Holiday Gift Guide: Brazil Edition

When I think of New Year’s Eve parties, I think of bright lights with gold and glitter–what do you think of?  I thought I’d make some gorgeous suggestions from Brazil to give you a sparkling, shimmering manicure for the New Year.

From Ludurana Enamels, I love their poly- and duo-chromatic shades.  Ludurana Aurora Boreal Emocianante (R $ 14.80) is a multi-chrome of burgundy, purple, and copper, while Ludurana Aurora Boreal Fascinante (R $ 14.80) is a multi-chrome that features olive green, metallic copper, and molten red.  Ludurana High Definition Perolado is a shimmery gold (R$ 3, 20).

Hits Enamels, which launches new collections often, has two spectacular glazes for New Year’s Eve parties! Speciallita HITS #11 (R$3,20) a gold with a hint of pink, and HITS Mari Moon Cool (R$ 8.50), a multi-chrome of chartreuse, navy, and green.  Impala Enamels has Chrome (R$ 2,90), an old, antique gold, that I love. If you prefer a glitter with a golden glow and a 3D effect, try Fina Flor Sol (R$7,00).

Finally, to top that all off, consider Big Universo Fáculas Solares Raio Alfa (R$10,00) is a flaky top coat.  For swatches, I first applied a layer of black, and then I used a layer of the top coat to give it that sparkle!

These are my favorite enamels with that sparkle for the holidays–the beauty all depends on the angle, and they can highlight other colors as well!  Which was your favorite?

Fáculas Solares Raio Alfa looks like the Nubar2010, right? In Germany we had a dupe drugstore topcoat as limited edition, so no need to buy the expensive Nubar one 😉

Yey, it is so exciting to see brazilian products in Temptalia! I hope to see some brazilian make up as well! From these brands, the one I like most is Impala. Very good quality nail laquers in a great variety of colors! =)

The nail polish from Brazil are really good and come in small containers! It’s really nice because give you the chance to use all up, and is cheaper then big bottles.
The brands i really like is Impala, Anna Hickman, and some from Colorama are really good also, if you are beginner in brazilian brands you should try Gabriela from Colorama that is a rich red beautiful, Paris (Colorama) very subtle white, or a SPFW 3D na mira from Impala this one is awesome because is a glittery nail polish and you don’t have the sandy feeling when you touch your nails.
Feliz Natal for all temptalia readers or Merry Christmas!

Eeeep! I fell in love with Hits nailpolish and Vyvedas skincare stuff when I briefly went to live in Brazil last year! Seeing it again gives me nostalgia 🙂

Is there anywhere in the United States I can buy Brazilian makeup? Because I think you need a CEP to buy from Brazilian online store….

Those are gorgeous! And I’m kicking myself – I’ve never managed to swing by a cosmetics display when I’ve traveled to other countries. I’m going to put that on my wishlist of things to do if I get to visit Peru this coming summer!

The Ludurana colors are fabulous, as is the Faculas top coat. Damaris, is the formula Formaldehyde, Toluene and DBP free? Also, do any of the Indian readers know if these would be avaliable in India (that is where I am right now)?

Dâmaris Avatar

Yes, FKS… Ludurana is the formula formaldehyde, toluene and DBP free (see your site with this information http://www.ludurana.com.br/ )

I know that Hits brand sells to other countries. I sent an email to Ludurana Big Universe and asking about the sale to other countries…see you see after the response, ok?

thank you.

Hello Damaris, nice to meet you! Im so happy to see a Brazilian writing for temptalia! Im sooo proud of you.
I think you pick the right ones. Amazing colors and brands. When i came to Malaysia i bring loooads of Ludurana, Hits, Risque and Impala nail polishes with me. In here have many brands, but nothing like in our green and yellow land 😉 The prices of our Brazilian nail polishes are a lot chip comparing to another countries, they are smaller also, but i think is good, so u have opportunity to use them all without going bad. A huuge chart of colors… But they mach with our spirit….free. We brazilian girls we are not afraid in use strong and beautiful colors… If u don’t had try yet a brazilian nail polish…. u don’t now what u are missing. 😉 Big hugs, Lucy

MAN, these are super awesome! I kinda wish the US nail polish market was as daring/varied.
But a quick question – are these Three Free? I adore the finishes, but I’m stubborn when it comes to the ingredients in my cosmetics, heh.

(If I find the answer to that question, I’ll post it here!)
