Kat Von D Metal Crush Extreme Highlighter Palette for Holiday 2017
Kat Von D Metal Crush Extreme Highlighter Palette
The Details
Inspired by Kat Von D’s bestselling Metal Crush Eyeshadow shade, Thunderstruck, Metal Crush Extreme Highlighter Palette is loaded with hyper-reflective micro-crystals that sparkle and shift with every movement. Experience three electrifying shades: Gammaray, a prismatic peach with pink and gold crystals, Helix, an ethereal opal with gold and silver crystals, and Roseshock, a pearlescent pink with lavender and pink crystals.
Rock any of the multidimensional shades on their own, or blend and layer them together for an ultra-reflective metallic finish. This unique formula features liquid-powder technology, so it applies smooth and creamy, and blends out seamlessly to deliver a highlight you can see from space.
Early access for VIB/Rouge 11/21, 11/23 full launch

This is underwhelming, both because these shades have been done to death (really at this point most highlighter shades have been done to death) and because she teased us with a Metal Crush palette and then yanked the rug out from under us by not giving us a Metal Crush eyeshadow palette. Why oh why is there no Metal Crush eyeshadow palette?
Also, she’s just overdoing it at this point with the limited edition palettes.
I agree with every single one of these points. I have so many highlighters that I will never use up and I feel like there’s only so much that can be done within the limitations of what actually looks good as a highlighter, so there’s basically no way a new highlighter could impress me enough to buy it when I already have my “holy grail” (MUG Glizty) and a few others I reach for when I want a different look.
I agree completely with Beth. I was so excited to see what she was doing when the release was just shown as the packaging. What a disappointment. This is an easy pass for me.
I most certainly agree with all 3 of you! This palette is a huge letdown. Like all of you, I expected a Metal Crush eyeshadow palette and not a highlighter palette.
It actually was known that this was going to be a highlighter palette (and last year’s metal matte WAS half crushed metal eyeahadows) so that didn’t upset me, but there isn’t anything exciting here either- and worse, I don’t see these shades as universally flattering. I love highlighter, but this won’t end my no-buy.
Wow. And not in a good way.
Flaws, as I see them:
1.) Crystals
denote glittery cheeks to me. Um no thanks.
2.) Highlighter palette overload anyone?!?
3.) Like so many others, both here as well as other beauty sites, I really expected an eyeshadow palette.
Boo!!! Hiss!!!!
(My comment got broken up, could you please edit and add this to the first part of my comment instead of as a “reply”? Thank you!)
A big yawn. I’m so over highlighter palettes at this point. It seems like everything has been done already. It would have been fun to see a Metal Crush eyeshadow palette, though.
Inspired by Thunderstruck but not including. When it is still so often out of stock online.
My gently used one just arrived today, thankfully.
Ooohhhh can’t wait to see swatches of this one!
I am interested in seeing the reviews even though I use very little highlighters. I do like a ‘glow’ on the apple of my cheeks – just a bit.
Besides feeling like so many others that we’ve had our fill of highlighters and highlighter palettes, “crystals” on the cheeks do not sound like a good idea.
Another slightly disappointed commenter who was hoping for a Metal Crush eyeshadow palette.
This looks way too similar to the Lime Crime Hi-Lite Opals palette that I bought very recently, so it’s a no for me.
