Wet 'n' Wild Comfort Zone Eyeshadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches

Wet ‘n’ Wild Comfort Zone Eyeshadow Palette

Wet ‘n’ Wild Comfort Zone Eyeshadow Palette

Wet ‘n’ Wild Comfort Zone Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette ($4.99 for 0.30 oz.) is an earth-toned palette that features eight eyeshadows.

Column One

  • The Browbone is a warm beige with a soft, frosted finish. It is a little less beige compared to MAC Ricepaper.
  • The Eyelid is a rosy copper with a frost finish. It is similar in color but darker than MAC Jest.
  • The Crease is a warm, medium-dark golden brown with a pearly sheen. It is a touch lighter than MAC Soba.
  • The Definer is a dark, burgundy and copper shimmered brown with subtle red undertones. It is very similar to MAC Smut.

Column Two

  • The Browbone is a pale, dirty gray-pewter with a white, frosted sheen. Urban Decay Ruthless is a touch warmer but similar. Inglot #350 is a little grayer and has more of matte finish.
  • The Eyelid is a subdued, springy green with a golden sheen. It is more subdued with less yellow tones than MAC Juxt.
  • The Crease is a charcoal brown with a pearly sheen. Milani Melange is similar but has a more shimmered appearance.
  • The Definer is a red-brown with a teal duochrome and frosted finish. It is similar to MAC Club and Urban Decay Lounge.

The color payoff was excellent across the board with the exception of two shades–the green shade in column two was still good but a little sheer, while the smoky brown in column two was a little sheer as well. The latter shade also felt dry and stiff, so it wasn’t as easy to blend out as many of the other shades.  Texture on these was also nice, other than the exception mentioned–soft, smooth, and blendable.

Sometimes I have issues with the wear of Wet ‘n’ Wild’s eyeshadows (typically, nothing too concerning, though), but this palette wore really well without fading or having residual fall out at the end of the day.

Many place in the US now sell these online. These 8 colour palettes are not sold in store up here just yet in Canada in most location. i only found on in the 8 cities that carry it.

Meow Avatar

They are indeed in Canada. I went looking for them in about 20 different Walmarts in the last six months(Pathetic I know) until they finally showed up in late June in the Walmart in Kitchener Ontario at ”fairview mall”.I’ve seen the 8 pan palettes in all three versions in both Kitchener, Orangeville, Guelph (where I’m from) and Mississauga Ontario- they’re very sporadic in their distribution, only certain walmarts in certain cities carry them which is very much a bummer. Good luck searching – what part of Canada did you say you were from by the way.

Musebeliever Avatar

DOnt have it in France either.
I’m sooo envious. >.<
For this price, the eyeshadows here are crap except for Kiko.
All others have bad colour payoff and make me cry. T.T

This one and the Dream Weavers are on my list. I’m always happy when the drugstore guys – here I’m thinking about Milani and WnW – get the concept that folks will pay for good products. Thanks for another good find, Christine!

Wet ‘n’ Wild for frost shimmer shades are excelent. The matte are too chalky for my taste. However NYC 4 colour palettes in the matte/satin shades are also excellent and fill the void.

Maggie Avatar

I just bought this yesterday! Love it already, I was surprised at the pigmentation of the palette. I think I might have to go out and buy more wet n wild eyeshadows now…

Ursula Avatar

IDGAF, I seriously love this palette. As someone who only shopped at Sephora for years, it’s mind-blowing to me that a low-end drugstore brand could be this good.

Kim Avatar

Good news for you – I’m in rural Quebec & I found my “unicorn” yesterday in Walmart for $4.64 CDN – all 3 palettes, pristine & unbroken which is rare for WM… they are out there or at least coming! good hunting!

Mo Avatar

I got this palette about 2 weeks ago. Love it! Will check out Rite Aid today to see if they have the Dream Weavers. Rite Aid has a sale that ends today. All WnW Buy 1 Get 1 Half Off!

Drugstore.com has an ebay store and they only charge $1.99 to ship…I’m waiting for mine. I used to buy WNW when I was a kid can’t believe it’s gotten A- good!!

Mariella Avatar

I wish some retailer in Canada would get these 8 pan palettes!!!! I really want Comfort Zone (will pass on the others, most likely) but it’s just not available here, which is annoying.

Jen Avatar

ITS IN CANADA NOW!! I just picked up the 3 8 pan palettes at Walmart in Woodstock Ontario. I saw that a few other walmarts near me had the displays up, but hadn’t gotten stock yet. I was so excited when I saw them today and they were under $5 bucks. Comfort Zone is so gorgeous. The shadows remind my of Urban Decay quality

Victoria Avatar

I was so desperate to get this a while back that I bought the last one remaining which had a broken 1st column definer shade. It is literally my favorite neutral eyeshadow palette ever. The only probablem I have with it is the first column highlight shade is way too shimmery for browbone (I only use a little bit in the inner corners of my eyes). But other than that this palette is amazing in my book 🙂 Now I just have to buy a new one because of the huge mess the shattered shade has caused. It is by far the best of the 8pan wnw palettes (Blue had me at hello had too many misses/similar shades and Petal Pusher was just chalky and unpigmented).

Devi Avatar

I must add this to my list of WnW palettes to get. Had I just looked at the swatches and not see the brand of the eyeshadows, I would have never guessed that it was from a WnW palette. I’m glad that there is a Lounge dupe here, I always loved the shade but never wanted to purchase it because I knew that I would never use it too much. I’m totally getting this now.

braveviet Avatar

Like most of you, I hunted for this item up and down all drugstores nearby, they were all sold out. I stalked the beauty section everytime I went to do grocery shopping that my husband wondered how good that makeup is. But when I got it in hand, I honestly don’t use them as often as I thought, it is not totally for daily makeup as expected because it is way frosty on all the shadows. I usually have to use with other matte or satin finished shadows. Anyway it is still good shadow for the price, color payoff, texture and stay power. Hope they tone down a little on shimmering

Quinctia Avatar

I don’t want to send you on another hunt, but if you liked the quality of the shadows, but want some mattes, I would try to hunt down the 6-pan palettes. I’ve read that WnW is planning on discontinuing them to put the 8-pans in every store they offer product at, so now would be the time to try and find them. Both of the palettes I have (Lust, Pride) are half mattes and half shinies. I’m not a huge matte wearer, but I wear the mattes in Lust quite a bit.

Sarah S. Avatar

Once you try one WNW palette, it is soooo tempting to run out and buy every eyeshadow they make (I did! Go for B1G1 50% off drugstore sales). I haven’t been disappointed yet for the price!

Ang Avatar

I had this, dropped it in my sink while doing my make-up and the entire thing busted.

Now, of course, I can’t find it in stores anymore…maybe I’ll re-order online. -_-

Maebee Avatar

I’ve had this palette and the other two 8pans for a few months now and agree that they are pretty good for the price. Some of the shadows are so soft they crumble so you have to be careful. Also some look good but when you use them they are too sheer. Otherwise what can you aak for at that price?

Carrie Ann Avatar

This would be great to take on trips. It has dupes of more expensive shadows, but the palette is so inexpensive you wouldn’t feel that bad if it broke or got lost. I don’t think I’d use those shades as they suggest, though. I’d probably use the browbone shades on the lid and maybe a crease shade as liner, for example.

Rebecca Avatar

Wow! Love these colors! I’m definitely gonna keep an eye out for this one. I am loving WnW lately; and for the price if 1 or 2 colors from a palette don’t have the best payoff it’s not as big of a deal as with a $50 palette. The duochrome on the last color is amazing! Thanks for swatching this one!

stacey Avatar

I would happily happily pay more for a cosmetic product or any product not made in China but in the USA…to support the US for at least this reason alone….no matter how nice the palette appears to be.

Ashley Avatar

Thank you so much Christine for pointing out that these are on drugstore.com! I’ve been really wanting a couple of the 8pan palettes, including this one, and I am now a very happy girl 🙂 I also hauled the Blue Had Me at Hello palette, the WnW Vanity palette, a WnW brow pencil, a pair of Ardell Accent lashes, Elf Studio creme liner in Metallic Olive, two bars of Yardley of London soap, some ecoflossers, and some Bodycology Coconut lime shower gel. I couldn’t believe it all came out to $25 with a $5 off code and free shipping. The really random stuff was me trying to bring it up to $30 to get $5 off, lol! I can’t wait to try everything out, especially since almost all of it is new to me products 🙂

Ahh this looks so pretty! I love how much wet n wild is improving! Great swatches, too!
I just bought the whole Dream Weavers Collection and all of the six pan palette ones to review and swatch for my blog, but I guess I’ll have to be getting these too!

Blue Avatar

That last shade on the right of the palette looks exactly like Too Faced Petals to the Metal! Awesome – I’m totally getting one of these!

Lisa Avatar

how funny…i just bought this one tonight at Walgreens lol!! i had to play with it as soon as i got it home and found the same issues with the two colors in the second column as you did. so disappointing, but i am absolutely in love with the brown tones in the first column. they are gorgeous!! i also picked up a couple of trios, silent treatment which has a beautiful lavendar/taupe color and spoiled brat which has the most amazing bright hot pink!! not sure how to wear it yet, though…lol! my first experience with wnw was with the walking on eggshells trio of neutrals that are just lovely. the “eyelid” color in that trio is a perfect dupe for mac’s naked lunch, imo. the wnw display at the walgreens near me tends to be neglected and empty most of the time, but tonight it was fully stocked and amazing!!! 😀

im new here and i have to say im in love…such a great site!! 🙂

stacey Avatar

Personally, I do not buy anything made in China when I have a choice..even if I have to pay more for a product. I prefer to buy even drugstore brands made in the USA. I grew up in a time where there was NO makeup made in China. Without getting out of topic as to why I dont buy made in China stuff….I just dont trust the stuff made there. I am 100% Asian by the way.

Ileana Avatar

I’m really impressed with the quality of the newer Wet & Wild Eyeshadows. They have really stepped it up in the quality department. The only thing I wish they would do is give each eyeshadow a name.

ericka Avatar

Love, love, LOVE this palette! FYI- The eyelid color in the first column is a dupe for MAC’s All That Glitters… so much so that I returned my MAC shadow and kept the Wet n’ Wild instead!

Maria Avatar

Thanks, Christine! I went and bought this RIGHT AWAY! They had 3 left at my local walmart. The pigmentation is AMAZING. So buttery and blendable. Reminds me of UD shadows.

Stephanie Avatar

I bought this a few days ago and I was about to use it today and accidentally knocked it on the floor and the top right shadow busted everywhere. I’m so mad that I ruined it before I even used it! Haha oh well, I smushed most of the shadow back into place, it just looks all bummy now. D: The colors are really nice and blend well though.

Brie Avatar

I’ll be on the look-out for this one! I really wanted MAC’s Club but have held off because I don’t want to start a new quad or 15-pan palette for one shade 😛

Jessica Avatar

I love this palette and use it a lot, but I’m not happy with the bottom left definer color (the one like MAC Smut). I find it falls out LIKE CRAZY and you really have to pack it on to get that rich shimmery plum and for it not to look like mud. Similar problems, though not as bad, with the one above the Club dupe (which, incidentally, I think I like even more than the real thing). I’d love to see Christine do some eye looks with this palette, for inspiration!

Noelle Avatar

I’ve had this palette since its release and I adore it! I think it’s much better in quality than the trios that Wet N Wild offers. If you can find one of these, you should definitely get it!

ak Avatar

They’ve really done well with their shadows this time haven’t they. Unlike the Wet n Wild that I used to walk by in the shops when I was a kid.

Alyssa Avatar

I was able to get the last one at my local Walgreens too! The cashier took one look at it and said she HAD to have it. It is seriously one of my favorite palates I own. I broke the green color but it’s all good since I can always buy another one. I LOVE how inexpensive it is too

Michelle Avatar

I picked this up a couple of weeks ago at Walgreens and it is quickly becoming one of my favorite palettes…the eyelid color in column 1 is a fantastic color for a quick look on it’s own and I absolutely ADORE the definer color in column 2 – it’s gorgeous!

Ramona Avatar

I want this palette sooo bad! I saw two at the drugstore today but they were both broken and messed up! I’m annoyed. I think I’m going to go look at another drugstore because I don’t want to order it online, I want it now.

Melissa Avatar

The last shade is a dupe for Too Faced Label Whore. I own both and honestly I cannot tell the difference! I hear MAC Club is similar as well but since I do not own it I am not sure. Do you know if the crease shade on the right side is similar to UD Cobra?

Akanne Avatar

I must admit that I was pretty skeptical about this palette but Christine included it in her top 10 palettes of 2011. Today, I was casually browsing at my local cvs and picked it up. I am pleasantly surprised of how good it is! My god, it so pigmented that it reminds me of INGLOT shadows. My favorite so far is the redish brown from the first column. Too bad WnW doesn’t name the shadows right? Christine said that the color is like smut but I feel that is also like a mixture of sketch and beauty marked. Well, needless to say that I’m convinced. Thanks again Christine 🙂

Jeanatte Avatar

Was browsing at Ulta last week and found this. I remembered how well it was rated and figured I’d pick it up. Now I know what all of the fuss is about. This palette is amazing. Such pretty colors! Definitely a keeper.

Dawn T Avatar

I have both this one and Petal Pusher and both have fantastic color payoff and texture especially better because I got them buy one get one FREE. If anyone has a problem finding these and has a winn dixie close by then that is where I got them bc I waited to get them on sale and got almost all of the pallettes available for buy 1 get 1 free.
