Charlotte Tilbury
BECCA, Anastasia, Urban Decay… I always love seeing what Guerlain comes out with, too!
Urban Decay: Because I already ordered the mini Vice set! I typically like their varied color palettes in the sets and releases. Just wish they’d get their quality in check.
MAC: I adore their festive holiday packaging. Typically I like their holiday color choices. Same comment about quality though.
NARS: Hands down the winner IMO for the most creative packaging. I am a sucker for packaging! Quality is usually good. Wish they were a little less expensive.
Cle de Peau, Bobbi Brown and Guerlain
Tom Ford and Chanel. I’m really trying to limit my shopping this season, so any brand that has a ton of holiday products (looking at you, NARS) is off my radar this year since I still have purchases from last year that are untouched.
ABH and Cover FX
I typically get very bah humbug with Holiday collections. I find the mass product slogging all too overwhelming to the senses. On every retail level actually. I usually go on buying hiatus just when all the purported massively fantastic deals are a happenin’. It’s already starting.. artsy perfume commercials have begun appearing on my TV dammit.. ?
I totally agree. I keep seeing all this stuff, it all looks the same, everyone trying to out do the other one. Nothing is original and I never see anything that jumps out at me and says take me home. I used to love this time of year, now I look to escape it to a nice warm beachy place.
I love a green Christmas… grinch style
Not that I’ll buy anything, but I do enjoy seeing the Guerlain, Dior and Chanel collections. There always seems to be that one special item (usually LE) that will tempt me to no end, especially if it’s an icy color (usually a highlighter or finishing powder that I absolutely do not need and can’t justify the huge $$$ to buy, regardless of how amazingly beautiful and unique it is). I’ll end up watching Tarababz for a secondhand thrill.
Anne, you sound like me. I live vicariously through Tara. I love her haul videos and she seems like such a down to earth, well centered young woman. I have the added bonus of being super pale like her so when she can’t wear something I know it won’t work for me. She was the one who got me started using Guerlain Meteorites and they are a product that I just will never be without. Expensive but worth it to me.
Deborah, you can check Laura Leth as well (she’s from Denmark). She’s pale and has dry skin; my skin is like hers so I know that if a product looks good on her, will look good on me in terms of colour and dryness. She has just posted a full face using Fenty Beauty.
Thank you for the suggestion. I took a peak at her channel and she does seem really nice and her skin is pretty pale. I might be a shade lighter but usually can make one shade darker work for me. I will binge watch her channel since I am still stuck inside due to extreme smoke from forest fires in Montana. I have read every book in the house, cleaned everything I can find to clean, purged my makeup and shopped way to much on-line. I have run out of YT videos to watch on the channels I normally subscribe to and since Christine doesn’t post all night, why I ask? LOL. I don’t have anything makeup related to read. I have started to read some fan fiction from my favorite television programs but most of those are thinly veiled smut so any other YT channels to watch are much appreciated. Thank you again.
Oh Deborah, I hope you stay safe with all those forest fires ! I’ve watched Laura’s channel grow over the years; she’s sweet, no drama and down to earth. She has a blog, too. She’s much younger than me but I can relate to her swatches. Maybe you are already watching Lisa Eldridge on YT. Well, lately I’ve developed an interest and passion for vintage makeup pieces and for the history of makeup. Lisa has a video called “Vintage Make-Up…I Love It! ” in which she is showing some gorgeous makeup pieces from her impressive vintage collection (she has been collecting vintage makeup for years and she has a dedicated storage room). Some are from the period before the World War I. In the video she’s testing on her cheeks a blush from a 1920’s compact. Those makeup items are pure art. The quality of the products and the packaging is just amazing ! All my best from Montreal !
Deborah, I’m even a little lighter than Tara, but I’ve gotten several products that I like due to her hauls, one of them being Dr Jart BB Cream. But there are a few others, too. Her hauls are something else. And, she gives excellent reviews. Very sweet person.
I know that she uses the Dr. Jart BB cream but haven’t looked at it. I always think her skin looks so perfect and so moisturized but assumed it was that she is so young. How much coverage does the Dr. Jart have? I know most BB creams are lighter coverage but certainly not all. I used the Boscia BB cream and really like that for summer and for lighter coverage but I definitely need more coverage most of the time.
Dr Jart has very good coverage and is buildable. It’s got a high SPF, too. I have to mix a drop of The Body Shop’s Lightening Drops per pump because it’s just a shade too dark for me (I’m NW 10-13ish). I love this product. And, the price is right! It is definitely moisturizing and perfect for cooler undertones.
I’m not light complexed but I love Tara hauls too! Her voice is so hypnotic and she seems to have a good spirit.
I enjoy looking at all the holiday releases but have to limit my purchases as I would probably buy almost everything. In particular I do love Chanel, Dior, Guerlain, Kat Von D and Urban Decay.
MAC, Urban Decay and probably Chanel (just to see if there’s a new e/s quad I can’t resist)
Since MAC *always* brings it, I’m definitely anticipating their holiday season offerings! Last 3-4 years, they’ve put out some fantastic stuff.
Guerlain, too, has me excited for their holiday Meteorite Pearls. This *could* be the year!
As for UD, I’m left wondering whatever happened to their usual holiday palette? Hmmm…. there’s been no buzz about one, either.
Shocker is Hourglass. Never imagined I’d be drawn to one one of their usual holiday rip-off palettes, but this year’s is something special.
Anastasia and Urban Decay, hoping they have some exciting Holiday launches this year!
Bite Beauty, Anastasia, Colourpop, NARS, Smashbox, Laura Mercier
Hourglass’s new ambient lighting set. The champagne lip set by Bite Beauty. And the Kat Von D Saint and Sinner palette. 🙂
MAC! They won me over with the snowflakes.
Urban Decay, Kat Von D , ColourPop
Any brand that is serious about color
I already want the Saint and Sinner pallet
I always keep an eye out for Armani, Cle de Peau and Tom Ford and pass on the rest. So far so goodbye on resisting the fall releases.
If I had to narrow it down I am most looking forward to MAC and Chanel’s holiday launches.
I am like a kid in a toy store. I want to see it them all. I love seeing all the new “toys” come out and to play with them for a little while before I make my list and check it twice.
Charlotte Tilbury (she does clever stuff for the holidays) Hourglass (the Confession lipstick set), and maybe ABH (if they do a good lip product set). Other than that, it’s looking like the same-old same-old–more highlighter and eyeshadow palettes. Also, I’ve been disappointed by the poor quality of a number of brands’ holiday offerings (MAC, Bobbi Brown come to mind) in the past, so I’m hesitant to blow a bundle on them.
Tom Ford, MAC, Chanel, NARS for any new Audacious lipsticks, and Guerlain for Meteorites!
Chanel, Guerlain, Dior, MAC, NARS, Bite Beauty (for the lip kits), BECCA.
Guerlain, Dior, Becca, Hourglass, Nars, Bite Beauty, Too Faced (palettes might be fails but packaging is usually pretty).
CP..but I have come to the conclusion that I can’t stand their liquid lippies..but the Yes Palette won me over…they have some great products..just their LL are terrible imo. Haven’t tried the lippie sticks yet..hopefully, those are a bit better.
Urban Decay, Make Up For Ever, and MAC…though to be honest, if I buy anything I don’t know where I’ll put it.
I always love Urban Decay and MAC launches!
NARS, UD, Chanel, Guerlain, and Bite! TF too!
None really. What I’ve seen so far has been less than impressive and lacking. So far I will probably buy things from the permanent line if anything and stay away from the subpar boring and unimpressive holiday collections!
I’m with you, Erica!
Urban Decay
ABH
Chanel
Tom Ford
Guerlain
I love them all….
Convinced that there will be a Powermate LL set at either Sephora or Nars.com. Learned by swatchfest that that’s a good formula for me. On the hand back, the new bite bled into blotches like septarian nodules, if anyone knows what they are. (prob Alice does…she makes jewelry.) Not a good lip look. I would LOVE to know why that one bleeds like crazy, and butter London lip oil don’t at all and Nars VLGs only slightly for some colors. First time bite and I disagree. Also excited that maybe the rest of Nars will be Man Ray, dada, or surrealist. Guerlain is always interesting, if not always great. I’ve loved Lorac this year, but would be more interested in smaller pieces than another mega. The MJ mega has already blinded me to any other biggie, though looking forward to the other reveals from mjb and kvd. Despite feeling jaded and unwilling to visit a shopping center from Halloween to VD, always enjoy the epic holiday reviews from Christine for guidance in online acquisitions.
MAC, Nars, Hourglass and Stilla is looking good this holiday season.
Nars, Giorgio Armani, Mac
Nars: that highlight/bronze palette just made me swoon
Benefit: they have great deals in adorable packaging
Tarte: mainly their staple blush palettes (the bulkier eyeshadow palettes are not great in my opinion)
Sephora Favourites: these are often such great deals!
Smashbox usually does great ones too
1st: Mac (I always buy something from Mac)
2nd: Bobbi Borown, UD, ABH, Make up forever and perfume sets of course
Chanel, Tom Ford, Charlotte Tilbury, and Guerlain.
Becca, NARS, MAC and Anastasia!
I don;t get tempted at all, I never buy a holiday collection.
Tarte, Chanel and Guerlain.
