Haul: WnW palettes in Lust, Vanity, Pride, On Cloud Nine, Comfort Zone, Petal Pusher, Egyptian Sands & Amazon Greens, Ecotools 6 piece eye brush set, bamboo bronzer brush, Milani Jewel FX in Gems.
Weekend Plans: Organize blog posts and photograph some tutorials. This whole “photograph the day I post” thing isn’t working out for me. I also have to give my cats baths. They and I are not looking forward to it.
Shimmer or mattes? Definitely shimmers.
Haul: cant remember if i already posted it but nyx eyeshadows- i was a little disappointed in the quality of “i dream of aruba”; not too pigmented, but “i dream of st. john” is an awesome pigmented smokey eye palette-so happy i picked it up! the trios by nyx seem to be of better quality-i own 3 and they are excellent!
Weekend plans: hopefully relaxing, watching phillies baseball, and reading.
Shimmers or mattes: very tough decision, but since most of my eyeshadows ARE shimmers, i would say shimmers by default.
purchases from last week while i was on vacation but was not in the country for last FFHF – duty free perfumes and exclusive dior palette 🙂 some del sol nail polishes as well.
Weekend plans: college welcome week and preparing for my senior year. there are a few greek life sponsored events today and a party at my friends’ new apartment tonight, procuring textbooks and school supplies and general prep the rest of the weekend.
Shimmers or mattes: shimmers. matte always looks chalky on me, no matter how luxe the shadow is. but then again, big no to frosty shimmers.

Haul: Dinair Airbrush set!!! I got it second had to avoid the high shipping and customs that will cost me over $100 to get one in Canada. This was on my list for IMATS so I’m not breaking my no-buy here. ^_^
Weekend plans: Sewing… so much sewing to do.
Shimmers or mattes: Matte of natural day wear or some photo’s. Shimmers for everything else!
Haul: Nails Inc in Haymarket, Tarte Amazonian clay blush in Natural Beauty and Nars lipstick in Pago Pago. Can’t wait for next week where I’ll be heading to the Inglot in Newport Beach!!

Weekend plans: Try to relax as much as I can before school starts again on Monday.
Shimmers or mattes: Hmm, that’s a tough one! I’m more drawn to shimmers, they are often way prettier. But I find mattes more useful day to day and feel like I depend on those more than shimmers. Mattes are always appropriate (not talking brights here), and shimmers may not be.
Fun! I got my first mac palette! The pans I got were:
Motif, Mythology, All That Glitters, Woodwinked, Amber Lights, Expensive Pink, and Mulch.
Then I got a 239 and a 217.
Also got korres lip butter in pomegranate and strawberry rosebud salve.
i love expensive pink!

I got Max Factor Facefinity Compact Foundation in Porcelain, Revlon ‘Cherries In The Snow’ lipstick, Barry M Dazzle Dust in 27 (Gold Irridescent), Barry M Fine Glitter Dust in 26 (Aqua Frost), Sleek Pout Paints in Pin Up, Lava and Pinkini, and MeMeMe eyeshadows in Dusk, Zest and Frosted.
I also bought my very first Chanel today – Illusion D’Ombre eyeshadows in Épatant and Illusoire. I’d heard such good things about them, and was wowed when I swatched them for myself. The SA gave me free samples of ‘Sublime De Chanel’ and ‘Inimitable Intense’ mascaras when I told her I was making my first ever Chanel purchase.
This weekend, I am looking forward to my children coming home – they have been with their Dad for a week.
Shimmers or mattes – shimmers, definitely. A girl’s gotta have some shine and sparkle in an otherwise dull life.

Haul: UD 24/7 liquid liner in Radium, Tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara (whew! long name), Sephora by OPI nail polish in Break A Leg-Warmer, and a squeeze tube of UDPP Original. Plus a ton of cute clothes for BTS!
Weekend plans: Work on college apps & stay at my best friend’s house! Our dogs need a playdate. =]
Shimmers or mattes?: SHIMMERS. And I’m even a fan of chunky glitter shadows too. I’ve actually never used a matte shadow, and I really don’t think they’d look good on me.
Haul: Paul Mitchell Super-skinny Serum, Maybelline concealer (the 24 hour one – saw a Youtube video and wanted to try it out; it’s better than I espected); Thierry Mugler Angel, Benefit CCE in RSVP, Stila La Douce eyeshadow (gorgeous), 2 MAC lippies – Lustering and Impassioned (the 2nd one might have been a big mistake – talk about BRIGHT) and Great Shakes hand cream from Soap and Glory. Good thing I’m on a “no buy”, right?
Weekend plans: Cooking and clearing out accumulated stuff, the gym early tomorrow and a friend coming to stay (hence the cooking). Also have some ornamental grasses to plant.
Shimmers or mattes – to my surprise, shimmers. I discovered them with MAC’s Naked Lunch and haven’t looked back since.
Haul: Too Faced Naked eye palette, NARS mayflower lipstick, physicians formula something booster liquid eye liner, another rimmel moisture renew lipgloss (love these!), burberry brit sheer and coach poppy perfumes.
Weekend plans: pack all my stuff up for school and hopefully get a new computer!
Shimmers or mattes: I’m a shimmer person all the way, but I do love a few mattes

Haul : MAC Double Feature #4 and Cremesheen Glass Natural Flare ; at Kiko Makeup Store, items from the new Chic Chalet fall collection : Daring Fire Hues eyeshadow quad, 2 metal liners, and 2 matte liquid lipsticks.
Weekend plans : cope with the heat wave we have here without giving up on makeup. Try to paint my nails, if my polishes don’t get too goopy with the hight temperature.
Shimmers or mattes : can I say both?
Haul: I survived my promised no-buy, so I got MAC Double Future 5, Girlie ES, Spiked Eyebrow Pencil and Gem of Roses LS. I also backed to MAC and got Capricious LS – thank you, Christine, I hadn’t seen this lovely shade until you reviewed it!! I got Maybelline The Falsies Mascara as well and I loooooved it!

Shimmers or Mattes: Mattes all the way, definitely. Too much shimmer just makes me meh, but no such thing as too much matte in my opinion.
Haul: skinny jean and melon scented wet wipes from H&M, a new clean&clear makeup dissolving foaming cleanser, cotton pads, clean&clear eye makeup remover, LUSH Oatafix mask, loreal shampoo&conditioner for dry hair, loreal 5 remedy detangler, new toothbrush and toothpaste 🙂 and just small stuff like that. I really wanted to get the wet n wild vanity, pride, lust and greed palettes, but I can’t find the brand anywhere!!!! 🙁 but I discovered that they ell thebalm at london drugs!!!!!!
Weekend plans: I have a french student living with me for 3 months (I’m doing the french exchange program this year) so we’re going to fo to the Rockies hiking and then meet with some friends.
Shimmers or mattes: I love both and as you said Christine, couldn’t live without either, but I definetly use and prefer shimmers more than mattes!
Haul: NARS Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base…not sure how much is left in my tube but might as well get a backup while there’s 20% off and free 2-day shipping!

Shimmers or mattes: Shimmers! I’ve only recently started to dabble in mattes and they never wow me (or flatter me) quite as much as shimmers do.
This week I picked up a nail polish from forever 21 and I also picked up 2 china glaze polishes in midtown magic and urban night as well as haute taupe from new finger paints collection. I also brought my first pair of skinny jeans and my first elf palette. My weekend plans are to get as much done before my vacation ends this weekend. I like mattes more than shimmers but shimmers usually have a better texture and payoff so it’s a toss up.
