better this month!
