Rescue Beauty Lounge Black Russian Nail Lacquer
Rescue Beauty Lounge Black Russian Nail Lacquer
Rescue Beauty Lounge Black Russian Nail Lacquer ($18.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is described as “layers of ruby red flecks suspended in black polish.” Â This shade was recently voted to be brought back, which is a very cool concept on its own. I originally reviewed this shade here but thought I’d check out the rereleased version for comparison.
It’s a brown-tinged black with ruby red sparkles. It never reads fully black in the color base, and I’ve always found the red sparkle to standout quite nicely. It’s opaque in two coats and wears extremely well–a full week with very minimal tip wear–with a proper base/top coat (of course!). It seemed to be the same in color and formula to the original bottle I have. Not too thick or thin so it gives good color coverage and flows well across the nail.
Black Russian
LELimited Edition. $20.00.

How about China Glaze Lubu Heals? Texture is probably way better though.
I was thinking the same thing! They’re IDENTICAL. And I think Milani also has a very similar nail color.
looks like the Vampira Polish from Eyeko.
Looks lovely but China Glaze Lubu Heels looks dead on, so I think I’ll pass this one.
btw I’m a new reader of your website and must say, it may be the best one I have ever seen. Love the attention to detail and your constant dedication to bring us news from the beautiverse. :]
I was just going to say it’s Lubu Heels’ expensive twin. It’s my favorite fall polish. I even bought a backup of it the other day 🙂
I don’t own Lubu Heels but I was thinking the same thing. Would love to see a comparison of the two.
I have heard that they are pretty close matches.
Very, very nice. I have a Wet ‘n’ Wild dupe for this called Glitterin’. It’s most likely discontinued because it was part of the Fantasy Makers collection from years ago but since Halloween is approaching they may bring it back.
My first thought when I saw this was how similar it is to Wet n Wild’s Behind Closed Doors, from their On The Prowl collection. The WnW is in a sheerer black base, but it has fine and large red hex glitter- which is stunning on. For the $17 price difference, I don’t think I’d mind putting on an extra coat of WnW!
It reminds me of Chanel’s feu du Russie. Even the name is similar. This reads a bit less black to me, but pretty close otherwise.
This is beautiful. It screams fall to me and looks great on your nails. LOVE the subtle glitter
I have this, and I’m so glad I got it! The boyfriend bought it as a Xmas gift. It’s so stunning!
What a breathtaking colour and so perfect for fall. Wish I could find this brand near me!
I just bought this now that they rereleased it. I have to say I’m a little disappointed for the money I spent. The next morning after I applied it I was doing the dishes and I already had tip wear, and the polish on my index finger was starting to peel and lift! I had to redo 5 of my nails later that evening. That was just this past weekend, and now it’s only Tuesday and I have tip wear again on my right hand. I’m wondering if it’s the top coat I use (Sally Hanson). Also, to me the polish itself was hard to apply. The first coat looked very thin and streaky, so I had to make the second coat much thicker so that it would be opaque. Maybe I got a dud? I’m hoping the other 2 I bought don’t disappoint.
It might be the top and abse coat you’re using. when i splurged on butter london’s base and top coats, i can make any nail polish last way longer. i hope that works for you!
I really love this colour… but I don’t think I can find it here in Belgium :/
You could try OPI’s Midnight in Moscow. I think it’s quite similar to this one. 🙂
This looks really similar to a Milani nailpolish that I just recently saw at Target
This is my favorite nail polish ever. I even splurged for a backup in spite of the price. Love your swatches!
This was my first RBL and still my absolute favorite.
Hi Christine,
How come sometimes you don’t take a picture in bright light (close to a light or something)? I always look forward to seeing a nail polish in normal light and bright light. Thank you so much for such awesome swatches! 🙂
It means I either forgot or the photo didn’t turn out right.
I love this. . .
$18 though, why so much?
Thanks for the dupes guys! Eyeko’s Vampira and China Glaze’s Lubu Heels are amazingly similar! You guys just saved me from spending $18 on a polish! My boyfriend would have killed me! lol
Deborah Lippman has a nail polish called “Ruby Red Slippers” that reminds me of this, but it has some chunks of big glitter. It’s about the same price, but I got it from eBay for $12!
Gorgeous!!! But for $18 it’s not happening for me. I know I wouldn’t wear it enough to justify the price.
NEED.
Gorgeous!!!!!
This is one of the most beautiful polishes ever. I’m glad to hear the re-release is a good as the original. China Glaze Lubu Heels is similar but not a dupe. Chanel Feu de Russie is also similar.
I love it sooooooooooo much!!! But I’m afraid I cannot wear it to my office…T_T
I cannot think of a single bad thing about this polish. Love love love love.
