Guerlain Spring 2012: The Pinks and the Blacks Collection

Guerlain Spring 2012: The Pinks and the Blacks Collection

Guerlain tells the story of spring by pairing bursts of pink along side the intensity of black. Sophisticated and elegant, this color collection defines femininity while also revealing one’s inner seductress.

Meteorites Cruel Gardenia ($67.00) (Limited Edi8tion)

Packaged within the legendary rosette of the Météorites Perles, a stunning pink flower is found. Named after one of the Exclusive Fragrances from the House of Guerlain, Météorites Cruel Gardenia will light up the skin with a subtly iridescent veil. Create a radiant complexion by applying all over the face or in a specific area such as the cheekbones to structure the face.

Rouge G ($48.00) (Limited Edition)

As an ode to the color pink, four new glamorous shades have been created this spring in its honor. With a dash of ruby powder, hyaluronic acid to smooth and plump, a hint of filling Gugul resin, plumping Tiger Grass, and wild mango butter for perfect hydration, your lips will be left radiant and as soft as a flower petal.

Oooooo, the 6 couleur eyeshadow palette is CALLING ME! The glosses and lipsticks are gorgeous too. I’ve never spent that much on palette, but I think this looks so worth it.

Ohhh my lorrrd…I work for herbal/supplement companies, and guggul (pronounced just like “google”) is traditionally used for maintaining/achieving healthy cholesterol levels…this is cracking me up 🙂

The meteorites palette looks like a total ripoff of Laura Mercier’s rose rendezvous illuminator…just sayin’. 😀 But I’ll probably pick it up none the less.

I vaguely remember an article about just that likeness! If I remember right, the research indicated that Guerlain were the first to produce the design, that Laura Mercier were the first to start selling the design, and that the official word from Guerlain is that there’s no hard feelings between the companies, nor any cries of infringement.

Love the look of the Meteorites Cruel Gardenia but I think I’ll stick with my MAC By Candlelight. One of the lipsticks looks really appealing but I have issues with the prices and the fact that they’re not refillable.

I miraculously managed to grab 3 items from this collection on eBay, including the Cruel Gardenia highlighter which I love so much! ♥ Can’t wait to get the rest of the collection, as usual I want everything!

As a French woman I love fragrances from Guerlain with the typical ” Guerlinade “, they’re really great ! Make-up from Guerlain is less attractive ( I prefer Chanel, Nars or M.A.C generally speaking ), and spring collection 2012 is not so fine. Dior or Lancôme are much more promising in fact.

That highlighter is to die for. I’ll have to see about the shadows and the lipsticks. Part of me thinks that I have no need for another pink lipstick, but Guerlain has a way of convincing me to buy things I don’t think I need…

Everything is amazing! Guerlain has such a touch for detailing, their products leave me breathless every time. Too bad these will be too expesive and out of budget for me – but still, I’ll enjoy having a look at the swatches.

wow, that Gardenia powder looks super similar to Laura Mercier’s Rose Rendesvous powder- even the flower impressions looks almost identical- of course, Laura’s compact has multiple flowers, but still! If I had to guess by looking, it looks like this one is a bit fairer, but I’ll be curious to compare- so odd that they look so similar!

Rouge Gs are pretty opaque, right? I’ve been looking for a pink like the first picture (guessing that’s innocente ) for years, but not one id have to layer for it to mute my naturally pigmented lips. Can’t wait to see swatches on it. Out of my price range, really, but if it does what I want, id be willing to scrape and save for it!

I recommend either rouge G or meteorite. There are no dupes out there for them and They. Are. Gorgeous.

I own my Garconne at full price and I adore it!
