Clinique Touch Base for Eyes and Estee Lauder Stay in Place Eyeshadow Base. They don’t stay on at all. Not ideal for oily eyelids.
I agree about Clinique’s Touch Base and oily eyelids. I’d end up with creasing halfway through the day whenever I used them.
Barry M Eye crayon!
Ah I must agree with this! I bought it because I saw panacea81 used it, and I needed sticky base but it’s so un-creamy and hard to apply 🙁 4,50 pounds in the toilet…
MAC Cream Colour base!
I second this! I don’t understand how people can get it to work as an eye base.
Me too, I always have to put UDPP under it to keep it from creasing.
Rimmle eye glistner crayons.
favorite is cliniques touch tint for eyes, panitpots, and benefits crease less cream shadows.
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils. They crease like crazy!
I agree! Even with a Paint Pot underneath it creased 🙁
MAC cream colour bases and shadestick! CCB is fine on cheeks and lips but im stuck with shadesticks in silly colours that i cant use becoz they crease so quickly!!
That sucks, shadestick is actually one of the better bases for myself.
Nothing at all, haha! I really don’t know, since the onl true eyeshadow base I’ve ever used is UDPP. I tried using MAC Bare Canvas paint due to a suggestion from a MAC MA, but it didn’t do the job at all! So after that I used nothing until I discovered UDPP.
OMG! That is my favorite. Sorry it didn’t work for you.
Mac prep n prep eye
and paint pots (there not that bad but udpp is soo much better)
YES, to MAC’s Prep and Prime eye, crease city!!
Couldn’t agree more!
Crap, I just purchased this… 🙁
Take it back!!!!
Yep, Prep n Prime Eye by MAC is the worst!!! And you’d think with all of the great colors MAC has, they’d come out with a killer eye shadow primer…
so weird, i use the bare canvas from mac and swear by it!! though everyone raves about UDPP so ill hafta try it!
For me, Benefit Lemon Aid. And MAC Paint Pots…I’ll use them for their color benefits but, I always have to put UDPP on first.
MAC Prep and Prime BLOWS!
Dang, this was some good warning information. I think I’ll get me some UDPP
CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME WHAT UDPP IS?
urban decay primer potion
Art Deco eye shadow primer. Cheap and extremely good.
is there a website you can purchase it at?
revlon cream shadow bases. they crease like crazy
i used udpp and my eyelids started burning i don’t know if it’s because they were particularly sensitive at that point…but my friends who’s eyelids crease all the time swears by it…just not for me…i like my mac paintpots…
MAC’s Prep & Prime Eye didn’t work for me at all!
Mac Prep and Prime is awful…at least i can put it towards the “back 2 Mac” program. Also I was so excited for paint pots when they first came out, only to be disappointed when they creased like crazy. I like UDPP with a regular MAC paint on top and then any eyeshadow; that combo will last forever!
i think diff formulations works on diff ppl. So for me E.L.F duo eyeshadow cream didnt work. An Asian brand, La Pense eye base, also didn’t work. So far L’oreal de-crease e/s base, MAC p/pot in layin low are great for me. MAC CCB in Luna i only use it on my browlight and also cheek highlight.HTH!
i always just apply an extra layer of my regular concealer on my eyelids as an e/s base..works wonders for me. kills two birds with one stone without having to drop $$$ on an extra product.
To get mac paint pots to work use some shadow insurance or udpp first then put the paint pot on for color depth. Then use the color eyeshadow you are going to use over it. I do it and it works just fine and I have oily lids.
wierd..I like mac prep n prime..but I use verrrryyyy little. I can see if u slather it on it wouldnt work..
MAC’s Prep and Prime is an EYE primer, not a shadow primer.
I think that’s why it creases like CRAZY
That’s what I heard anyway
🙂
worst:
MAARYKATE ANd ASHLEY SHADOWSTICKS
MAC Prep and Prime
OK:
Sephora eye primer
Loreal Decrease
Best:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Urban Decay Primer Potion
I agree with Melia, Art Deco Eye Shadow Base is wonderful. I notice also Red Earth has a primer, but where to purchase that I am unaware as Priceline does not stock a big range of Red Earth. Reading other comments, it seems to me that the large companies churn out the products whilst the smaller companies, not as readily available, produce higher quality and better value.
