Oldest beauty product you own? My UD pencils in Lust and Electric! They’re from my first Sephora purchase ever, back in 2007. When I got my first paycheck ever from my first part-time job, Sephora was the first place I went.
I was 12 when I first started to use makeup, I was 22 when I fell in love with makeup and I have a blush that’s 8 years old that should probably throw away!
Age you first used makeup? however old i was in fifth grade.
Age you fell in love with makeup? well, i liked it all my life. but it wasn’t until i really learned how to do it (about two years again bc of youtube) that i really learned to love it. now it’s a passion that nobody else except for the online beauty community seems to ‘get’ lol.
Oldest beauty product you own? My old (when they first came out) Lime Crime shadows…haven’t tossed em because I spent too much on them, but I really don’t use them.

I would probably say when I was about twelve, but I only dusted on like a light purple shadow and wore lip gloss. I fell in love with makeup probably around grade 7 when my grandmother bought me a bunch of green things ( it was my favorite colour) and in it was a single of I believe MAC humid. I fell in love from that day on, on my birthday I was given stars n rockets as well as little vi lipglass, I guess I fell in love with MAC more than anything. I turn 19 in two weeks and I already work in cosmetics because I fell in love so young. My oldest would have to be a purple liner from MAC , the colour name has rubbed off

That’s a tough one as I like to rotate all my cream/luquid product within 2 years time. Also I’ve change my eyeshadow collection completely as well with new brands.
I would say my brushes are the oldest thing now and most of my old one I’ve given to a new home as I started with natural hair ones. Silk Naturals Ultimate Eye Shadow Brush IS my oldest Makeup item now and I’ve serious always kept it with me for travel and use the doe foot with my eye looks.
AGE: Right! 10 when I got this eyeshadows palette but never used but high school is when I started to us a bit of make.
Age you fell in love with makeup: 23… I really hate foundation as nothing matched so discovering mineral makeup companies made a HUGE difference in how I could use makeup for the face and highlight/contour/blush. I already have rose/red checks why would I want blush otherwise. lol
First officially used makeup on my 13th birthday. Before that I used my cousins’ makeup. I’ ve always loved makeup! I recycle my makeup products, so I don’t have any that are too old. If I did, they might be all dried up!

1. 12 years old. I was excited that my mom finally let me wear this dark purple Cover Girl eyeshadow to the casual dances my middle school would have every few weeks…Just a nice wash of some cheap dark purple shadow applied messily all over my lids. Without a primer. How adorable… lol

I wore makeup and LOVED IT throughout high school, but then stopped wearing makeup in college (no one at my school did), and didn’t wear any for several years thereafter. I’ve been back into makeup for about a year now, I’m 27.
I’m pretty sure I still have one or two items from high school – so about 10 years old – but I don’t use them anymore.
Age you first used makeup? I had some of those bonnebell scented lipglosses when I was in middle school, but I didn’t really use them. I actually started wearing make up when I was about 19.

I think I have a couple really old Bare Escentuals shadows from way before they had the sifter and it was just powder in a jar. OH Benefit Georgia too! Obviously I keep way too much and I should probably go through my collection and take these things out and store them or throw them away….

I’d like to share this. I liked to dye my hair from age 16 onwards and once I’d graduated high school I wore platinum, hot pink, even green, all sorts of colors. For special occasions I’d throw on lip gloss and powder.
One day when I was maybe 25 I was lamenting to a male friend how I got so little male attention. He suggested I wear makeup and more flattering clothes (not just unisex tshirts). It hadn’t felt important to wear makeup until he pointed out it was holding me back. This was in Los Angeles and he’s the one guy you can count on to always be dating the most glamorous woman you’ve ever seen. But still. My brother’s girlfriend (younger than me) wore makeup every day and I thought it was weird, like they were hiding something (nothing to hide, she was pretty with good skin).
What ended up happening is I did start to wear more flattering clothes (being plus sized might be a downer but it doesn’t mean nice clothes don’t exist) and I tried to fit in more with my beauty looks. I grew my hair longer, changed it to black so it’s semi-natural looking, and once I was single again (after dating some duds lol!) started to experiment with foundation and eye shadow and … this is key… photographing the results. That made a big difference with picking a foundation color, perfecting the application (powder can go on pretty flaky!), and watching for when it starts to go crappy (this is before eyeshadow primer was a well known Thing).
Well anyway now it’s years later: I’m 31, I’m married, and I work at an auto shop. Nowdays I do always have “the basics” in my stash and if I could do it faster maybe I’d wear makeup more often. But I still am not that every day makeup girl. If I am going out to a nice dinner I will do a full face. If I want to look extra put together such as for inlaws I’ll do a basic face (no blush, no lipstick but some degree of everything else).
After griping to my husband about Kate Middleton’s eyeliner skills when in line at the grocery store, him saying it looked fine (I think it’s too heavy), I have started to wear pencil eyeliner (only!) more often. How does that work?!
I think my eyes are sensitive to mascara so avoiding that but doing an otherwise full face is one method of dealing.
I know most of the commenters wear a full face everyday as kind of a hobby. I know some high powered women and none of them have a full face routine. I guess I’m still trying to stake my position on the feminism (belief than men and women have the same VALUE) -beauty spectrum. I want to be taken seriously, but not look like I’m desperate for validation. I want to look nice but not like a cheaply spackled college freshman. And I want you to ignore my blemishes and dry skin!
So it’s like this.
Seeing as I’m a woman, I will be seen as more modern and trustworthy by the men and women I do business with if I look appropriately dressed and put together…. which here/now means enough makeup to “smooth out” (can’t look haggard!) but not enough to attract attention to itself (Can’t look ostentatious!). It’s a fine bloody line!!

Oldest beauty product you own? I’m not sure, I have a such a huge collection. I have it stashed in multiple bins. Probably if I have to guess a tube of the original Crystal Baby by Estee Lauder or an old tube of Black Honey Clinique.

I was very young, probably about 4 or 5-years-old. I used to watch my mom and aunts get ready every morning, and I remember thinking that they looked so beautiful. I would always ask them to put makeup on me, but they would always tell me I was too little =o)

I’ve held onto this one purple eyeliner for about 4 years now. I don’t even know what brand it is anymore because the label has rubbed off.

Oldest beauty product I own? I think I’ll win the prize here: A blackened teal/blue eyeshadow from the original, legendary Biba store in London. Bibae defined the 1960s mod look and its signature clothing and makeup colors – murky blues, purples, blacks – are equally current today. http://www.bibacollection.co.uk/history.htm My Biba eggplant lipstick died a while back but the eyeshadow has the original logo and, thanks to incredible pigment, still looks barely touched despite my sporadic use.
Now that you reminded me….I own my mother’s powder’s compact that she got in prior to the ’60s before coming to the U.S……still not hit the pan…BOAC was the name on the compact with a tiny little pin hole that allows for refills.

Oldest product is a discontinued blush from MAC that is so old the label wore off but I use it very rarely because I love it and It doesn’t have much use left in it! 🙁 I think it is about 10 years old… I know makeup expires but I can’t part ways with it

23. I was strongly against using makeup before that because I had no problems with my skin and thought makeup was a way of cheating other people’s view of you. But then recently I had bad acne and had to learn to cover it up and I fell in deep.

A Maybelline Watershine Lipstick from 2009 (it’s now mixed in with a lip balm for better texture)

I fell in love with makeup with my first chanel purchase!
I got some money as a birthday gift and went to chanel counter
I remember getting a brown inimetible mascara (i wasnt allowed for something abvious, yet)
,a violet waterproof liner and a clear glossmer with pink sparkles.
One week after that i got chanel rouge allure lipstick, it was Pink Saphire. A gorgeous my lips but better pinkish rose shade.
The oldest products i own would be.. The violet liner, the glossemer and the lipstick from chanel mentioned above
They still do work really well, except for the gloss which i only keep it as a memory

Oldest beauty product is MAC Refined Deeper Bronze bronzer, ive had it since freshman year in high school and I’m in college now. Sadly MAC does not even make it anymore and I’ve yet to find a proper dupe in MAC’s range.
