My Personal Shopping List

Here’s what I ended up getting last week! 🙂 I’m not sure if there’s anything I’ll be picking up over the next few days unless something new launches, but we shall see. I am keeping any eye out on any restocks of Pat McGrath LuxeTrance lipsticks, though!

I’ve tried the wrinkle resist Shiseido cleanser, and in my opinion, it’s not nearly as good as the regular Benefiance Extra Creamy formula. I hope you can make the switch. The wrinkle resist is only on your face a few seconds, and IS NOT worth it. Plus, it’s got a different, drier texture. Just my opinion, but I wanted to share it with you.

I just looked up the Shiseido cleansers on Sephora. When I saw you were getting the Benefiance winkle-resist moisturizers, I assumed you were getting something other than the Extra Creamy formula. Anyway, I got a deluxe sample of the White Lucent Brigtening cleanser a few years ago and didn’t like it at all. That’s what I thought (for who knows what reason) you were referring to. I don’t keep up with all their new cleansers since trying the Brightening formula and just stick to my tried and true — Extra Creamy. Sorry for my confusion. And I hope you love the Extra Creamy formula.

Uh oh, could it finally be time for me to get the KVD Saint & Sinner Palette that I’ve been obsessing about for so long? If it’s still available on November 10, I might just go ahead and order it with the 20% VIB code. That would bring the price to less than $50. November 10 seems so far away!!!

Amy Avatar

Get it!! Get it! Get it! I was on the fence about it a while back and broke down and got it and I am SO pleased I did! Every picture I saw of it before I purchased it did NOT do it justice! I reach for it constantly!

Seraphine Avatar

Just ordered KVD Saint & Sinner with the 20% VIB code! I went to Sephora last night to swatch it so I could make a final decision. There were plenty of shades that I’ll definitely use, plus others that I’ll experiment with, so the palette seems well worth $49. If I had to pay the original $62, I probably wouldn’t have bought it. And the tax brought it to just over $50, so free shipping! Plus free samples and a perfume that I bought with my points.

Hi Christine, quick question about one of the items on your shopping list: have you tried the Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 eye cream? any opinion/thoughts?

Thank you again for all your hard work on your posts!!

Swooz Avatar

Karen – I’ve used it. It is a nice, thick cream that feels good to apply and sinks in well without leaving my skin greasy, but it has no wrinkly-fighting ingredients, so what you’re paying for is the temporary plumping effect of the moisturizer. It also has the typical Shiseido scent.

Amy Avatar

I agree with Swooz. I use it when the area around my eyes feels dry, but it doesn’t have “wrinkly-fighting ingredients” (LOVE that description!). I have a full size of it and accumulate samples when they are offered, but I don’t think I would buy it again. There are probably very nice moisturizing eye creams out there that do have the wrinkle blasters in them and I will go for one of those.

LindaP Avatar

Amazing that there is not a thing I want or need! Except for restocking staples like a few MJ gel liners and an EL foundaiton, I don’t think I’m getting anything. First time ever! Not sure if I’m happy or sad about that. 🙂

Christine Avatar

I think you would have to be Rouge VIB to access that link, but you can try this one – it’s the Insider post.

Yes, it works for Canadians, just like past years 🙂 Beauty Insiders’ dates are much later, whereas Rouge started today, that’s why you haven’t gotten an email yet!

Karine Avatar

Thank you for you answer, that link woks. I thought they sent both email at once, that made me wonder.

I had a few things I almost bought from Sephora yesterday I’m so glad I didn’t, I’m gonna wait for the BI dates!

The item I wanted the most, the 4 piece beautyblender set with the little holder, is out of stock this morning. It was there yesterday.
I have shifted the majority of my beauty shopping to Ulta, because their Platinum perks rewards program is so much better. And they have more frequent coupons!
But I still adore Makeup Forever, BITE, and beautyblender.
I won’t make Rouge this year, which is fine. I just stocked up on my Clinique cleansers and serum during the Ulta sale. And I am already half way to another $125 reward.

Emily Avatar

Agree, no question, anything that CAN be bought at Ulta SHOULD be bought at Ulta. And it seems like the list of things you can buy at Ulta is growing exponentially! Love them! But I still found plenty to buy from Sephora this morning.

Nyxx Avatar

I only have two things in my shopping cart. This is a first! I grabbed my MUFE goodies when they had their friends and family which was 25% off and free shipping. I did not make rouge this year and I am very okay with that. I have been shopping at Ulta more and I think I am a having a bit of make up burnout. Evrything is starting to look the same to me.

Already hit the sale and this is my first haul (I went for the things I need or “need” just in case they sold out):

Dr. Jart Ceramidin Starter kit: I’ve been looking for something to like to help when my skin is dry and irritated and tried the Tiger cream (LOVE it). I’ve been eyeballing the liquid so I figured, hey get it!

Too Faced Peach foundation in Snow: I tried this in the Porcelain and liked it, but the shade was too dark. I destashed a pile of foundation a while back and decided to have a small selection of go-tos for the cooler months (wearing foundation where I live in the summer is not a regular for me, so I stick to BB creams and only wearing foundation for special occasions).

Dr Jart Water Drop moisturizer: I am INSANELY in love with the way this feels on my skin. My skin get tends to be normal, but dehydrated and can move into the dry range at times. This stuff literally feels like the lightest moisturizer you have ever put on, but gets down in there and moisturizes!

And, the Fresh Sugar lip serum-I have lips that seem to stay dry and since I started using this everyday after scrubbing and before applying lipstick/gloss, my lips are better long term moisturized. I thought it was a bunch of hullabaloo and a pointless product, but after using it a little while, I noticed a BIG difference. I don’t use lipbalm nearly as much as I used to (still need it here and there, but not feeling like I need to use it as regularly).

Lynn Avatar

Why is this sale not valid for international shipping… such a shame!! I am in the UK and have made myself Rouge VIB already, nothing really worth to do so now! 🙁

Lesley Avatar

I spent an insane amount of money on a pillowcase that will not cause me to wake up with furrows on my face from pillowcase creases along with a bad case of bed head. The extravagance was tempered by the 20%. I don’t need anything now that is exclusive to Sephora and intend to focus Ulta to get to platinum.

jel888 Avatar

Thanks so much for this! It’ll be great to use the codes (via your link) to bless my daughter with a Mothership palette, she’ll be sooo thrilled! Again thanks!

I was so so bad today… 2 PMG eyeliners, the new Fenty luminizer lipgloss, and then ALL of my skincare restocks. Spent a load, but when else do you get these brands on sale? La Mer and Sunday Riley never have discounts anywhere (although the La Mer GWP’s at the dept stores are usually pretty nice). I just keep telling myself it’s more economical to do it all at once this way.

The bad part… now I’m ‘fun shopping’ and have at least 6 new things for another order. This 20% is just too good!

Did the cart the night before. Things removed. It’s ok. Showed some restraint. Dr DG, DE, berdoues…very little m/u. Most excited by the instore purchases (after day job, but before Patti’s appt and night job, just so you know there ARE priorities.) Nars Blanche et Noire and tarte mini plum toned set. I really want to get a pocket tee with those lips from MR made on Etsy. It would commemorate my lips Christmas!

Emily Avatar

I am! Last year, by the time that coupon came, I was just about out of things I wanted to buy! Thankfully one Tom Ford lipstick was enough so I didn’t miss out on that coupon entirely!

M Avatar

I also got that Ole scrub! I actually ended up buying the Blockbuster and Nurture Me kits. Ole Henriksen has been probably my most trusted Western skincare brand for like, 10 years, so I’m really excited to try out some of their newer products as well as get re-ups for my favorites (Truth Serum, Nurture Me moisturizer).

Just as a PSA for anyone else who was looking at the Drunk Elephant Night Bright kit, unless you’re really interested in the Marula oil, Sephora Favorites has a kit that has the SAME size of Framboos plus a ton of other items for only $2 more than the DE set right now. It’s called Beauty Sleep. It’s out of stock, but hopefully gets a restock for this next code opening.

Jane Avatar

I shouldn’t have, but did…I do feel a little better, but I that doesn’t justify it…arghhhh!!! Okay, okay already…I got ABH’s Prism and I just purchased Nars Man Ray’s “Love Game” palette. I’m having a palette rush. I didn’t even have either of these on my radar, but the swatched so well, and I’m finding looks with ABH’s Prism so far, so that helps A LOT! I only have one more I would really like, Zoeva’s Café (don’t know why, I just can’t get it out of y head after letting go ABH’s Subculture. We’ll see. If it doesn’t arrive at my Sephora, maybe I’ll never get it because I really want to see it in person. They received Zoeva’s Opulence, and it swatches nicely, but the colors just aren’t calling me.
