bareMinerals The Perfect Storm Eyeshadow Duo
bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow Duos: The Perfect Storm
bareMinerals The Perfect Storm Eyeshadow Duo ($20.00 for 0.10 oz.) contains two shades: Cumulus and Tempest. This duo launches in October, and it’s touted as a solid eyeshadow with SeaNutritive Mineral Complex that is “creamy, silky smooth” with “seamless blendability” and “stay-true color” that is long-wearing when worn alone without creasing or budging. When worn alone, I was able to wear several of the new duos for 10 hours without an eyeshadow primer. For more details on packaging, please read my original review.
Cumulus is a subtly, cool-toned white with a soft, frosted shimmer finish. It’s very opaque, and the texture is dense and buttery. It ends up a bit like Inglot #351 but whiter. Inglot #373 is closer but cooler.
Tempest is a gray-casted taupe with a near-matte finish. It’s that mix of gray and brown that creates taupe, but it leans more on the gray side. The matte texture is really workable here–it’s soft, smooth, and nicely pigmented. The softness makes it easy to blend when applied. The shade is reminiscent of Chanel Prelude without the shimmer. It’s very similar but slightly grayer compared to Burberry Taupe Brown.

I’d kind of sworn off BE since their mineral foundation broke me out in the most horrible rash/burn thing ever. I loooove the darker shade, though, so I might check this out when it comes out
Wow! Loving the names of the palette and two shades!
I’m sure others have commented on this, but I just have to say how tacky the etiquette on the back looks on all of these! It looks so cheap and on all of them it’s started to come off… not okay from a big, relatively fancy brand like BE
As noted in the post, it is not final packaging. This is not what customers will receive. These are press samples, and as such, they are not always the final packaged product. Again, this was clearly stated right beneath the photo!
Tempest is such a gorgeous taupe!
why does the packaging get 5/5?
It’s easy to grip, better survivability (from dropping), has a mirror, compact, doesn’t show fingerprints.
Christine, you actually deliberately DROP the products you’re testing? My gosh, kudos to you for being willing to do this. I don’t think I could ever willing drop an eyeshadow or a compact…even one that was a GWP (so free) or that I wasn’t crazy about. You go to great lengths for your readers! Thank you!
Yes, all of the time. I don’t drop most products from 4 or 5 feet over tile, but I do drop them on counters, toss them around in bags together, etc.
LOVING the taupe color. Any word on these ever being released as singles?
Given that these haven’t even launched, I doubt they will be releasing singles any time soon.
Ooh, pretty. I love the names. 🙂
Love the names, not feeling the colors.
oooh, Tempest looks like THE PERFECT brow colour for asians!! grey with a hint of brown to it… 😀
I have no idea what to use the white colour for if I do end up buying it though….
So glad to see some mattes in these duos. But I realized now in those you have shown us thus far, I like one shade in the duo but never both. That’s going to be a real problem for me with what I am sure they will ask for their price point. They did need to come out with a pressed shadow however – but wow…they do so many shades and so many come and go. Thus far not a fan of the fact there is one good one and one I don’t like in every duo. That’s going to be a deal breaker for me on these.
Ohhhhh man. This is a palette containing the two colours I use most – a white on the lid, brown in crease. Love the shade of brown too, not too warm, so it’ll work well with my skin tone, and almost matte!
Definitely getting this one! Maybe I’ll cash out for the purple duo as well. I love my purples. 🙂
Wow~~ a dream come true! Bare Escentuals producing PRESSED EYESHADOWS??? I think I must have died and gone to heaven! Can’t wait to get my hands on one (or two) of these! ;^)
