Last fragrance worn? Tom Ford Black Orchid!
Last face mask used? Pūrlisse Blue Lotus Seed Mud Mask & Exfoliant. Got it in January’s Ipsy Bag, and honestly not impressed with it.
Last primer worn? Used Nyx Angel Veil Primer yesterday. I love it…. usually. But not with a cold coming on. It didn’t keep my foundation on my nose after I had to, um, blow it. ?? So, today, we’ll be seeing if the old standby (Monastat Chaffing Relief Powder Gel) does better since I have an appointment later.

Last fragrance worn? Bulgari au the Rouge (red tea). My winter go-to fragrance
Last face mask used? A combination of Origins Clear Improvement mask for oilier areas (highly recommend) and Fresh black tea (meh; too expensive for undiscernible effect)
Last primer worn? Laura Mercier foundation primer in “protect” (has SPF; not that I rely on this — I also use sunscreen). I really like LM foundation primers.

Today I used a sample of My Burberry Blush that I got in my November Sephora Play! bag. It’s all right, but fades quickly

Glamglow Supermud, last night. I usually prefer sheet masks or overnight masks, but sometimes it’s good to get the gunk out!
Last primer worn?
A sample of Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer that I tried three times last week. I’m not sure face primer is really for me – I like to press my foundation into my skin so that it looks as natural as possible, not pile it on top of another layer of product. I also find primers give me the dreaded polka-dot pores, even the ones that allege to be pore-filling

Last primer worn? Hourglass mineral veil. I get why folks like it.. it’s good for perfecting the canvas, but I hate how it feels. I was a doofus and bought full size. I prefer houglass serum version. Primers are a product I love/hate. At this point I try to buy travel size with points because buying full size is invariably a waste of my money. I tend not to come close to finishing.
I may have to try that perfume combo – it sounds very intriguing! You should try getting some samples of the By Terry CC Lumi Serum; it doesn’t come in a travel size but it gives you the hydration and perfection of the Hourglass, but with the serum formulation. SpaceNK sent me samples of all the shades when I reached out to them about the bronze version trying to figure out if it would be too much for my pale self. It wasn’t. The only downside for you will be the size, but I use them on no make-up days too for the skincare side of it so maybe that makes it more useful for you?

I agree with you on the primer! For years I’ve wondered why I seem to be the only one who doesn’t like it. It makes my face feel powdery but somehow also a bit rough What about the way it feels didn’t you like?

Last primer: I don’t usually wear face primers. I don’t really see any good results. Last eyeshadow primer I wore was the Lorac Behind the Scenes Eyeshadow Primer. It came with a palette. I find it really generic

Your skin tone/coloring: Fair – I use Lancôme Teint Idole Foundation N100
Last fragrance worn? Givenchy Demoiselle – I got a sample vial from Sephora and loved it so much on me that I used it all pretty quickly. I’ve been pouting that I’m out and not tried anything else the past week, so I may have to actually buy a full size.
Last face mask used? Laneige Water Sleep Mask. It’s not as hydrating as I’d like as I am *very* dry right now. I’ve got half the container left, so I’m going to try cocktailing it by patting on some Boscia Tsubaki Splash Mask first, then finish with the Laneige mask. *fingers crossed*
Last primer worn? Japonesque Velvet Touch Primer – my usual stuff for full face primer – and Smashbox Water Primer, which I do not use as a primer. I use it with a tiny brush originally from a nail art kit for cleaning up edges to fix my early morning liquid eyeliner boo-boos. I agree with Priscilla’s assessment of it as a primer, but laziness kept me from returning it. Luckily, it turns out that it is perfect as an eye makeup correction fluid (for me, of course – YMMV). Who’da thunk it? 🙂
Do you have any face oils? Try mixing that in with the Sleep Mask maybe? I’d still do the Splash Mask first to layer the hydration, but I always seal things in with an oil when I get especially dry with the winter air and forced heat.
I only have a cleansing oil that I use as a pre-cleanse/makeup remover at the moment and hadn’t thought of layering on or mixing in another oil. The splash mask is oil based and seems to have helped a bit, but adding another one is probably worth a try at this point. Thank you! 🙂

I tried a sample of the Laura Mercier primer yesterday and ended up with tiny bumps on my face. I’m back to my HG VEIL.
Love Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt (and most everything else) and the Fresh Black Tea line. I can’t wait for their release of the Black Tea Kombucha Essence!

Last primer worn? Tarte BB primer with sunscreen. It’s pretty thick so a little goes a long way. The sunscreen doesn’t do s**t for the amount I put on my face though.

Last fragrance worn? Jo Malone Myrrh and Tonka Intense
Last face mask used? Cle de Peau Translucency Mask – wearing it now actually! It’s a hydrating mask that is a peel off. No idea how a peel off mask is hydrating but it is and it’s helping so much with my dry areas with the cold and forced air torturing my poor face.
Last primer worn? By Terry Cellularose CC Lumi-Serum – I have it in 3 shades and it’s amazing for hydrating, smoothing, giving a glow, wash your dishes and fold your laundry kind of goodness. It’s one of those is it skin care or is it makeup deals. I love the bronze (Sunny Flash) in the summer under foundation or on it’s own for a boost of color – it works for fair skin! The pink (Rose Elixir) and white/pearl (Immaculate Light) I switch back and forth with depending on my skin. I totally don’t need both the pink and the pearl, but I had order issues and ended up with both in the end.
With the By Terry, do you find that they emphasize pores? I love the idea of a glowy, hydrating type product but I’m texture-wary.
No, quite the opposite with this one since it works as being skincare, primer and luminizer in one I find it blurs the pores and doesn’t add or highlight texture. The luminessence is more of a crushed pearl effect instead of the glitter or shimmer that can catch on textured skin and call attention to it. Hope this helps!
