Yeah, right. Annoying and confusing. Tune out if you’re not up for a pedantic answer. Think of the 64 color crayon box. Red Orange is more prominently orange, and Orange Red is more red. The ‘tradition’ of this kind of name is like the ‘last name’ being key. So fawn nude is more nude, and nude fawn is more fawn. (We can leave out that people have different mental images of ‘fawn.’) Isn’t that what she calls her new (infinitely boring) quad? I call it brown. I’d bet if you put up a bunch of Pantone chips with blank check boxes, and said Check Fawn, You’d get at least ten different answers. So, esp in KVD speak, the difference exists, but the semantics are not really indicative. Fawn just has such a sweet baby deer, with youthful doe eyes connotation. Remember that people get paid (big bucks, daddy deer pun intended) to find the shade name with just the right connotation! Makes me feel pretty Barnumed.

This naming convention is just the way we do it in English — adjective first, noun second. We don’t say blue light, we say light blue (a blue which is light). So Fawn Nude would be a nude that has a fawn tone to it. This type of reversed name for two products in the same line makes more sense for something like Blue Grey and Grey Blue. KVD’s reversal is dependent on knowing what “Nude” means, which is another discussion entirely.

Oh Darn, they discontinued Chula? I wonder if Hawkwind is supposed to replace it. I thought she would maybe rename Underage Red, but I guess she’s sticking with her justification despite the backlash against it. I like the look of these, and hope they perform well on the lips!

Anxious to see your review as I really like a lot of these colors but… I watched Jkissa’s swatch video and watching her apply these was painful. They all looked patchy and required her to really build them up and the formula looked very very stiff.

I watched JKissa swatch these and some of them that were notoriously dry/patchy before seem like they still are in this new formulation lol. I’m sad to see Gothica is going away! I’m tempted to try and get a backup, but it’s honestly not the best formula, either. I bought it for the name and beautiful color, but it fades off my lips pretty fast.
