Nails Inc. Connaught Square Nail Lacquer Review, Photos, Swatches
Nails Inc. Connaught Square Nail Lacquer
Nails Inc. Connaught Square Nail Lacquer ($9.50 for 0.33 oz.) is described as a “clear with blue glitter and chunky purple glitter” shade. It’s part of Nails Inc.’s Special Effects 3D Glitter line-up where each shade uses two different-sized glitter particles to create a “3D effect” as well as give full coverage. Connaught Square is predominantly blue–lots of medium-dark blue small-sized glitter with larger, larger fuchsia-purple glittery bits that are strewn throughout.
By the nature of the polish, it has a rough, uneven texture–which is essentially by design, hence the “3D effect”–the texture has more to it than a single-sized particle glitter polish, because that tends to have a more uniform unevenness, while this one has more of a bumpy feel. It doesn’t bother me, and again, it’s what Nails Inc. was going for with these polishes.
The coverage is good but not completely opaque in places, and it took three coats to get to the coverage level as pictured. It is important–as with most glitter polishes–to let each coat dry enough so that the next coat doesn’t pull at the glitter from the previous coat. This helps give you more opaque coverage and better distributed glitter. For a glitter suspended in a clear base, the coverage is still rather impressive. Â Because it has a clear base, you could definitely use it to layer, too.
Removal is at par in regards to glitter polishes–it will take more elbow crease and patience than creams and shimmers. I use Zoya’s Remove+ on felt, and then I press it against the nail for 30 seconds or so. I then move on to the next nail, and I do this for the rest of the hand, before going back to the first fingernail and removing the glitter. This gives the remover some time to breakdown the polish.
Over a week, I did not experience any chipping, but tip wear seemed a bit more than norm, which makes sense, because it’s difficult to wrap a clear polish with lots of glitter over the edge of the nail.

Hm, looks just a little too patchy for my liking :/.
I’ll have to skip this one, or layer it over a matching blue.
seems like an opaque bas with one coat of this polish over it would look better. Very pretty though 🙂
I saw these at Sephora and thought they looked pretty cool. Your best option would probably be to layer them over a base color and use a top coat to smooth it out.
The chunky purple glitter makes this look more interesting.
This is a gorgeous shade! I’m not a fan of blue nail paints but this looks pretty amazing!
Here are possible dupes:

(less blue)
Kleancolour in Disco Ball
(different shape of glitter though and transparent base)
This looks like a mess to apply, only for a patchy result. No thank you
This is pretty good, usually with glitter nail polishes you to put several coats to actually see the glitter but this is impressive. I like!
Kleancolor in Vegas Night #96 would be close to this.
Wow, love this color. It’s so unique! Looks like it would feel quite rough but I think a great top coat will help with that texture.
Yum on the color – and that’s saying something for me as I am not a glitter fan due to how hard it is to get off and I also don’t wear much in the bright blue polish range but on my toes in summer maybe 2X. I have not been into any Sephora yet to see the Nails Inc collections yet.
The color is awesome, but the texture is clumpy looking and it is so patchy… not worth it when there are some really awesome glitters out there… maybe with a base underneath? A coat of gelous over the top would help some of the chunkiness…
Such a pretty color! 3 coats isn’t bad for that amount of coverage. Don’t like the 3D gimmick. It’s a nice way of saying chunky. The texture looks the same as OPI Absolutely Alice.
$9.50 for .33oz is pretty skimpy unless it’s so unique I just can’t live without it.
LOVE the look of this polish – patchy or not, the “3D” effect is spot-on. I think it would be gorgeous over a fuchsia-violet base :o)
Beautiful ♥ !
I’ve got to confess that I am personally just irritated that Nails inc are cheaper in the US than the UK – how rude!!!
The shade of purple and blue go together perfectly.
I didn’t think it’d do much for me until I clicked through to the nail swatches – but I really, really like this. It looks like it could be a super fun layering shade.
Pretty, but too chunky/looks gritty.
NEED..
found a dupe! Wet and Wild- Believe me it’s real. I want this one though!!
