I tried L’Oreal’s Bare Minerale powder foundation, and it was one of my worst beauty-related mistakes ever!!! Granted, the color matched, but I broke out horribly and it took me forever to get rid of the pimples. I still cringe when I think about it. Man, they were huge and way under the skin >=/
That’s why I’m leery of drugstore products.

I use L’oreal’s True Match foundation, powder, concealer and blush with absolutely no problems. I’ve had friends who broke out in cystic acne from mineral makeup even the MAC mineralized skin finish. I never use mineral makeup for this very reason.

Bare Minerals since it was super chalky and did not match my skin tone at all, and even thought I LOVE MAC, I dont like their studio-fix foundation because it is too cakey and unnatural.

Wow, seems like alot of people show some really negative emotions towards Bare Minerals…I have oily skin so probably that’s why I love them.

Anyway, the worst I have tried so far are:
MAC (in fact, all MAC foundations…ever heard of MACacne?)
Clinique (love the liquid ones though)
Cover FX – only the regular powder foundation, not the mineral line

I used to deal with Bare Minerals on a daily basis at Sephora and some women LOVED it while others HATED it….I personally can’t stand the products. Their e/s are pretty but everything else is horrible in my opinion. They sold like hot cakes (The starter kit that is) but I do remember getting many returns on it and many women hated the fact that it came with 2 foundations – one that would most likely be a good shade for you and one that didn’t. Brand reps told me the other shade was so that you could give it to a relative that might be able to use it if it’s way off from your coloring or if it’s darker then your norm color use it in the summer as a sort of bronzer… Yea I was so not diggin this line…

wow seems like people have problems w/ mineral make up i use MAD minerals and my skin stopped breaking out when i started using it and its healther too! ps. with minerals you have to mix loose power with a daily mouisterizer to make it turn to a concealer or it will be too dry on your skin

Bare Minerals hand down. I tried it when all my friends were getting into it and it was horrible. The mua totally sold me the wrong color so I had to exchange it and then using it, it just looked utterly horrible. It didn’t help that I had dry skin to start with and the powder just made my skin look disgusting.

i’m glad i’m not alone. bare minerals. i broke out and i didn’t know it was the foundation. the color doesn’t match my skin but i used it anyway because i thought it was ‘good for your skin’. got my friends into it, most of the liked it but one of them including me broke out badly. don’t know why when i use it, my face got really oily and i never had that problem with liquid foundations. with so many other brands, this one is over priced. after a while, my friends also stopped using it because of the price and it’s messy.

And I thought I was the only one unimpressed with mineral lines, especially Bare Minerals! Not even the mua at the Bare Escentuals store could convince me. She put at least 5 different types of powder on my face (foundation, mineral veil, warmth, blush, and some sort of ridiculous highlighter)and when I saw the finished product I was SO disappointed. It looked so fake up close and washed me out completely. Boo.

well i just think bare minerals in the first mineral foundation to really market itself well. ive never tried it cause its tooo expensive, i can get all natural mineral stuff for a really cheap price in brands like everyday minerals and MAD minerals.

ive never tried foundation powder so i cant really say anything. My sister tried bare minerals one 1/4 of her face and she broke out like crazy. It almost made that part look sunburned.

Opps. I just tried Loreal bare mineral powder, olay 7 signs serum and elizabeth arden 8 hour cream together. I broke out and thought it was the olay.

Now, I am wondering if it is Loreal bare mineral foundations instead? But I am still wearing the foundation and stopped the 7 signs serum to eliminate the possibilities.

Do you girls itch while wearing the loreal bare minerals?

I use Bare Minerals and I like it. I have oily skin though so maybe that’s why? I heard that many people can be allergic to bismuth though, which is found in many cosmetics including Bare Minerals.

Bare Escentuals (Bare Minerals), hands down. Then again, what kind of company makes their main ingredient Bismuth Oxychloride, the sister compound to arsenic? It’s crystalline in shape, so users LITERALLY buff it into the skin — causing severe skin problems including cystic acne, and bleeding. I had to quit my job at Ulta because I was a beauty consultant and had to be around it so much…. My hands were literally BLOODY and RED by the end of the day. I can’t even explain how much I abhor that product.
