Look: Orange & Brown
Look: Orange & Browns
This was the first look I did to test drive MAC’s new long-wearing eyeshadows.
You will need the following…
- Eyes: NARS Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Primer (primer), MAC One to Watch Eyeshadow (peach-orange), MAC Hot Paprika Eyeshadow (burnt orange), MAC Lie Low Eyeshadow (medium-dark brown), Burberry Trench Eyeshadow (highlighter), Urban Decay Lucky 24/7 Eyeliner (copper), Lancome Doll Eyes Mascara
- Face: MAC Matchmaster Foundation (03), Guerlain Les Violettes Mineral Powder (03), Guerlain Parure de Nuit Pressed Powder & Blush (illuminator)
- Lips: MAC Driven by Love Lipglass (red)
For eyes, start by laying down your eyeshadow primer all over the lid and until the brow. Apply One to Watch eyeshadow on the lower two-thirds of the lid with the 239. In the crease, gently brush Hot Paprika eyeshadow with the 222. Above the crease, apply Lie Low eyeshadow and diffuse upwards.
For face, apply Matchmaster all over face with the 193. Lightly dust on illuminator with the 165 or 188 on cheek bones. Set with Les Violettes with the 134.
For lips, apply Driven by Love onto lips.
You’re so pretty, Christine! I’m really digging the eyeshadows (not too orange to try myself) and the rest of your face is just flawless.
Thanks, Michelle!
Lovely look! I especially love the colour of that eyeliner.
You look beautiful and elegant. 🙂
Thank you, Naomi!
Love orange and brown together:) Beautiful as always Christine!
Thanks, Vanessa!
I love that lip color on you! It makes me think of Dita Von Teese. 🙂
Aw, thanks Chris! 🙂
Just beautiful! I wouldn’t necessarily have thought of the orange combined with red lips, but you’ve convinced me it can work.
Who knew 🙂
Seriously GORGEOUS!
Xo
Thanks, Roxanne! 🙂
This is so beautiful! I love the subtle transition from the orange shadow to the deep rust color on the eyes. It reminds me a lot of a look I created recently inspired from Fall :).
Thank you, Dia!
Very nice; this will work well for a football Sunday type look. Go Browns hehe.
Haha!
Christine, every time that you post a picture of a look I always think “I want her eyebrows!”
And Michelle, heck yes, Go Brownies! 😀
I am -loving- warm oranges recently. I’m using The Balm’s Mischievous Marissa from theBalm pretty much everyday.
Must be fall in the air. You look gorgeous!
Me too! Love fall 🙂
Yay!!One of my favourite combinations!! Thanks again Christine, you look amazing, as always 😉
Thanks, Ana! 🙂
Do you review foundations? If so are you going to review the Matchmaster foundation?
I do, and I probably will, but it’s very dry for my skin, so it’s difficult to test (embarrassing to wear).
You look adorable and your complexion is flawless. I love how you paired those orange eyes with red lips, it’s not an expected choice but it works very well! I enjoy your looks so much. =)
Thank ya, Nathalie! 🙂
Beautiful look and… Girl, your eyes are simply GORGEOUS!
Thanks so much, Lola!
Gorgeous!!! I may have to try this!
Thank you, Jetta!
You look flawless!! love the look
Thank you, Tiffany! 😀
Beautiful!
Thank you, Kaylyn!
Looking awesome! I can’t wait to try this look. Ordered the eyeshadows today from MAC. 😀
Thanks, Emi!
What a beautiful fall look, the colours look like dry leaves.
So sad, that I really look awful with orange and warm browns.
Aww 🙁
This looks gorgeous on you, Christine! I’ve missed these posts from you lately 🙂 will you be doing a review of the Matchmaster foundation?
Most likely – I’m trying to find a way to wear it for the whole day without it being so painfully embarrassing to wear (it’s too dry for my skin type).
What do you think about the MatchMaster foundation? Have you made a review for that yet?
Not yet.
Very pretty! How are you liking the Matchmaster foundation?
It’s too dry for my skin, so it’s been difficult to test.
G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S!!!
Thank you, Valentina!
Gorgeous! It seems that Matchmaster has a lovely finish.
It’s too dry for my skin!
Very pretty! What do you use on your brows? TIA
MAC Espresso eyeshadow + 266 brush
Very nice! The eyes are perfect with red lips. =D <3
I have to ask though, do you have any plans to review the Guerlain Les Voilettes Mineral Powder? I've noticed you use it quite a bit for your look posts, yet I don't think I've seen a review yet.
I might – the problem is I have to take photos of it, and it’s one of those things on the to-do list among another 500 things!
Whoa – that foundation powder combo you have here makes your skin look like porcelain!!!
Thank you, LU!
I don’t know how did you to make you look pretier and pretier, so beautiful!
I’m so in love with this look, such amazing and breathtaking. Eyes are so perfect and not too much to match with red lips.
And your skin! SO glowing! and flawless! You make me wanna check out all those products used if they’re possible to give me such brilliant finish like this!
Thank you for sharing! <3
Aw, thanks a lot, Polly!
That look is so romantic on you! 🙂
Thank you! 🙂
i love the orange eyeshadow-red lip combo…and your skin looks totally flawless!
Thank you, Angie!
Christine I haven’t commented in months and months but I’ve stayed loyal to your wonderful site! 🙂 just wanted to say you look absolutely stunning in these pics and I especially love the soft orange/brown combo. Best of luck with everything!
Aw, thank you, Brittany!! 🙂
This REALLY made your eyes pop. Whoa, mama!
Yay!
Gorgeous look, Christine. I’m loving the oranges and coppers so this is something i’ll definitely try out!
The skin looks flawless btw, would you credit that more to the foundation or the mineral powder? Because whichever it is, i’m sold, haha! Or do you just have awesome skin?
It was a good skin day – Matchmaster is actually too dry on my skin, so it accentuates flaws for me!
Oh, bummer! I have fairly dry skin so that might not be the best investment for me.
And If that’s was flaws looks like accentuated on you, then girl, i’m jealous! Haha.
This look is maybe the best I’ve seen on you, Christine! What do you think about Matchmaster foundation? Your skin is flawless!
It’s not right for my skin type – too dry.
LOVE this look on you! sooo pretty and festive, yet still neutral and wearable. 🙂 red lip works awesome with this.
Thank you, Steffanie!
can I just say that I love that you’re doing looks again. ;D
Thanks, Heather!
Simple & stylish! And wow, your skin/makeup looks amazing!!
Thanks, Roxanne!
This looks is beautiful. love your foundation/powder, lights up your face. What do you use for under-eye protection/care?
Nothing – I find eye creams (and I’ve tried 20-30) seem to burn that area :/
That’s amazing! Cause your under-eye area is so crease-free!
Oh also, I’d love to see your review for Guerlain Les Violettes Mineral Powder (03). It seems to be your secret weapon for flawless finish!
I did a similar look with with Woodwinked and Rule eyeshadows. Do you think that lipcolour would go well with that eye look? 🙂
Thanks!!
I think it would!
Looking forward to your review of the Matchmaker foundation. Looks real nice on you.
I am loving this look on you. I applaud your use of colour on two areas by maintaining two focal points. You have the skill of colour theory to know how to create balance. For my face, I am still trying to venture out. This looks for example I would consider for my face to be a lot a makeup. I know it isn’t, but because the intensity of colour is so high it makes my timid mindset think “heavy makeup” you know??
If I try a few looks and email them to you privately will you tell me if my face structure can pull them off as brilliantly as yours? I purchase tonnes of high end cosmetics in daring colours but I just don’t apply them fabulous ways. I’m ready to step outside my makeup box…. lol
Thanks for your continued inspiration with temptalia
Kristina
I bought all, 3, of these MAC longwearing eyeshadows because of your beautiful photos!!
Quick question — is the UD eyeliner LUCKY? I’d like to add the correct color to my Sephora order. 🙂
Thx!!!
Yep – Lucky is a copper eyeliner!
THANK YOU! 🙂
Hi! I just loved this look! But tell me one thing…where did you use Burberry Trench Eyeshadow?..
On the brow bone.
