Haul: nothing this week.

Weekend Plans: Do any errand that can be done before the temp plummets. Expecting coldest Christmas Eve/Day in 21 years.

Feel Good Movie: Not a big movie fan, and not exactly ‘feel good’ but my 2 fave movies are Philadelphia and Dead Poets Society. If Sleepless in Seattle was on, I’d watch it.

Happy holidays, everyone!

Joyce Avatar

Haul: Welp after 4 years I’m finally trying out the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette!

Weekend plans: Driving up to PA for Christmas with my husband’s family 🙂

What’s your favorite feel-good movie?: Fast & Furious movies ?

Alice Avatar

Haul: MELT Lewd lipstick, Rubbish eye shadow, and Roselense eye liner.

Weekend plans: My brother-in-law is here. We have reservations at a nice steakhouse tonight, tomorrow we might go to a movie, and Sunday we’re doing presents and a fancy Christmas Eve dinner since he leaves on Christmas day.

Favorite feel-good movie: Ice Age or Remember the Titans.

Thrilled to see that your fragrance blog pops up as a choice, when I google your IG. Hard to write about something that can be so different on everyone, and can be so subjective. You def have a knack for scent blogging….not overly jargony, which can read like showing off, yet highly evocative…almost synesthetic. Super work.

Michele @Binxcat4ever Avatar

Oh thank you! I try to be objective, even on notes that aren’t my personal favs bc I know other people like them. So I try to describe so the reader can get a sense of what to expect. I also try to keep the posts short enough that a person can read it quickly. For me personally, I know I don’t have time to read lengthy blog posts or even watch long YouTube vids (even if I want to). I appreciate the feedback! Btw, both blogs are fully searchable with the frag one being searchable by brand, frag name, category of frag, and also notes.

Is that a WALL-E dog treat toy or did you hide the treats in a human toy? I want—no, NEED—one for my dog!

Haul: Nothing for me (shocking!), but I bought a Kiehl’s gift set for a family member.

Weekend plans: Christmas mass on Sunday night, where they have a full band playing gorgeous music. Last minute preps for Christmas Day get-together with family.

What’s your favorite feel-good movie: Oh, there are so many I don’t even know where to start! I suppose I’ll go back to my childhood and say “Mary Poppins” and “The Parent Trap” (Hayley Mills version). Also, not a movie from my childhood, but definitely a feel-good favorite: “Defending Your Life.”

Seraphine Avatar

How totally cool! Now I want to go to a toy store to find stuff for my pup.

Are you familiar with the Nina Ottosson dog puzzles? We have several of them and our dog absolutely loves them. They’re pricey, but very well-made and a whole lot of interactive doggy fun!

Haul: The Chocolate Gold Bar Palette. Had to try it for myself. And I got two free lipsticks from back to Mac. 1) D is for Danger-so pretty and a good update to the reds that I needed to replace and 2)Chili-super excited to try this out with a neutral eye look
Weekend Plans: Relax with the boyfriend before our big Christmas road trip
Holiday Movie: The Holiday. Hands down. I watch it every time it comes on.

Elle Avatar

It is really pretty, Seraphine! With the exception of that random fuchsia pink color, I can see myself using it often. The texture of the shimmers are sort of foiled, but not too glittery. And yes, D for danger is so lovely. I like pinky reds but it is a bit deeper, so it works well for me. Chili is a stunner, I am sure that you rocked it well 🙂

Haul: The new Maybelline Super Stay foundation in 110 and NYX Metallic Matte in Exposed and Acme they were in a pop-up displays. On a low-buy now to get through all these items I bought this year!!!

Weekend plans: Work till Christmas Eve and then I have 4 days off.

What’s your favorite feel-good movie?: That’s a hard for me as I don’t really rewatch movies or TV that often anymore (not enough free time to rewatch things). I think though if I have to name one think it’s Doctor Who & Sherlock Episodes, I’m not sure why they manage to always draw me in and I just feel better after watching them.

HAUL: I ordered a cheap 7 piece brush set off Amazon, the brand is called JAF. Basically a bunch of short paddle shaped brushes (similar to 239) in various sizes, one angled blender and a fat pencil smudger. It says they’re pony hair. They are not super soft and the hairs aren’t cut very precisely, but they are dense so perfectly good for packing on shadow. If I’m using light colors they’re fine to blend, too. I like having a bunch of clean lid brushes around and don’t like to splurge on that type of brush.

WEEKEND: party, party, party

FEEL GOOD MOVIE: Bridget Jones, Joe Wright’s Pride and Prejudice

Michele @Binxcat4ever Avatar

Medusa’s Make-Up (4 for $20): Eye Dust (Ultra Violence, Barbarella, Mary Jane, Red Baron)

Haul: Kylie Jenner eye shadow palettes in Burgundy and Purple x 2 each. One for my daughter and I . I sort of broke my own rule regarding purchasing anything Jenner/Kardashian related but I saw the most beautiful eye look on IG using the purple palette so when I looked at the palette I was intrigued by the smoky purple shades. I have never tried anything from either brand so this will be a first. They haven’t arrived yet. Oh, best part, they were on sale from a seller on Ebay so each was 9.99. I purchased the FAB 10% AHA solution, Burburry Lipstick in Oxblood x 2 and the Elizabeth and James Warm Coffret. I picked up quite a few perfumes for my daughter this year for Christmas and saw this set so added it to most recent Sephora haul. This was the year of the perfume for Chriistmas. She sent me a list of 20 perfumes that she wanted and I think I picked up 8 or so. I also purchased a few deluxe samples with points at Sephora of perfumes she might like but weren’t on her list.

Weekend plans: Cooking all day Saturday as we are celebrating Christmas on Sunday so that my daughter can return to Missoula on Christmas day. She has to work on Tuesday morning at 6 AM. I was hoping she would work the evening shift on Tuesday which would give us an extra day to bake but didn’t work out that way. Saturday will be a long day.
We have gotten about 8 inches of snow overnight and expect another 6-8 inches today. So, I will be spending time removing snow from my roof and keeping the driveway open.

Favorite feel good movie: Frankly, those are the only kind I watch anymore. I don’t enjoy as many different genres as I did when I was younger. There are too many to name them all but a few are, Sherlock BBC version, Pride and Prejudice (BBC and Joe Wright version), Persuasion (or any Jane Austin based movie), Notting Hill, Best Friends Wedding and Mama Mia.

Genevieve Avatar

Wow – A white, snowy Christmas – that is what we miss when having Christmas in the Southern Hemisphere. It’s just not the same atmosphere, weather wise.
Hope you and your family have a beautiful Christmas Deborah and I’ll be wearing your foundation on Christmas Day and thinking about you!

That’s hilarious!!! Mellan looks baffled, but curious. And I could hear one of his humans snickering in the background, too! Just like I do with my cats when something mystifies and freaks them out…ah, the joys of being a fur parent!?

Haul: Received my MAC Jade Jagger Sunset Pearl Lipstick on Wednesday, and wore it 2 days in a row because it just *felt* so wonderfully comfortable and moisturizing! Ordered UD Tampered Vice Lipstick with the free engraving as soon as Tampered came back into stock. It is scheduled to arrive today. Last Friday, I did pick up the Milani eyeshadow primer per the recommendation of a fellow Discord reader, and I love it! Wore a few shades from UD Heavy Metal yesterday over it, and Holy Moly! What an enormous difference in application and shine, plus it smoothed out my lids, too. Most of my haulage of late has been footwear, as many favorites have seen their demise due to many years of wear. So; a pair of brand new men’s K-Swiss cushiony sneakers and a pair of taupey-lt.brown high boots.

Weekend plans: My usual routine. I’ve been truly awful about finishing up my mani’s with polish lately, except last weekend because I knew I’d be going to see The Last Jedi with my son, and didn’t want to look undone! Other than the usual, just straightening up my place.

Feel good movie: Rom-coms and animated movies ala Pixar/ Disney! For all my love of sci-fi, adventure and historical drama movies, when I want to be uplifted, I go for MUCH lighter fare.

Alix Avatar

Haul: nothing this week, but eyeing a few things…
Weekend plans: Getting some last-minute stocking stuffers, lunch out tomorrow.
What’s your favorite feel-good movie?: Sense & Sensibility (pretty much my favorite-ever movie)

Merry Christmas, Christine!

Haul: Tarteist metallic shadow in Dark Seas, a navy blue, DS of the Lash Paint mascara, samples of Shape Tape, and a set of skin care minis—Deep Dive Cleansing Gel, Marine Boosting 4-in-1 mist, Drink of H2O Hydrsting Boost, and Pack Your Bags 911. They got me with a 20% discount plus free gift for my birthday.

Week-end plans: It will be a gridlock alert day in NYC so probably nothing that requires traveling.

Feel Good Movie: Anything from the 30’s and 40’s with musical numbers, preferably starring Fred Astaire or Gene Kelly

Genevieve Avatar

Mellon so loves his toys! How cute is he!

Haul: Chanel’s Tisse D’Autumn has arrived in time for Christmas. Otherwise, it has just been picking up the presents for our grandchildren this week.

Weekend Plans: Getting the house ready for Christmas Day, cleaning off the little fingerprints everywhere and on Sunday preparing most of the food ready for the big day, as we are hosting.
At least this Christmas won’t be in searing heat – last year it was around 40 degrees Celsius and was very exhausting. This year it will be about a respectable 22 deg.
Listening to my husband putting together the Little Tikes Police car for Lachlan – it says on the box ‘easy to assemble’ but judging by the comments/noises coming from the garage, that’s not exactly true!

Favourite Feel Good Movie – I don’t really have one!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Genevieve Avatar

I also have to add for my haul that I was putting together a beauty bag for my daughter in law – lots of skincare items such as cleansers, moisturisers, scrubs, rosehip oil, hand cream, vitamins, shampoo, conditioner, masks, foot cream and scrub etc.
Cosmetics: 2 Clarins Joli Rouge lipsticks in Coral Tulip and Petal Pink
Maybelline Mascara
Guerlain Les Perles eye shadow palette (when Guerlain were good)
Setting powder and peach blush by Clarins.
You need a crane to lift the lovely navy and white striped big bag.!

Deborah S. Avatar

Genevieve,
Your daughter-in-law will be thrilled with the goodies. So many nice things. I don’t know how I would feel about it being summer for Christmas. I lived in Southern California in my teens and early 20’s and we would have the occasional temperature in the 70’s (F) for Christmas and it just didn’t seem like Christmas to me. I spent this morning blowing snow off the drive and taking it off the roof just to make sure I don’t have a repeat of last years leaking roof fiasco. We are hovering in the teens temperature wise and will be down to single digits by Christmas day. Makes for a good day to stay in, eat, drink and watch TV. I hope you have a wonderful holiday, Genevieve.

Haul: ABH Modern Renaissance from Ulta. It was 20% off and I used my 20% off coupon. I got it for $26! Always wanted a back up of this palette.

Also found some Cargo liners and ABH single eyeshadows at Marshalls. Liking the Cargo liners so far

Weekend plans: Christmas wrapping. Making something to bring to my brother’s on Christmas

Feel good movie: a musical like Moulin Rouge or the Wedding Singer

ShariP Avatar

Haul: My local drugstore had the original WnW Comfort Zone palette so because everyone here liked it so well, I bought it. I also got two of their new highlighters and they actually had three of the Gold Bar highlighters so I grabbed it too. From Sephora I got two Z palettes, one is a dome and the other is double sided. I’ve never used a double sided one so I hope it works out. I needed something to put all of my MUFE shadows that I just bought into. I found a Revlon highlighter palette at Wal-Mart. There are four highlighters in each palette, one is more traditional with ivory to gold colors and the other is more like the KVD shimmer palette with white with blue and green shifts. I got the more traditional one.

Then following a visit with my mom’s doctor where I got the news that mom is in heart and kidney failure on top of advanced dementia…and she’s seeing and conversing with dead family members…I stopped at Ulta for my form of therapy which I realize is shallow, but I can forget the hard stuff when I’m in Sephora and Ulta. Other than a z palette and a Make Up Revolution highlighter I couldn’t tell you what I bought.

Plans: I’m on VACATION from today until January 2nd. Final baking for Christmas. Everyone gave me their list of what they want and I’m done with all but three. I still need to complete my ugly sweater. Hubby’s is done. We’re getting together with my sister-in-law and brother-in-law Christmas eve. Christmas day brunch is with my whole family. We’ll also have ex-boyfriends and friends of my nieces who always join us. You never really know who will be there or how many. We hate to know someone who is spending Christmas alone. After brunch which is an hour and a half drive from home, we’ll come back home to my sister-in-laws for Christmas with my husbands side of our family. My sister-in-law is more like my sister and we’ve been planning since last year.

Favorite feel good movie: I like movies that make me laugh so my favorite is McClintock with John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara. I also like Some Like It Hot with Tony Curtiss, Marilyn Monroe, and Jack Lemmon. Or any of the new cartoon/animated children’s shows such as Ice Age. Love hat squirrel.

AJ Avatar

Haul: Nothing yet, but my boss surprised me with a little bonus check so I may order some of those new Sephora lipsticks.

Weekend plans: One of our corgis is SUPER sick so sadly our weekend has been hijacked by force feeding/force medicating her and hoping we don’t have to go to the ER for IV drugs. Cross your fingers! In between that, definitely some reading and Netflix and video games to try to relax.

Favorite feel good movie: Princess Bride!

First time commenting, yay!

Haul: NARS’s Bord de Plage bronzing/highlighter palette, NYX ombré blush and faux white eyeliner

Weekend Plans: Meeting old friends for a secret santa, baking my grandma’s apple pie recipe for christmas eve and enjoying my family’s company!

Feel Good Movie: Pride and Prejudice. Just melts my heart every single time

MacKenzie G. Avatar

Haul: I’ve managed to stick to my low/no-buy after the Melt sale, which I had planned on buying from anyway. I got their new nudes lip liner set, a lip liner in Nudist, and lipsticks in Mum, Old Rose, and On-the-Go.
Weekend plans: decorate the tree tomorrow, we just got one today so no one can accuse us being one of those people who have the tree up in the middle of November LOL! My family isn’t the type to have parties or make a big deal out of Christmas now that the aunts and uncles are scattered around the country and us cousins are pretty much all grown up (minus the 11-year-old). I may or may not end up spending the day with my ex on either Christmas Eve or the day after, but that’ll hopefully be the last I see of him. Other than that, it’ll mostly be relaxing and last minute Christmas prep.
Favorite feel-good movie: Mulan, 2005 Pride and Prejudice, Princess Pride, early Harry Potter movies, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, most musicals.

Haul: I got some Livonex Dental Gel and a Grapefruit Sugar Scrub from TJ’s. Not very beauty related but it’s all I got lol.

Weekend Plans: I was sick as a dog on Friday. Today I managed to get the shopping done. Christmas eve will be relaxed as will Christmas day. Splurged on some King Crab though.

Feel Good Movie: Waking Ned Devine! Kinky Boots is a good one too. Princess Bride and Sleepless in Seattle are good too.
